Hotel great- location and cleanliness. Staff friendly but inexperienced. Restaurant was a negative. Lukewarm rather tasteless food which resulted in one our party being unwell in the night. A shame really. We’d probably return to the hotel but avoid the restaurant.

Pleasantly surprised by our accommodation, we booked the meadow pavilion last minute which was idyllic. The whole property and grounds were extremely well kept. We didn't eat here as we were late arriving but the smells from the kitchens were amazing. We will definitely be booking here again in the future.

Very enjoyable stay.
Very enjoyable stay. Beautiful interiors and wonderful grounds. The restaurant was superb. Very handy for the channel tunnel. Would definitely book another stay.

Comfortable and clean room. Very comfortable bed. Excellent meal. Helpful staff. Perfect position for a Calais crossing. Would recommend this hotel.

A beautiful 18th Century chateau in large grounds and ample parking. We had a superior room which was large and comfortable. The staff were polite,friendly and professional, but it was occasionally hard to find someone to serve at the bar. The breakfasts were very good and the choice was satisfactory .The dinners were excellent with a small choice for each course, but the cooking was memorable. We would certainly return of going to that area again.

Good stopover
Due to its proximity to the Eurotunnel we have stayed here several times. The restaurant is excellent. However, on this occasion our room was the smallest we have had and the toilet system smelled offensively.

Have stopped for lunch on a few occasions when travelling in France but on this occasion decided to make a special trip to stay a couple of nights at the Chateau. Beautiful location, friendly and pleasant staff, nice room with large comfortable bed. Excellent dinner but breakfast a little disappointing.

A lovely hotel overall
This was a repeat stay, it’s a lovely hotel with a very good restaurant. One slight comment was that we had a great dinner, and wanted to go for a drink afterwards - but they had locked up the bar and this was not very late, missed business for them and a slight annoyance to us as guests.

Could do very much better
A beautiful setting convenient for Calais. Attentive staff but poor accommodation. The room and bedding were not clean; particularly the bathroom. The bathroom was not ventilated and smelled, and the door did not close. The restaurant served a single 38 euro menu with several choices, which was reasonable value, if a little contrived or sub-nouvelle cuisine. The wine list also offered reasonable value. When informed about the problems with the room the senior staff gave the impression of being both well aware of the issues but had no intention of addressing them.

A great location
An excellent location 20 mins from Calais just off the Rue d' Anglaise. The rooms are a little small but the beds are large. The hotel restaurant is superb and worth the stopover alone.

The grounds were lovely. The room was beautiful. Some of the staff came across as snooty but really the only 2 things that were less than perfect was the lack of cups for the tea and coffee offered in the room and the shower had a very slick bottom and there were no handrails which did make me a little nervous.

J'ai rencontré plusieurs difficultés : - A l'enregistrement. Le réceptionniste ne trouvait pas ma réservation faite via Hotels.com. Présentation du mail - Information erronée sur la prise du petit-déjeuner. Il m'a été indiqué 7h00 alors que c'était 7h30. - Pas de possibilité de me montrer au personnel du petit-déjeuner car l'accès à la salle est cadenassé et personne ne répondait par téléphone - Mon petit déjeuner s'est fait pendant l'installation des mets donc il ne fut pas complet mais par contre j'ai payé la prestation entière - Pour le règlement de mon diner, celui-ci était introuvable car il avait été reporté sur une autre chambre

Hi, A long walk from the carpark with all our gear didn't help, the Chateau and the grounds are surperb however a little pricy for the dog stay and the breakfast.

The ideal place for a stopover before or after a Eurotunnel crossing. The chateau is in a beautiful setting, and the rooms are pleasant (although warm - this is an old building with no air-con in the bedrooms, so we were glad not to have been there in the height of the heatwave). What lets the place down is the staff. I sat in the (deserted) bar area and a waiter flitted in and out, however didn't once ask me if I'd like something, or even greet me. Eventually I had to go to the bar and ask if I could please have a drink! There were only two waiting staff on duty, and they seemed to double up as bar tenders, however neither could manage a smile, and neither made us feel particularly welcome (although this didn't seem to be a problem when French guests entered.By the way, I am fluent in French...) The food was pleasant - overly fiddled with, and more than a little pretentious - but flavoursome all the same, and reasonably priced. One thing I will say is, if you sleep with the window open, watch out for mosquitos - my daughter and I left covered in bites! The little devils were running rampant after the recent storm... Would I go back? Yes, I probably would, for the location and convenience more than anything. However, please train your staff to smile and be more welcoming, Cocove, and then you will be onto a winner!

Loved the orchard, kittens and chicken. The room was ok, not extremely clean. The restaurant was not good. If you have any gluten or dairy intolerance, i don't advise you to have any dinners or breakfasts there. They don't care about the dairy part, they kept bringing me sauces and creams made of dairy. And the breakfast mainly consists of pastry and bread. Plus boiled eggs that you have to boil yourself.

Lovely place to stay with good food. The room was a little warm (no air conditioning) and check in a little slow as one person seemed to be doing bar, waiter and check in but it was a very pleasant stay overall. It was also very handy for Calais.
