This is a great resort. It’s beautiful, clean and the staff is really friendly. We had a few issues. Half of our group had a gasto bug that seemed to last 24 hours. After speaking with people from many other resorts (our flight was cancelled so we had the chance to talk to so many people), it seems as if it wasn’t specific to this resort - but to DR in general.
Our son (5 y/o) sliced his foot open quite badly on one of the pools - second from the reception desk, near the swim up bar) we travelled with 2 nurses who thought it could have been stitched. We stayed away from that pool for most of the trip, returned on the last day and lo and behold - he got another cut. Steer clear or put water shoes on.
There were also some issues with water in our room - not long lasting but sort of annoying when you can flush the toilet - family of 5 that’s sort of annoying, but not long lasting so it was fine.
There are tons of complaints about the buffet. We really enjoyed the buffet - nothing to complain about there. Al la carte restaurants also take a lot of heat but we thought they were quite good - not knock your socks off good, but enjoyable.
The beach was fantastic. The slides were really awesome. Whatever you want is fairly close by. The food truck on the beach had the best burgers. Still dreaming of these. The bars were great, they would mar whatever you wanted and didn’t wait terribly long anywhere. The beach bar was the best service, but really, they’re all good. 4/5
