Hello–
My name is Kayla Simon and me and my friend Darien Best stayed at Bahia Principe Ambar in Punta Cana from 1/8/2026 to 1/11/2026. I would also like to mention we both stayed at the Bahia Principe in Tulum July 2025, with Bahia Principe as our go to resort as we like to travel a lot, unfortunately this last time left us both extremely disappointed.
First, when we arrived it was my birthday, so I decided to upgrade our room to a swim up pool. I paid an extra $210 for the upgrade. Upon arriving to the room our room key wasn’t working, ultimately the door lock needed to be replaced. We had to spend at minimum 3 hours of our vacation unable to leave our room, and having to just sit there and watch them fix the door because the door was wide open between waiting for employees to find parts and fix it. By the time the problem was fixed the sun was down and the pool was closed, we even almost missed our dinner reservation as we were unable to shower or change because again, there was someone in our room or the door was wide open as we waited for the employees to get back with the correct parts. After it was fixed, we still needed to find someone to let us into our room the remainder of the night until they were able to reprogram our bracelets. This situation was extremely disappointing and ultimately caused us to waste an entire day of our vacation, let alone the day of my birthday. I couldn’t get dressed and ready to celebrate as I wanted to, I wasn’t able to use the pool,
