Due to the use of both motorized and paddle boats, Sitangkai is known as the "Venetian Municipality of the Philippines". It is also the southernmost point of the Philippines. It is a mere 14kms from the Borneo coast of Sabah, Malaysia. Travelling here requires coordination with the local tourism office and the military. #LocalSecrets #Adventure #culture #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines

In the Philippines, specifically in Datu Saudi Ampatuan, Maguindanao, a noteworthy mosque that stands for peace has become quite a spectacular attraction. Can you guess what color? Yes. This is the Pink Mosque, or formally called, Masjid Dimaukom.
Masjid Dimaukom is clad in vibrant shades of pink – from the carnation-colored walls adorned by golden arches of its glass windows, to the lively cerise domes accented with silver spires, as well as silver star and crescents that face east. But that’s not it. The spacious interiors dominated by pink hues from its walls to the high ceilings, the shiny carmine of the tiled flooring, the bold golden pillars – the inside is equally captivating. This edifice is certainly an eye candy from inside out.
Beyond the structure’s aesthetic appeal, the Pink Mosque was built, primarily, as a sacred place of prayer, and also a symbol of peace. A unique structure that exemplifies harmony among Filipinos, regardless of religion, ethnicity, culture, and social class. The mosque is a brainchild of a man who believes in his love for the country, its people, and above all, the love for Allah.
Grand Mosque of Cotabato City
The Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mosque in Cotabato City is the largest mosque in the Philippines and second largest in Asia. It was a gift of the Sultan of Brunei to the emerging Muslim population in the Southern Philippines. #history

Jolo, Sulu in Mindanao earned its popularity and notoriety mostly for the wrong reasons. A history of kidnappings make this place an unpopular tourist destination. What the news and social media fail to show however are the people – their warmth, hospitality and generosity as well as the natural beauty of this place like this amazing sunrise. After days of immersive travelling, I came to realize that it doesn’t matter if we have different religions, or that we dress differently, eat different dishes, or speak different dialects. Diversity is not about how we are different from one another. Diversity is about embracing one another’s uniqueness. #ItsMoreFunInThePhilippines #LocalSecrets #Adventure #sunrise #Outdoors #trovember
