I may have been warned about the Red Roof Inn brand before, but I repeatedly told myself "surely it cannot be THAT bad" and "I can survive a few days, it'll be fine." Boy, was I wrong. I had higher hopes because the pictures (surely now VERY old) indicated a pretty nice quality room. Not the case.
Upon first entering my room, my nose was assaulted with a stale, dirty smell and my shoes picked up some unknown sticky substance that had been tracked through most of the room. I wet one of my towels in an effort to "mop" the stick substance throughout the room, and the towel turned brown, indicating that the floor had not been cleaned in who knows how long.
Here are some other fun discoveries:
- Stained bed sheets
- Stained towels
- Poor shower water pressure (little more than a trickle)
- Non-functioning window a/c unit
- Broken interior bathroom door handle (came off in my hand)
- Cracked, slow, old TV
My room was also not serviced by housekeeping once in the three nights I stayed.
Beware.
