Quick stay cation

Visiting the grands
The privacy, quiet, lovely space is only a mile from our family. We hadn’t seen our grandchildren for over a year. It was a perfect location for a great time. We’ll be back!

Double-booked!!!
Despite booking and paying for our stay in full 3 months prior to our reserved dates AND receiving a welcome email with the key lock passcode on the morning of our arrival, my family and I arrived at 5 pm on a Sunday to find the property was double-booked, with other guests’ belongings inside the home! I called the owner’s number & the voicemail said he was out of town & to call his co-host for any problems, which I did. She said she was sorry for the mixup and that the current guests had asked for an extended stay! Really!! I was very upset and angry that this happened. We then had to find other lodging for the next 2 nights at the last minute. I asked for a full refund ASAP & she said she would let the owner know. I had to send messages & make phone calls over the next 5 days & did not receive a full refund until 8 days later! That should have been taken care of immediately! I would not recommend renting property from Elie Bulka at all!!!

I was very sorry to be faced with this unhappy event which was caused by the VRBO system overriding an Airbnb reservation. Out of my control really. This rarely happens and we took extra steps to try to avoid even a rarity which causes understandable frustration on the part of the guest. Again, it took a whole 8 days for VRBO to refund the money and this is once again out of my control, in spite of me calling them multiple times on the issue. Sorry again. We do our best here.

Peaceful stay in the Portland area
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage. It was private, peaceful, and quiet with plenty of street parking. The place was spacious and clean. The only issues we had were with the Wi-Fi and the bikes. The Wi-Fi router is old and could use replacement as it uses an outdated security protocol. We had trouble connecting to it because our phones did not like the weak security, but the tv was able to stream Netflix just fine. The bikes seemed to be in good condition, but we didn’t take them out because we didn’t know the code for the bike locks and didn’t want to leave them unlocked outside the backyard. Overall, we enjoyed the place and the peaceful backyard area and had a great time in Portland!

The Cutest Cottage Stay
The listing is as how is described on the site, also the location was a safe quiet area. The comfort of this home was so comforting, I slept once I got there until the next morning and I am not even exaggerating that is how comfortable my stay was. Elie was able to make sure he was available whenever I needed something so I appreciated that. I would def come back with my fiance because the setting was so comforting I didn't even get to enjoy the garden because I fell asleep the whole day. If your looking for comfort in the place and location beside all the other benefits the place offers this is the spot.

Quite and romantic
Very nice neighborhood with nice amenities like complimentary large bottle of water, chocolates, tea, and coffee. The towels felt brand new and bed was comfortable with nice decor. The only disappointment was the pond/fountain feature was not working but the host/owner was very friendly and we even had their cat and dog greet us and show us to our room! Would definitely stay there again.

Perfect little cottage close to Multnomah Village
The cottage was exactly as described in the listing. The bed was beautiful and so comfortable. The location was perfect. Walking to Multnomah Village was a real treat with many restaurants and places to get drinks, also a great Center for the Arts. And to top it off we had the nicest conversations with the owner, Elie.

The cottage was a clean and tidy studio , one small complaint is the fridge is in the room we slept in, and was quite noisy, woke us every time it ran.

Stayed here when back in Portland to attend a family wedding. Perfect for a couple! Lovely gardens.
Wonderful stay! Location was perfect for us—close to family and close to Multnomah Village bakeries, restaurants, coffee shops. The lodging was clean, quiet, and impeccably maintained. Lovely outdoor gardens. Would stay there again in a heartbeat when back in Portland to visit family!

Quiet gem in Multnomah
Elie, our host, was very present and was there to aid in any problems. We had none! The space was spotless, had all we needed and the bed was super comfortable. The backyard was lovely and relaxing and the A/C worked great. It was over 100 deg. when we arrived.! We enjoyed interacting with the dog and cat as we missed our own, but they were well trained and did not enter the unit. Excellent neighborhood and we would recommend highly!

Wonderful Cottage to explore Portland from
This is a wonderful studio cottage in the Hillsdale area of Portland that was easy to find and even easier to use as a central point to discover and enjoy Portland. Downtown and 23rd Avenue were our main destinations this visit and both were just 15-18 minutes away either through the freeway system or the delightful hilly backroads. The neighborhood offered a great space to walk around and look at the variety of gardens from the neighbors. Overall this was a great place to stay and we hope to do it again soon.

Sweet Spot!
When my conference in Portland was switched to a virtual event, I decided to keep my trip and found this lovely garden cottage where I attended the conference virtually. The internet was stellar- I never had even the slightest glitch. The cottage is welcoming, quiet, very well decorated with all the amenities of a home away from home. The neighborhood is wonderful and close to shops and stores, Access to the freeway was easy. The host was friendly and accommodating. Kitchen is well appointed and the table was set up with wine glasses and some delicious chocolate. I highly recommend this property for single travelers as well as for a couple wanting a romantic get-away.

Great stay in Portland
Everything was great! Elie emailed all the information we needed and the room was as described. Every morning Nelo the dog would knock on the door and give us a "wake up call." The area was quiet and secure. Elie was pleasant and friendly. The bathroom had a great heater and shower. It would have been nice to have a counter in the bathroom, but we got by. Would definitely come back!

A Portland Sanctuary
Traveled to Portland for an advanced PSYCH-K workshop. What a true DELIGHT of a location to have found! There is something about this location that ust has the feeling of "sanctuary" about it... stillness... quiet... relaxation. And then, there's NEO! Talking about a four-legged friend that somehow seems to just embody love and welcome! Great bed! Fully functional kitchen. My only sadness is I am returning to Portland in July two times, and this amazing property is not available. You really owe it to yourself to find sanctuary here at your next visit to Portland. It will be my first choice for a place to stay whenever I return.

Cozy and comfortable
We came to visit family, just needed a place to sleep. It was quiet, comfortable, and host checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. If you are a dog lover, as we are, there is a four legged host that is super sweet!!
