Backyard Retreat

Welcome to our Backyard Farmhouse here in Lancaster, PA. Our Backyard Farmhouse retreat is a very spacious, newly renovated farmhouse, perfect for your stay here in beautiful Lancaster County. It is located steps away from all the famous places and things to do in Lancaster County. Or if you love to stay in, the backyard has a private retreat with an outdoor grill, fire pit with chairs, and hot tub (note: It is just a small walk from the house.) This 4-bedroom house is the perfect place to bring your friends and family.

This Farmhouse consists of a full kitchen and dining room, living room, washer and dryer, and huge spacious entryway. There are four spacious bedrooms with two full bathrooms. Guests are welcome to use the Swing sets outside for the children, and the backyard as well and pickleball court.

We are located right along a busy road, Route 30, so you may get some road noise during the night time, although the house has all new windows to help keep the noise out. This is also located right next door to my business, so there is some furniture and sheds out, as well as a few Swing sets and pavilions.

The place was very clean and appreciated the early check in so we could settle in and get ready for the performance at the Sight & Sound Theater. The house had everything we needed. Location unfortunately was on an extremely busy road and difficult to get into and out of driveway. Because of busy road the noise can be an issue especially at night. Other than that the house was perfect for our girls weekend.

Ideal for family with small children. We brought our.Six grandkids and their parents for a mini vacation. Michael could not have been more accommodating and responsive. The access to all of the children playground/pickle ball .... Added variety to our stay..... We never used the hot tub, but did use the fire pit almost every night..... Fun for the kids..... Relaxing for all the adults at the end of a long day. Close proximity to everything we wanted to see. We will definitely be back

The house was awesome. It had everything we needed. Our rooms were big enough and clean and comfortable. There was a little draw back with the traffic but it wasn’t too bad. Also there were spot lights on the front of the house that stayed on all night. They need blackout curtains in the bedrooms. Other than that it was perfect.

Our group of 7 senior friends stayed at this property from 9/22-29/2025. We had a very pleasant stay in Ronks enjoying the many Amish related activities. The property is airy on first floor with all 4 bedrooms on second floor. The kitchen pans and kettles were badly scratched and burnt causing us to go out and purchase a set to use while there. Although, the owner had ant traps positioned in the kitchen upon arrival, we had a serious ant problem during our stay. We brought these issues to the owner’s attention which he says he will address. The property porches and deck are very nicely stocked with lovely furniture. The property is located on a heavily traveled highway, thus can be noisy for relaxing outside and sleeping.

This was a nice place to meet and stay for a weekend getaway with friends! The house was in good condition and clean. We all had our own bedroom and the patio was very nice with the firepit. Although it is on busy Rt 30, it was quiet enough inside the house. Our host Michael Zook, was very responsive via emails and all went smoothly. We walked to check out the outdoor hot tub area and, although the hot tub seemed to be in okay condition, the rest of that sheltered area was rather dirty. Behind the bar area, there was trash and even an empty wine bottle. This outdoor area definitely could use a good cleaning. But, other than that, we did have a very good weekend.

Great for families

I was a bit nervous about this property being close to Route 30 because of my children but it wasn’t an issue for us at all! During our stay we barely noticed the road. The home was quiet inside and there was a lot to do on the property between the multitude of play sets , pickleball, and the opportunity to explore. The location of the home was also very convenient, minutes from our planned activities and a short ride from Lancaster. All of us enjoyed the home, it was well furnished with comfortable beds and clean throughout. The AC is dual zone and worked great and the kitchen was huge which was great for preparing meals. Overall, very comfortable, very happy, and we’d stay again if it’s available when we schedule our next trip to the area.

Great for Young Families!

The property was only a few minutes to Dutch Wonderland and had 3 wonderful playgrounds set up right outsidethe back door. Bedrooms comfortable and clean, new bathrooms, well stocked and large kitchen.

Clean and Beautifully decorated

Check-in was a breeze, enough parking for the 5 cars we had. The hot tub is kind of far away, but in a nice secluded, quiet area away from the road. The big beautiful bar by the hot tub could use some TLC but it was quaint and relaxing back there.The house was beautifully decorated in every room, cozy and sooo clean. Space for everyone. We really enjoyed our time here.

Great central location for visiting Lancaster County

Location is close to Lancaster County attractions and Lancaster City. The house is close to the highway, but tight. Bring a sound machine and you’ll be fine! The house is by itself with great privacy, great playground at the back entrance and good parking. We loved the Breeo fire pit and lovely sunsets.

Sight and Sound

We thoroughly enjoyed the house. It was just beautiful setting. Clean and neat. The outdoor side of the property is just lovely with swing sets for children with the fire pit and the cornfields made it just beautiful. Very spacious and comfortable for our family of seven. Water pressure was low and noise from the highway was noticeable at times. Other than that, it was a lovely stay.

Relaxing Cops

The stay was good! However the property pictures are misleading. The burn pit, hot tub and bar are about 150 yards away from the property. And not in good repair, we had to make due wit things around the house. The host was superb, and even showed our group members how to play pickle ball. Overall it was still a good stay.

Wonderful access to Sights and Sounds Theater

The home is beautiful. It was spacious and clean. My only thoughts are for moms looking for somewhere that their small children can run freely. It is not mentioned or shown in pictures the highway that is less than 50ft from the front door. It was extremely busy, with high moving traffic, which made sleeping somewhat difficult as well. Additionally, there is a Backyard furniture business that separates the house from the backyard. It wasn’t an inconvenience, it was just startling when I was expecting it to be a quiet stay in the country. Otherwise, the house was beautiful and clean. The playground equipment was extremely nice to have (it was there for the business, but accessible for house guests) and we were very close to several locations we were there to visit.

Family Fun in a Farmhouse

My family and I really enjoyed our time in Ronks. The house was very spacious, and the location made it easy to get to all the sites in the Hershey/Lancaster area. Loved the swing & rocking chairs on the front porch. Our only real concern was the low water pressure. Both showers in the house could not be use at the same time.

Clean, Nice House Close to Everything

The house was very clean and bedrooms were nice size with comfortable beds. Kitchen is large and well equipped. Location of house is only minutes away from many attractions including the Sight and Sound theater which was our destination. We had a little snafu getting our entry code. It was not in any email, owner was out of town, and not responding to VRBO messages. Luckily the business next door is owned by the same person and an employee was able to reach the owner for the key code. The only negative thing was the proximity to Route 30, it's literally in the front yard and traffic noise was constant. Not really an issue during the day, but sleeping was a challenge.
