WELCOME to our beautiful Caribbean “piece of paradise”, Villa de las Sirenas (House of the Mermaids). There are breath-taking ocean views, your own private pool and a beautifully landscaped yard. The property is completely fenced to ensure your privacy.

This is a beautifully custom-built villa with 5 bedrooms that will comfortably sleep 12 people and 5 full baths (one outside by the pool for your convenience). It is within walking distance of the ocean front beach, a convenience store, several restaurants and bars, Ocean World (a mini sea world that children will love) and a full-service marina.

The rental fee includes a professional, attentive and amazing full-time staff to make your vacation perfect. This includes a Chef, housekeeper and gardener and pool attendant. The staff is trustworthy, kind, fun and you will love them. Imagine having all of your meals prepared, your beds made daily, all of your personal needs attended to, your excursions designed and customized for you and your family and/or guests, and your transportation to and from the airport arranged. No worries, no hassle!!

Enjoy the private pool while you lounge in the sun surrounded by luscious, manicured, tropical garden areas. If you prefer, take a 2-minute walk to Cofresi beach and play in the warm, rolling waves.

Tania, our talented villa chef, will prepare and cook just about anything your heart desires, including delicious Dominican cuisine. We have a culinary guide that will help you determine what food and beverage you will need to purchase. Your food will be fresh and properly washed for consumption. To purchase your food you can send Tania with money to the grocery store to buy food of your choosing, including liquor, beer and wine, or you can accompany her to the store to purchase your food and beverage. A trip to the gocery store with Tania is always a fun exprience.

In addition to Tania, included in our staff is an assistant housekeeper, a pool/gardener/errand person, an excursion and event planner and a security guard. Our property and staff manager, Gabino, (who speaks very good English) will arrange taxis or transportation. Gus (not part of our staff) will drop by to offer you an array of excursions that will be customized for you and your party. Gus can also arrange in-house, private, massages or other spa treatments.

Recommended and closest airport is POP (Puerto Plata). The closest alternative is STI (Santiago). We can arrange transportation to and from either airport. Transportation from STI is a more expensive, but no rental car is needed. The cost of taxi and transportation is not included in the rental fee.

In advance of your arrival, several emails will be sent with detailed information regarding our villa, staff, excursions, house rules, transportation and your culinary options. This will help answer any questions and make your vacation in paradise a dream come true.

You will always have the option to contact us personally to help ensure your vacation will be a complete success.

Million dollar view!!!

My family and I spent 5 days at this lovely Villa with amazing ocean views from every balcony and the amazing outdoor space. The villa is exactly as detailed and pictured in the listing. The pool is large and absolutely sparkling clean. The on-site staff keeps the villa and pool clean, there were no bugs or spiders which in the DR is pretty common. The Stevens were very accommodating allowing me to book at the last minute. They immediately provided all the information on the villa, the staff, location, wifi password, transportation, and meal options. They truly thought of everything. I can not say enough about the outdoor space, the only minor negative is being so close to the lifestyles resort which can be loud at times however that would not stop me from returning to this villa again. We felt completely safe but having private overnight security was an added bonus. I honestly am amazed at the price of this huge immaculately clean Villa with amazing ocean views and a full staff that cooks all your meals and cleans daily, it seems to good to be true but it was and I will definitely return. Thank you for sharing your wonderful home with my Family and I.

Beautiful home; don’t come for the beach

The house was beautiful and clean. Pool was fabulous and definitely the highlight. Shower heads need to be cleaned to increase water flow. Mosquitoes were out of control. Staff were lovely and helpful. The biggest issue for this place is the area. The beach is terrible. Dirty and smells of sewage. It is not convenient or cost effective for groceries. Not a lot of options for eating out or shopping. We were a large group with kids both young and teenagers. It made us uncomfortable that the kids’ rooms were on the lower level and all adults upstairs. The bunk beds are also only suitable for small children. Overall we had a great trip and enjoyed ourselves but would not stay again.

Beautiful home...outstanding staff!

We enjoyed our visit here. The house is comfortable and incredibly clean. We enjoyed time by the pool and on the patio/verandas. The staff is phenomenal! It was so nice to be spoiled with delicious meals and a staff who took care of everything. Tania and Yanni were so efficient and are great cooks--they kept our living space immaculate. Narcisco was always available if we needed a water run and he keeps the pool spotless! Gambino was quick to respond on What's App and always had the answers we needed. He arranged cabs for us to and from the airport and to dinner one night. Gus took such good care of us--he set us up on excursions and even escorted us himself on 2 different occasions. Our trip would not have been the same if it wasn't for these wonderful people who were devoted to making sure we enjoyed our visit. We took advantage of the option for massages and facials on the veranda upstairs--this was heavenly! Highly recommend!The hosts were equally as attentive when we had questions and they truly have a beautiful home--we were so grateful it was available to stay in.If I would offer one thing that was less than perfect, it was the noise from the resort across the way. This is not any fault of the owners or the staff, but there were times of the day when their music and DJ were a bit more/louder than we cared to listen to. We played our own music by the pool and were able to tune it out. Overall, we recommend this property! Thank you for having us!

An amazing trip

From the moment I made my reservation. The owners have answered every question I had. I’ve never been to the DR before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. We arrived Saturday afternoon, I was asked if I wanted Tania to cook dinner that night and breakfast Sunday morning. We chose just breakfast so Gabino suggested a restaurant for dinner, made the reservations for us a had a taxi pick us up. The restaurant los tres cocos was amazing. I highly recommend that place. Sunday we had a full breakfast and then sat down with Tania to talk about dinners. We chose to go grocery shopping with her bc I like to and it was great to experience the difference between the US anDR. Gus came by Sunday to set up our excursions for the week. He was so good plus a couple of the guys wanted to go to specific cigar place and Gus came by a took them personally. Narisco was there every morning with a smile on his face doing what he does. He was just a pleasure, but my favorite part of the week was Tania and Yanny. The food was amazing. There was not one meal that we didn’t enjoy. They even came in one morning early bc we had an early excursion and were always happy and helpful with the house and helped a few time with cabs. Knowing what we know now, we would have eaten every meal in and skipped eating out. The whole experience was wonderful. Probably the most relaxing vacation I have ever had.

Family gathering in sunny climate

Our family has an early holiday celebration in warmer, sunny climate. The house was great and the staff friendly. Tanya is a good cultural cook. A bit of a food desert if you want to eat out and going to the grocery was 50 round trip - so, could get pricey. Recommend bringing bug spray as the mosquitoes were hungry. The weather was lovely the setting was just what we wanted. Only thing the beach was a short walk and not the prettiest. We enjoy our togetherness.

House of Mermaids review

Leading up to the stay, the hosts were open to answering any questions and the sent out a few documents so that we would know about the property. Some odd things - 1) You cannot flush toilet paper. A few in my party of 7 had some issues with this. It is unusual for someone from the U.S., but common in the DR. 2) We were at the house from July 4-12, 2024, and it was very warm. Not having air conditioning in the living areas was uncomfortable. We kept the doors and windows open, but there was no cool breeze. It was warm and bugs flew in the house. All of us had numerous bug bites when we left. We closed up the house at dusk as the bugs were attracted to the house lights at night. They need to add air conditioning to the living areas like they have in the bedrooms. 3) Although having a chef sounds good, she wasn't willing to suggest meals. We asked her what her specialties were and what she liked to cook and she really wouldn't tell us. It was nice having a chef and someone to clean up from meals, but the meals were not wonderful. They were "fine" to "good". 4) The Cofresi beach is not a place where you want to chill out and relax. Don't plan on spending time there. You will spend your time at the pool at the house. 5) The house has a 5 gallon water dispenser. Make sure that you get plenty of bottles to use for toothbrushing and dish washing. You still have to pay, but it's cheaper and easier than individual bottles. The house was nice, but we would not revisit. 7/10.

Absolutely Amazing! Our family enjoyed our stay to the fullest. I can not say enough about how great Tania, Yanny, and Narciso treated us. Royal treatment from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. Tania's cooking is amazing. Everything we ate was delicious! Our family made wonderful memories. We visited Sosua Beach which was just gorgeous. We also did some horseback riding and enjoyed that experience with our guide Rafael. A few suggestions: bring a portable bidet, insect repellent,and anti inch topical bug cream. We were not fans pf the confressi beach, lots of rocks and seaweed. Visit Sosua for a wonderful beach experience. Many thanks to the staff at the villa for taking such good care of us and preparing delicious meals.

Pool, food, and fun...Beautiful place to stay

We felt welcomed from the moment we arrived. Tania, Yany, and Narciso were there to greet us and help with the luggage. Tania and Yany had a delicious lunch of fried chicken, a fruit plate, and a salad...just one of many wonderfully tasty meals they made for us. The house is especially beautiful; true to the pictures. Great views of the ocean; it was very relaxing to sit in the rockers on the upstairs balconies, taking in the views while basking in the ocean breeze. The pool was sooo much fun; that is where we spent many hours. Narciso kept it so clean and refreshing. Chelo kept watch over the home at night to make sure everything was well. We felt safe the whole time at the home and walking to the restaurants and beach. The restaurants are within a few minutes walking; all had great food and service. Everyone we met in the area was kind and helpful…Like the taxi driver (manager) who gave us a ride back to the Villa when we got a little lost on our way back from a beach walk and ended up on the depot's doorstep asking for directions...so kind of him. Thanks to Paul and Nancy for sharing your beautiful home, to Gabino for arranging our transport and making sure things ran smoothly, to Gustavo for arranging some relaxing massages, and to Tania, Yany, Narciso, and Chelo for taking such good care of us! We had a truly memorable family vacation at Villa de las Sirenas!

Beautiful Property! Loved the pool and the staff is just top notch.

We absolutely enjoyed our time here at Villa Las Sirenas. Tonya, Joni, Narcisco, Gustavo and Gabino are all so amazing and welcoming. We throughly enjoyed all of our excursions and Gus made this all a breeze! (Paradise Island, Monkey Jungle, Dune Buggies through the jungle, Zipline, Fishing -Caught a Tuna- call High Zs and ask for Nelson! They leave right out of Ocean World, 27 Waterfalls! All of it was wonderful. Tonya's cooking was delicious 😋 😍 😌

Honeymoon Celebration

The home & staff were all AMAZING. We weren’t sure at first how to feel about having other people with us all day but we loved them!They were all so attentive, kind, & fun with our personalities! Hopefully they felt the same about us:)The home was fabulous!!Every detail met with care. On the “con” side of the stay, the beach area left much to be desired. The picture on the listing was not at all what we saw. Being on our honeymoon with friends we were all extremely disappointed. We got there when bus loads of people were partying, and the next morning the trash was littered EVERYWHERE, beach/ocean included. Between the seaweed (God’s nature) & the trash everywhere, we never got in the water or wanted to be near it even when it seemed to be sort of cleaned a couple days after.There are some small resorts and hut shops on the beach which also didn’t appear in the beach picture. Our 1 beach day included a $60 round trip taxi ride to Sosua ~ 45 mins away & included lots of local heckling. So our “beach vacay” was mostly spent enjoying the house/pool & excursions which were awesome!! Do research on excursions before booking! Thank you Gus for everything! I hate to say ANYTHING negative about our trip but I want people to know this is a LOCAL area (we wanted). There is a mini market & several restaurants (GREAT) w/ super nice locals!! We mostly ate Tania’s delish food cooked at the house! (Don Limon’s bar was so fun also). Hearts from us —> staff:) I cried when leaving!

Dream Vacation

We spent 8 lovely days at the House of Mermaids. The home is beautiful, well appointed and the best are the staff. Tania, Yani, and Narciso take care of everything for you and are so welcoming and friendly. Gabino and the Stevens ensure you have the information needed for smooth entry into DR. The Villa is beyond beautiful. The staff exceeded any expectations we had. Tania and Yanny are fantastic cooks, Narciso was there for anything we needed, Gus hooked us up with fantastic excursions, and Gabino made sure our every need was taken care of from airport transport, extra snacks, and any concerns at the Villa. Owners Paul and Nancy were quick to respond to all questions, and they offer so much general information about the DR to help ease any travel nerves. They were so kind and thorough. The beach is a short easy walk (and if you don’t want to walk, you can rent the golf cart at the Villa) It is beautiful with great waves for the kiddos, shops, eateries, rentals, etc. I cannot recommend this villa enough. Do yourself a favor and book this villa for your stay!

The House of Mermaids was very accommodating for our party of 13. The staff was wonderful and easy to communicate with. The view was spectacular. Gabino had the house ready for our arrival with our choice of beverages and snacks. Gus helped us with horseback riding, ATVs, a city tour of Puerto Plata, snorkling and jumping off waterfalls. Tania was an excellent chef. Yani and Narciso kept the house, grounds and pool very clean. Chelo made us fell safe at night watching the property. The property was an excellent choice for privacy and located within short walks to shops and restaurants. We would recommend this house to anyone visiting the D.R.
