“Excellent stay. Everything stands out. Clean, safe, wonderful, amazing snowy night and day. Staying there for 2 nights was so dreamy. The onsen experience was unreal. Breakfast was filling with a great set offered. Staffs were helpful and patient. Language barrier was not a big issue. They sincerely try their very best to accomodate.
If you want perfect english, best to visit an english-speaking country.”

“Great location for the hotel to see both the Shinhotaka ropeway and the Kamikochi park. Inside it was clean, quiet and, of course, great private onsens. 2 indoor and 1 outdoor. Water was very hot, but relaxing. Will definitely book again if we're back here”

“We had a wonderful time at this ryokan. We chose this inn specifically for its remote location and traditional atmosphere and were not disappointed. The hotel, outdoor onsen, and woodsy surroundings were all excellent. The building is old and reminded me of the railroad lodges of the western United States: creaky old doors and floors, metal keys, and rotary dial phones.
Other than the hotel, there are no restaurants nearby (that I know of) and dinner is an elaborate kaiseki ryori that requires...

“Ottimo ryokan, la nostra stanza era molto bella con un piccolo onsen privato. La cena e la colazione erano buone servite in una piccola stanza privata, la ragazza che le ha illustrate parlava un inglese più che discreto ed era molto gentile e solare. Ottimi onsen pubblici dividi tra femminili e maschili (noi abbiamo svuto la fortuna di non trovare nessuno all'interno della zona, sia nel pomeriggio che nella sera).
Qualita/prezzo ottimo!”

“Most excellent stay with impeccable hospitality. The hotel master provided us with superb dinner each day (even though I did not reserve dinner for the first night).
Super worth the stay to explore kamikochi really early the next morning.”

“The entire Roykan was very clean and comfortable. The staff was personable and we had the best time getting to know them and their families. They all were extremely kind and we were most thankful for their friendship.”

“We stayed at this ryokan for 3 nights and we loved it there! It is family driven and has such a lovely and local feeling. Our room was big, authentic and had a really nice onsen. We received the best breakfast every morning, it was the best we ever had. We also had dinner there 1 night, and it was such an experience. Everything tasted amazing and we loved that the ingredients was local and in season. We also got help for activities. ”

"I had a great stay here. The hotel is about a 13–15 minute walk from the station and conveniently close to Matsumoto Castle. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I stayed for two nights and really enjoyed my time. Highly recommended!"
