Transformed into a private home in the 70s, this magical space offers a unique getaway for those looking for an experience like no other. The original hardwood floors, wood-burning fireplace, antique chandelier & clawfoot tub from the Banff Springs Hotel showcase this home's incredible journey. Easily located by its iconic bell tower, the Smith's Church House welcomes you into its next chapter as your new favourite hol(y)day.

The upstairs loft features a dedicated workstation with a desk & office chair to let you clock-in, in style.


LAUNDRY
This unit features an ensuite washer/dryer with laundry pods and dryer sheets for your use.


PARKING
You will have access to the driveway with ample space for up to 4 vehicles.


CONSUMABLES
Please note that we provide a starter supply of consumables (toilet paper, paper towel, coffee etc.) but do not provide refills during the stay.


CHECK-IN/OUT
After booking, you will receive access to your personalized guest portal, with information on the property and its amenities. 3 days prior to check-in, you will receive detailed check-in instructions and directions to the property.

We have set up a seamless entry for our guests. There will be no reason to slow you down upon your arrival. Please do not hesitate to reach out if there's something you need during your stay with us.

Wilmer BC is a tiny community situated on one of the benches overlooking the Rocky Mountain Trench, just a stone’s throw from Invermere – about 5 minutes’ drive, actually. Nestled among hills and valleys amid breath-taking scenery and clear mountain air, Wilmer is a photographer’s dream and a must-visit  for anyone who loves history. Put this spot on your itinerary when you are planning your vacation in the Columbia Valley.

In the late 1890’s, the City of Wilmer was a booming mining town and a few of the buildings are still standing today. They include the Delphine Lodge (1899), the Presbyterian Church (1903; where you will stay) and the Bank of Montreal. For a history lesson on the community (or a scoop of delicious Foothills Ice Cream), swing by the Delphine Lodge only a 5-min walk away.

When you stay here, you'll be close to:

James Chabot Beach (7-minute drive): Here you’ll find plenty of picnic tables for eating with the family, shallow water, making it perfect for swimming with the kids and ample space to launch a kayak or stand-up paddle board.

Radium Hot Springs (23-minute drive): Take a dip in the hot springs and relax while soaking in a blend of scentless minerals that’ll leave you feeling brand new. An experience you won’t want to miss.

The Whiteway/Kinsmen Beach (10-minute drive):  A 30km multi-use trail groomed for both cross-country skiing and skating. It was granted the world record as the world’s longest-maintained skating trail by the Guinness Book of World Records.

Panorama Mountain Resort/Greywolf Golf Course (20 minute drive): In the winter, enjoy the top-ranked mountain resort for skiing, snowboarding, cross-country adventures & more. In the summer, try out mountain biking or enjoy their world-renowned course. Ranked among the top 15 best courses in Canada, perfectly positioned against the backdrop of the Purcell mountains, this is a must for any golf enthusiast. Also close by are Windermere Valley Golf Course, The Ridge at Copper Point & Eagle Ranch Golf Course.

The Farmer’s Market (9-minute drive): Enjoy shopping for fresh produce and local specialties every Saturday morning this summer at our town’s local market.

A car is highly recommended to get around the Valley and its many highlights as transport options are limited in our beautifully remote location.

We kindly request that all guests treat the space with care as it's a historical building within the community and we hope to persevere it for many more years to come.

To abide by all legal requirements and building security rules, you may be asked to provide a copy of your official government-issued photo ID, confirm your contact information, provide a valid credit card with a name that matches your ID, and pass through our verification portal.

Please be advised that all guests will be asked to sign a rental usage agreement that governs the terms of the stay. By completing the reservation you agree to the following:

* You understand that your check-in instructions might be withheld until you have successfully completed our verification portal.


HOUSE RULES:
1. Please respect the neighbours and the quiet hours between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM. There is a noise monitor in the unit that will test decibels throughout the day.

2. Neither parties nor events will be permitted on the property. The maximum occupancy for this unit cannot exceed more than 7 people.

3. There is no smoking permitted on the property including vapes. Any proof of smoking will result in a $300.00 fee for odour removal.

4. Although a maximum of two (2) pets are permitted on the property we ask that you please confirm the size and breed(s) of them prior to arrival. Please wipe off their paws before entering, keep them off the linens and furniture, and use the backyard by the shed for their bathroom breaks to avoid yellowing the grass on the front & side yard. Any excessive dog hair or damage will be charged to the guest's name on the reservation. Finally, dogs must always be on a leash outdoors as well.

5. We provide high-quality hotel linens for our property and proper makeup removal cloths. Any stained linens will be charged to the guest.

6. Any items that are mistakenly left behind that you wish to have returned will be shipped via Cash on Delivery along with a $30.00 admin fee.

7. Guests must confirm current fire bans prior to using the fire pit. Any tickets issued for fires during a fire ban will be billed directly to the main renter on file for the respective date(s).

It was above and beyond expectations. Everything was clean and fresh. The loft is something. The games room was big and fun to use. The fire place and main room is impressive. Outside was peaceful and quiet. Animals in abundance. Great for family's. Had a fantastic time.

Very nice property, well decorated, nice games room and exceptionally well stocked kitchen. Water was leaking badly into tub when we arrived. We were told it would be fixed in the next week. We were there a week and it was never fixed. Dishwasher did not work, snow hazard from roof was never attended to, only 3 bedrooms and the main bedroom did not have a door.

We traveled with our daughter's family, and found the Smith's Church House to be perfect for our stay near Invermere and Radium Hot Springs. Quiet neighborhood. Comfortable beds. Very well equipped home and kitchen. Game room was fun to use. Nice view of the mountains from the property. Unique experience to stay in the old church. Enjoyed the nearby town of Invermere.

We really enjoyed our stay.  The accommodations are amazing, they have thought of everything.  We were constantly talking about how nicely decorated it is.  Just look at the pictures online to see for yourself.  It very clean, beautifully renovated, new / modern everything, incredibly well-stocked and located in a quiet area on a very quiet street.  It is only minutes from Invermere and Panorama.  We liked it so much that we are already talking about staying here again this winter to go skiing.  Great communication with the host as well. You will not be disappointed. We highly recommend staying here and we plan on returning.

Beautifully decorated. Amazing kitchen. And wonderful views. Very peaceful and quiet but close enough to the towns of Radium Hot Springs, Invermere on the Lake, and Panorama if you want some activities. The kids loved the games room.
