Sand and Surf



The Space:

Sand & Surf is a beautiful home with vaulted ceiling, plenty of space, and the sandy shores just beyond the doors. Just half a block to the beach, this home is perfect for those who love a short walk to the beach.



The home has three levels with bedrooms on each. A loft room upstairs provides additional sleeping space. Head into the vibrant kitchen when hunger strikes and prepare a tasty vacation meal together. The living room features a beautiful stained glass window. The furnishings are comfortable leather. You'll especially love the retro-modern stereo/CD that looks like a radio from the 1940s. There is a TV with streaming capabilities, and a Bluray and DVD player.



Outside you will find two decks. The upstairs wrap-around deck is lovely with plenty of room to sit and relax. The lower deck features more seating.

The house was as advertised but the management company could of been much better. The check in process was cumbersome, strange to have to take a selfie of yourself and share a photo of the front and back of your drivers license. Also, the hide a bed had a note on it saying that it was broken, we reached out to management about it, and they said they would make sure that it was fixed for the next guests, didn't help us or offer to help us in any way with the issue. Very slow response time when I asked questions as well. House was nice, but how it's managed made for a frustrating stay.

Great communication but not the best with being flexible or accommodating. The place was very dusty, and bathroom fans didn’t work, mold around sinks, areas in kitchen were greasy and messy from previous spills. Around the oven it was very dirty and not very sanitary. The musty basement wasn’t the most pleasant, and we weren’t sure how often blankets and other items were washed. No dishwasher. We loved the easy access to the beach and parking. It was nice and private and had a fun cabin feel.

Fine not fancy

Decent place just a block or so from the ocean. Furnishings are worn but comfortable. Main bed is very soft. Some issues with cleanliness (dog hair, dirty bathmats, musty smell in the basement). Main concern is that the stairs are not safe for small children, and the single provided baby gate was broken. The stairs to the basement are completely open on one side (aka falling hazard) and the stairs to the loft are open beneath each step.

Just ok

This property is corporate owned. There are no supplies in the kitchen only pepper. No beach toys, chairs etc..the home wasn’t cleaned properly ants in kitchen and a condom under bed. We were left with 1 trash bag for 6 days and were told they do not replenish supplies. Mildew/mold smell in basement. We have rented other properties and they have been privately owned and rented through VRBO, there is a stark contrast between these and Vacasa owned. I’m definitely going to avoid vacasa owned properties in the future it’s obvious they will rent out properties without putting any money into them. A positive is the location, so close to beach (no view) and quiet street.

House was great

Had a hard time getting in and getting a hold of someone for help. But after that we had a FABULOUS stay. Super close to beach ( access down to the beach was not the best but no fault of rental). Close to town also so didn't have to drive much for restaurants or gift shopping. The house it's self was roomy and everyone slept comfortably. Lots of pots and dishes for feeding our large group ( no dishwasher) .

Dirty/unclean

This is the worst rental property we’ve stayed at. The property indicated no dishwasher, we basically washed the dishes upon our arrival. All utensils, plates and pot and pans that were stored and supposedly clean were all dirty meaning food caked in to forks and sppons, no exaggaration. Plates are wet and soapy with some stains/food residue. The same goes with pots and pans. Contacted Vacasa and they reported this to the local cleaners. I received a call and all he can say was apologies. We paid the asking price and cleaning fees with no reservation in the hopes that we will have a clean and worry free vacation. It was the total opposite. We’ve rented homes and condos through VRBO from California, WA, OR AND Hawaii and have not had this experience until now. It was a total disappointment. I will not go back to this property nor recommend staying here.
