Nice spot

Really nice place, comfortable and clean. One draw back for me is no spices or condiments. Salt, pepper. small bottle of olive oil and some mirin. If you plan on cooking you might bring some supplies.

Great location for the North Shore

9 night stay with my husband and adult daughter, really enjoyed the condo/resort/Princeville location. Condo was as listed. Decent sized lanai with mountain, waterfall and ocean views. The two King masters with their own bathroom was awesome. Bedrooms were roomy (1 with a TV), lots of storage space and extra fans (ceiling and floor), beds were comfy. Really dim lighting in both bedrooms and living room though, couldn't read at night. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking items, dishwasher and tablets, lots of storage. Great open floor plan. Loved the convenience of the laundry in the condo, a few pods provided. There is no AC but it's not needed. As long as the windows and the doors in the bedrooms were open the breeze was present and cooling. The problem we encountered was noise from the hot tub carrying over to the bedroom (can hear every word of the conversation). It's convenient to be adjacent to the pool but not a good thing at night. Quiet hours begin at 9pm but this was not the case for our stay. If you need to close the windows due to noise it will be uncomfortably warm, even with fans. Pool area is nice, filtered water dispenser available. Communication from the owners pre-trip was good. I was surprised there was no check in from them after we arrived. I did let them know some outlets in the kitchen were not working. Large cooler, umbrella and 2 beach chairs were provided. I was grateful for the 2 chairs but not enough for condo capacity.

Great apartment in an excellent location

We were first time travelers to Kauai. We are two adults and our 2.5 year old toddler. We had no issue accessing the property and we’re pleasantly surprised with Princeville, amenities at the property and the two-bedroom unit. We loved having in suite laundry - a huge help when you have a toddler and/or are on the island for any length of time. When I booked it, I was worried about it not having air conditioning but the three ceiling fans in the property and the proximity to the water meant that there was always a beautiful breeze blowing through the unit so we never felt hot, despite it reaching the upper 80s in temperature when we were there. The balcony is lovely to have coffee in the morning or afternoon cocktails. Overall, a spacious, clean and handy property, no issues or drawbacks, and all at a very reasonable price in comparison to other properties in the area. Thus, we recommend this property and we’ll be returning here next time we’re lucky enough to be in Kauai!!

Great Neighborhood, excellent value

Great location in Princeville, enjoyed quiet neighborhood walks and just a short drive to Hanalei. The property was clean and well appointed, would definitely stay there again.

Hele on to Kauai

Overall was great. Tv in bedroom didn't work or I couldn't figure it out. One outlet didn't work also in bedroom. Towels smelt moldy, so I had to buy laundry soap and rewash them. Coffee maker was hard to read because the button descrption was all rubbed off. Great dishwasher,great location , great lanai with a great view. located right by the pool. Great washer and dryer. King size bed super comfy. Wish offered a mini cooler and some beach items.

Tropical paradise

We totally enjoyed our stay. The view from the balcony was amazing. The beds were very comfortable. It was nice to have a hot tub and grill available. We also appreciated having basic supplies like soaps, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, dishwashing and clothes washing detergents available.

A dream

Jeff and Shana were awesome hosts. My friend and I loved our stay at their apartment. Location is great, and view is just beautiful. Bedrooms are particularly spacious and living/dining/kitchen area is nice and open with a great feeling of flow. Thumbs way up... hope to come back sooner rather than later! Mahalo for an amazing stay!

Great location!

Beautiful location, property is spacious with lovely views. There is no AC, not enough fans and lightning, since there was not much breeze during our stay, property got quiet warm during the day. Although we got 1 fan when we asked for it. Kitchen & bathroom need upgrade, very few towels, 1 laundry tablet per day was rather annoying since the washing machine is small and we had to do 2 loads a day. Basic supplies were sparse like toilet paper etc. Overall we enjoyed our stay here despite some inconveniences.

Paradise

We had such a wonderful time here in Kauai! The place was super cute, and felt secluded in a good way. Parking was never an issue, and was literally a 30 second walk to the beautiful pool. The beds were VERY comfortable and easy to sleep on. More than enough towels were available and kitchen was stocked! Had such a wonderful time :)

Perfect location and fabulous views

The condo had everything needed for two couples. When not exploring beaches and hiking we were on the lania soaking in Bali view. Yes the kitchen and bathrooms are older but everything was very clean and working. No gross carpeting. Hot tub was fun after long hikes. We all agree we would rent this exact unit again. Mahalo!

Beautiful experience!

You get the best of both worlds with views of the mountains and the ocean! Property has everything you need. The pool and spa were fantastic with grills and lots of lounging.

Modest apartment with great views

We stayed at this place with a party of 4 and we enjoyed our stay and loved the views from this apartment. The place was clean and just as shown in the pictures. The patio was a great place to start your morning with breakfast and views of the mountain or even to watch the sunset. The parking was convenient. I would definitely recommend this place.

We were looking forward to this condo but got upgraded to a house which was wonderful!

If you can afford a house it is totally worth it. We loved the privacy and our kids had fun exploring in the gardens and finding snails, slugs and worms in the grass. We had 15 cardinals eating bananas one morning and even enjoyed a few that fell from the tree before they got them all. We made fabulous grilled meals on the BBQ and really enjoyed the kitchen and open floor plan. We might look into inviting more family next year and getting a home rather than our usual condo. It was so comfortable and spacious and had every thing you need to feel right at home even while away.

Great for two couples. Clean and well stocked.

Not fancy, but clean and got the job done. We enjoyed a week here in October and it was fantastic. One thing to keep in mind: no air conditioning, windows open and fans were a must at night. I would stay here again. The location was great. The pool and hot tub were close by. Two gas BBQ grills in the pool area. One bedroom overlooks the pool and parking lot area. The other bedroom has a minor view of the ocean (1/4 mile or so away). No beach you can walk to, but a number of really good beaches 5-15 min away. Outside closet was stocked with several bodyboards, umbrellas, chairs, etc for the beach. There were a few laundry detergent pods stocked. We had to buy a few more, but we did more laundry than most I'd guess. Wifi was good. Bottom line the condo was older but clean, good location, great amenities, and comfortable.

Very nice property. The couches were a little uncomfortable, but the beds were awesome. We didn't realize there wasn't air conditioning until we got there, but fans helped to make it manageable. Terrific view.

Great home away from home, highly recommended.

We found the condo comfortable and relaxing. There were very few issues. The dryer vent could use a good cleaning, the lint trap needs to be replaced as it's broken, the lock to the main door should be fixed or replaced as it's difficult to use, and the kitchen knives could use a good sharpening (a sharpener was provided). With those being very minor issues, I would HIGHLY recommend staying here. The house was immaculate with basic household necessities provided, as well as water toys and coolers. Water pressure in the showers was great. Lighting and fans worked well as did all of the window covers. The home and the property were well kept and clean. Neighbors were all respectful of quiet times, polite and friendly.

Nice place, scary storm!

The property was nice and clean. and I have no complaints about the condo itself. We had the unfortunate experience to be there during the worst storm in years. It would have been nice to have a flashlight since we lost power a few times. We also did not have cable so we could not turn on the news and find out what was going on. When we were able to speak to our host, Jeff, he was helpful and calmed our fears. Better communication with our hosts would have gone a long way in helping us in this very unusual situation. I think it would have been wonderful had we not had to experience a fearful storm in a place we had never been, with the road closed, the only grocery store closed and thousands of other people in the same situation. The view was beautiful from our lanai as advertised. I also think they need better instructions for using the TV and emergency situations. I know this was not a normal stay, but we were terrified at times and did not know what to do. Thank you Jeff for talking to us and giving us advice on what to do or where not to go. I wish he would have come to see us in person since we were so scared and fixed the TV so at least we did not feel so isolated. I would not wish this experience on anyone, but it really was nobody's fault.

This was our third visit to the beautiful island of Kauai! We chose the Princeville Area because of its beauty and we are familiar with it. We do have a timeshare but decided to go thru VRBO for this vacation. We did not receive the email from the owners about how to get to or enter the unit until the day after we arrived. When I called the owner the night of our arrival to get the information the response on the other end was flat and not very welcoming. If we had been first time visitors, we would have been very frustrated by the whole process.The buildings are not clearly marked and the lighting is very poor on the grounds. The unit was clean and had sufficient supplies. It could use some updates. The countertops in the kitchen are stained, as is the fridge. The lighting over the dining room table is very poor for playing cards or games. The view from the Lanai is spectacular tho and we also like the proximity to the pool. It was also great to have lawn chairs, umbrellas and coolers to use. It would be useful to have a laminated card in the living room on how to operate the TV/DVD etc.. A TV in each bedroom would also be nice. The pool area is great and the grounds/landscaping are well maintained. We will be back to Kauai, but will find other accomodations or use our timeshare.

Nice condo with lovely vistas from its lanai

We have visited Kauai several times, and stayed at different Alii Kai units over the years. We enjoyed this condo's top corner spot, the views, and all the creature comforts one would need, including various gear for beach activities. Jeff & Shana are friendly, prompt, and engaged managers. Only very minor updates/fixes are needed for a 5* rating.
