Lodge a Puerto Maldonado

“True jungle experience. Brought in on long covered top boat, must walk on mud steps to get from boat to real steps. Cabins are rustic with screen windows. Bed covered in mosquito netting. Cold showers. Power on 6-9 pm, which was fine bc you go to sleep early. Meals were quite good. Our guide, Marcello, provided by the lodge, was excellent. He saw a myriad of bugs and animals we never would have spotted. Marcello very knowledgeable, made our trip. He took us out on a boat for piranha fishing and...

“It's pretty basic, hot and sticky with plenty of flying, buzzing, screeching creatures, but you're in the rainforest so what do you expect? The main lodge meeting area is open plan, very spacious with plenty of place to chill, except you can't because it's flipping hot! Good value cold drinks though and the food is reasonable considering you're in a lodge in the Amazon.
