“The location of the hotel is great, we were visiting family in Torbay which is less than a ten minute drive from here. There are plenty of bars cafes and shops a short walk along from the hotel. if you dont want to pay for the hotel parking there is a public car park at the top of beach road that is a little cheaper. “I found the hotel perfect for a short stay in Torquay. Only a 10 minute walk to the seafront and free parking just outside the entrance. I had a lovely cooked breakfast every morning with some extra treats. Really friendly place and I'm going back there in the summer. I'm using the hotel as a base to meet my friends who return to Torquay twice a year.”

“The rooms were clean and well serviced. The bed was solid and comfy. The staff were very helpful. I saw people have had issues with the water pressure in the showers. I waited about twenty seconds for the pump to kick in and it was a great shower. Comments about the walls being thin. On the first night I had nightmare neighbours. “The best way to describe the Great Western is with the two words, quaint and quirky! The house is in the middle of a massive re-vamp, but that did not impinge on my stay, which was short, but long enough to form a very positive opinion. “A very nice stay , last minute booking, very warmly greeted on arrival, asked what I wanted for breakfast and what time. Nice comfortable room with adaquate en-suite facilities with plenty of water provided in the room. In the morning, I was again greeted in a warm manner and had one of the best breakfasts I’ve had. I’ve paid double price and not had this quality. The owners really couldn’t do enough for me. ”

“We stayed overnight as we drove along the coast in summer. Our room was beautiful and very comfortable with everything we needed. Our hosts were marvellous. They ensured we had everything we needed and gave recommendations for the local area. We enjoyed having a chat with them in the evening and would happily recommend their beautiful place as a great place to stay.”

“On first arrival the car park had plenty of space with a gentle slope to reception. Rang the bell to check in. All very pleasant. Guys name is John and he is as nice as they come. Checked in a went to room. All very nice again. It’s what you need on a business trip. Tv. Bed. Kettle and shower. Had a beer in the bar, good selection of tap beers. I’d missed the kitchen due to my arrival time but he offered sandwiches, pizza etc out of hours. Enjoyed a few beers in the bar and got my head down....
