Alloggio: La casa può ospitare comodamente fino a 8 in due ali identiche della camera da letto. Ogni ala ha una camera da letto matrimoniale e una camera da letto secondaria separate da un ampio bagno in comune. Le camere da letto principali hanno letti king-size; le camere da letto secondarie hanno una regina e un letto singolo. Tutte le camere sono dotate di aria condizionata regolabile autonomamente. Tutte le lenzuola e gli asciugamani sono forniti.

Great Room: Questa grande sala spaziosa comprende sale da pranzo e aree di intrattenimento. Le grandi porte a schermo si aprono sulla piscina e una vista panoramica sull'oceano. Il tavolo da pranzo può ospitare comodamente 12 persone e ha un mobile bar adiacente dotato di frigorifero e portabottiglie. Il bar per la colazione per 4 persone si trova sul pass-through per la cucina completamente moderna. La stanza delle polveri si trova sulla porta d'ingresso. L'area salotto comprende una TV al plasma da 42 pollici, una ricezione satellitare e un'ampia biblioteca di libri, film e giochi.

Casa de la Loma exceeded our expectations and this was a bucket list trip. The amenities, the mesmerizing view of the ocean and the wonderful food & service provided by Anna & Freddy made this week so enjoyable. Anna was a joy to be around and so knowledgeable of the area, but her cooking was the icing on the cake. Nothing like “happy hour” around the pool and having a wonderful dinner at 6pm without lifting a spoon! This became our favorite time of day for our family watching beautiful sunsets and anticipating a scrumptious dinner.

This looked amazing online and when we arrived, our kids said “ this place is even better than the pictures show “! Wendy was an amazing host who helped us with transportation, additional hotel stays in the area, and every recommendation we needed. The house was well equipped, Ana made us amazing meals, and the views were awesome. I’d like to give this a 7 star review if possible.

We had an incredible stay! Ana, the in-house chef, was absolutely fantastic—her meals were delicious and her local recommendations made our trip even better. The property itself was spectacular, beautifully maintained, and perfect for relaxing. The views were absolutely stunning, and the sunsets were unforgettable. The surfing in the area is excellent, and the home is truly great for all ages. We would highly recommend this property and can’t wait to return.

We are so thankful for our wonderful stay at this property. It surpassed everything we were expecting. Ana and Freddy are the absolute best. Perfect!

We can't say enough good things about Casa de la Loma. The pictures truly don't do it justice. The view is stunning and we found ourselves enjoying most of our meals outside. Ana and Freddy do an excellent job preparing meals and keeping the grounds clean. The beef tenderloin with the green peppercorn sauce was delicious, and was one of our favorite meals. Freddy makes the best mashed potatoes! Ana prepared most of our meals, cooking a variety of cuisines, including Costa Rician fried rice and fries plantains. She knew who to recommend for activities and had all our excursions within minutes. Hands down, this was our favorite vacation, and we're wanting to go back already!

Would Definitely Go Back!!!

Cannot say enough great things about our stay. It is the best VRBO property we've stayed at on an all-around basis. Great communication and help from the owner, Ana and Freddy are fantastic, the home is beautiful and perfect for 8-10 people, and Costa Rica is beautiful. Staying here you get to experience more of the local towns than you would staying at a resort. Do not hesitate booking a stay during the rainy season. There's still plenty to do (sometimes more fun in the rain), and still plenty of sunshine for the beach or pool. The cooler temps are also nice, but it was never too cold to get in the water. Last time we came to Costa Rica it was in the "summer" season and at a resort. This trip was all-around the better trip! Can't say enough good things about Ana and Freddy. She makes delicious meals, and took the time to talk and answer all of our questions about the local towns and the country to help teach us about Costa Rica. Freddy is like a ninja working in the background sweeping up, cleaning up, or grilling, while Ana takes care of everything else. They feel like part of the family by the time you leave, and you'll want to come back and visit them! If we get a chance to go back to Costa Rica, we would definitely stay at this house again (as long as Ana and Freddy are still there)!

Best home to rent in Costa Rica

We had the most amazing time at Casa de la Loma. We arrived and Ana and Freddy were there to greet us and when we walked into the home just as the sun was setting it literally took our breath away. The pictures don’t begin to show the beauty of this place. A 4 wheel drive is needed to get up the last hill but it’s not scary at all - and I’m a wimp. The town of Samara is very close if you can tear yourself away from the home. And I don’t even know where to begin to praise Ana’s‘s cooking and her attention to every detail. On top of that the pool is so wonderful with the view spread out below you as you sip a cold drink. Don’t miss the chance to stay at this wonderful home.

Perfect dream vacation for all!

The home was PERFECT and all things listed online about the house from Wendy (owner) and all reviews were 100% correct! The home is gorgeous and we felt comfortable and pampered from the point we arrived from Ana and Freddy! The communication with Wendy is quick and helpful - she was always available with any questions or changes! The food was amazing and Ana even cooked a yellowtail that we caught that day! All reviews say Ana will help with excursions upon arrival (which made us - typical over planners a bit nervous), but within our first hour Ana helped us set up everything we were hoping to do and more! I would strongly recommend this home to anyone looking for a dream vacation! We will be back! Thank you Wendy, Ana and Freddy!

Beautiful setting and delicious food!

There are a few things travelers should know that are not specified in the listing. This is not a typical VRBO. The listing refers to Ana and Freddy as caretakers. In reality, they are constantly present. They live in the lower level of the house. In addition, we were scolded for having friends visit us at the house. We were told it was rude and we needed to ask for permission. Also, travelers are expected to tip 5 to 15 percent on the accommodation.

Hillside Paradise

This property was absolutely beautiful and well maintained. The pictures are accurate but the sunset in person is truly amazing. A 4 wheel drive is a must for this area in general if you want to venture out and about. We enjoyed every minute poolside. Meals were delicious and prepared with love. Know that meal time is set and not flexible. The common areas of this home are not air conditioned so your only retreat from the heat is the pool or your bedroom (we were instructed to turn our air off when not in our room). I understand conservation but at the same time we paid for this house and we were on vacation. This rule was tough on the older people in our group that needed a reprieve from the heat without having to wait for a room to cool down. We were greeted each morning by the sounds of howler monkeys, got to see one mama and baby from the pool on our last day.

Outstanding vacation spot!

10 stars! So many positives! The views from the house are beyond beautiful. The house is very clean and well maintained and in a very safe location. Ana and Freddy are helpful, kind and very good cooks. Ana helped make all local arrangements and recommendations for our family (3 adults 2 kids ages 8 and 10) which were great. The only downside (which we expected so we weren't too surprised) was the power went out 3 different days....one day it was out 5 hours. Overall such a beautiful experience. You won't want to miss this vacation spot!

It is as good as the listing looks

Casa de la Loma is as good as it looks in the listing. The house is on a hill perhaps 200 feet above the Pacific. The coast is rocky just below the house, and the sound of the waves against the rocks is constant and calming. The view is pretty awesome. Playa Carillio is perhaps 10 minutes away and is a beautiful, undeveloped, crescent-shaped beach about 1-1/2 miles long. The house is wonderful with an open plan which opens out onto the pool and patios. We spent some quality time hanging out there. As great as all that is, the best thing about the house is Anna and Freddy. They truly do go out of their way to make everything perfect. Anna made a big breakfast every morning and an excellent dinner each evening. I think she fattened us all up a bit. For any activities you want to do, just ask Anna. She knows everyone in the area and everyone seems to know her. She booked several activities for us finding better options than we could find for ourselves. For example, the private boat tour she booked for us was only slightly more expensive than a group tour, but the seven of us had the boat and the guide all to ourselves. The group of 25 or so getting on the group tour boat looked at us with envy. Tell her what you are interested in and she will be on her phone hooking you up with the right person in minutes. I could go on about the area and the wonderful people of Costa Rica, but I'll just sum it up by saying that you will not regret a stay here.

Wow - the views

To start, Wendy was a true host and helped us with planning in advance. Communication was excellent. Upon arrival, Anna & Freddie greeted us and were wonderful hosts throughout. The house was amazing. The views, the pool, the beds, the showers. The proximity to Playa Carillo and Playa Samara was ideal. We loved the town of Samara, which seemed to retain the charm of a local town but had everything we wanted or needed. We had two families of four with four adults and four teenagers. Everyone loved it. We enjoyed having breakfast and dinners at home prepared by Anna. Anna was very helpful to us with making calls, setting up excursions, etc. Our favorite part of the day was sitting outside in the morning having coffee. As advertised, a 4WD is an absolute requirement. The only place you will need it is getting up the hill to the driveway but you will need it. If we ever return to the area it would be hard to imagine staying anywhere else!

Amazing!

From making the reservation to communicating with Wendy to meeting Ana and Freddy we had an excellent experience. Originally scheduled for 2021 Wendy was very understanding for our need to reschedule to 2022 and then to 2023 - IT WAS WORTH THE WAIT! When we arrived on Saturday and walked in the front door our 3 generation family of 10 had to pick our jaws off the floor as we took in the breathtaking view over the pool to the Pacific ocean. We explored the house and pool and we were not disappointed. Ana and Freddy helped to accommodate every need as we settled in and they delighted us with a delicious Grilled Steak and Shrimp dinner - YUM! Ana and Freddy take a well deserved Sunday off but had supplied plenty of food to make our own Sunday breakfast and we ate in town Sunday evening. After going over the menu on Monday we went shopping to pick up some of the groceries and Ana took care of arrangements for most of the meat. Each meal was prepared with skill, pride and care and we were so grateful and felt so pampered. Most days we hung out in the spacious gazebo, played card games and played or lounged in the pool. Wendy, thank you for your understanding as our 40th wedding anniversary celebration turned into our 41st and finally to our 42nd. Ana and Freddy, thank you for making us feel welcome, pampering us with your great cooking and care for the facility and making us feel like family. This stay certainly exceeded our expectations and we hope to return again and again.

Amazing Oasis with Wonderful Service

I couldn’t believe this property lived up to all the glorious reviews, but it did! The house, pool and view were perfect and Ana and Freddy were amazing! Ana’s meals were delicious and she and Freddy wouldn’t let us lift a finger to help with dishes. She also recommended and coordinated many outings for us. The whole group felt relaxed and pampered.

Amazing!

The perfect vacation! The house is fantastic and very comfortably accommodated our family but the best part was Ana and Freddie. Ana’s cooking is truly fantastic - better than any meal we ate in town. We will definitely be back!

As wonderful as we expected!

This is a fantastically remote location overlooking the ocean! We woke up each morning to the sounds of birds and monkeys. Ana & Freddy are sweet and hospitable. The view is gorgeous-we loved winding down each day in the infinity pool. Truly a magical vacation!
