SETTIMANA SCONTATA DEL 10 AGOSTO e Autunno / Primavera !!!!Vieni a stare con noi sul lago Higgins, il 6 ° lago più bello del mondo secondo il National Geographic. Il nostro cottage è privato, è su 1/4 acri di terreno con 160 piedi di facciata spiaggia. Siamo sulla parte meridionale - "piccolo lago" È la zona più ricercata per le sue acque più calme, la spiaggia sabbiosa e le acque poco profonde amate dalle famiglie. Abbiamo un molo privato, ormeggio per la vostra barca per l'intero soggiorno, un minimarket e due ristoranti raggiungibili a piedi. Tutte le camere hanno vista sul lago, pino nodoso in sala da pranzo, salotto e camera familiare con finestre avvolgenti che si affacciano sul lago; una piccola biblioteca di libri e video; Giochi; Il nostro cottage ha un vero "up nord" sentire, è rustico, pieno di carattere e molto confortevole. È nella nostra famiglia da oltre 80 anni. Non è un cottage moderno, ma includiamo molte comodità per il vostro comfort (vedi servizi) e lo manteniamo molto pulito. Vi accoglieremo quando arriverete e sarete il vostro concierge personale sul lago Higgins e le aree circostanti. Questo cottage è un grande valore perché sarebbe in affitto per centinaia di più a notte se fosse stato completamente rinnovato - ma ha ancora molte comodità, un sacco di terra, e wifi e via cavo. Charming, private, cozy cabin! Amazing lake views and sandy frontage. The kitchen had everything we needed, as did the cabin. Very spacious, with plenty of room for rest and relaxation. Wendy is incredibly attentive and responsive. Absolutely wonderful!

We had fun. The cabin was great with 2 bathrooms. We had a few small concerns, as can be expected with a cabin in Northern Michigan. Wendy the host was great to deal with and you can tell that she was very motivated to make things right. Great communication. Thank you.

The property was perfect for our needs. Just steps to the water and we played all day. The beach is sandy and the water is crystal clear. The cabin is rustic which is what we wanted for our “up north” getaway. No worrying about needing to use coasters or inevitably dragging a bit of sand inside. The kitchen had everything we needed to make great meals. The outside had plenty of places for our group to spread out. It was the best family vacation we’ve had!!

Location on a beautiful lake with a nice view. People in the area are very friendly and found a couple of good places to eat. The cottage was clean it is older so as expected it doesn’t have all the comforts of a home. If you like rustic and a cabin atmosphere this is a great place. The host was really nice and informative. Lots to do in the area, rent a pontoon or canoe the Au Sable river!

Nostalgic cabin feel

We loved our time with the family at the cottage. The main room and front porch are highlights. You have to appreciate the hardwood floors, pine walls and ceiling, and massive field stone fireplace with full mantle. You just don't see rooms like that anymore. It's a great atmosphere to gather and catch up with everybody or just sit by yourself and read a book.

Wonderful vacation

We had a great week staying at Wendy’s Higgins Lake cottage! Wendy was a great communicator- I reached out with several questions and she was quick to respond and very friendly. The cottage was clean and perfect for our small family. The beach was so relaxing and amazing for our small children. We would love to be back!

Best location on Higgins Lake

My husband and our 4 teenage boys stayed for a week at Wendy's amazing place. The location was absolutely beautiful and the views of the lake were unbeatable. The space outside was great for playing corn hole relaxing in the hammock and gathering around the fire pit. There were a lot of trees for privacy and shade and the beach was amazing and clean. The water out front was shallow and beautiful and made for a great view lying in the chaise lounge chairs provided. Inside the layout was perfect for a bigger family like ours. The back bedroom offered privacy away from our teens and had a private bath right off the bedroom. The 2 other bedrooms were a good size one with a queen bed and the other with 2 twins and were close to the main bath which was very large and spacious. The front room with 2 additional twin beds and an amazing view of the lake There is a dining area with a living area that gave us enough room to spread out when we were not on the lake. Yes, the cabin is old-fashioned but my husband and I felt like we were at our grandmother's place with all the homey details. The cabin was very clean and was a lot bigger than the pictures led us to believe. Wendy was incredible to work with and her communication and care for our stay were beyond excellent. We will be back without question!

Love This Cottage

We have stayed here for several years now and will return again. First of all, it has a great beach for lounging and swimming. Higgins Lake is one of the clearest and largest lakes in Michigan. A boat mooring line is provided and plenty of room to add another, which we do. The cottage is always clean. It seems small at first sight, but it accommodates our group of 4 couples nicely. I personally have slept in all the bedrooms over the years but love the porch the best. It is so great to fall asleep listening to the waves lapping on the shore. Fires at night in the back yard are always a nice way to end the day. Wendy is a fantastic host. She is always available to answer questions and invites ideas on how she can make our stay even better.

Beautiful lakefront peice of history.

You will come for the lakefront location, but stay for the beautiful historic up north cabin. It has all of the amenities you need with the charm of simple cabin up north. We loved it as a family, but really look forward to visiting it again with friends to enjoy the serenity that’s found in this location. This place is a true gem.

Simple Rustic Clean

The stay was wonderful. As advertised, the house was rustic but had everything we needed. Wendy was easy to work with and kind. Our toddlers did great in the house and on the beach. We highly recommend this home for your vacation.

A truly wonderful week

The cottage was exactly what we expected and we all loved it. We had all the conveniences of home with the beautiful view of the water. Couldn’t have picked a better place to celebrate our 65th anniversary with all our family with us. The Iconic Up North Getaway

If you are looking for the iconic up north experience, we strongly suggest Wendy's place. Wendy's family home offers the perfect mix of rustic-ness and modern amenities that made for a memorable trip. The property is as advertised, i.e. private drive right on the water that offers amazing sunrises and sunsets. A short drive to downtown Roscommon for all needs and groceries. The home is a well cared for 80 year old gem that is warm and welcoming. While it carries a rustic feel (wood floors, classic cabinetry, stone fireplace) it also has all modern needs for comfort. There is no A/C...but do not worry. Our week was a record heat wave (90 plus) and we were still comfortable at night with a fan or two (2 adults, one infant). As for Wendy, she goes above and beyond as a host. Prior to the stay her guidance was invaluable (saved us $400 on a pontoon rental). After the stay, her follow up was impeccable. We did have two power outages due to weather. Although technically not her responsibility, she checked in on us regularly and helped us navigate a late dinner. We hope to return to Wendy's home again...we believe you will enjoy it as much as we did.

Beautiful views!

Our stay at the cabin was an amazing experience! Sitting by the water and dipping your feet in by the dock was the perfect vacation. Wendy also made things very easy and was very communicative. Anything we needed she was on it! As mentioned in the description, this is definitely a cottage feel, but we knew that going in and actually prefer that! Also, make sure to reach out to Load and Go Rentals for kayaks for your trip. They drive them over and will leave them with you allowed for tons of time on the water. Will be staying here agon

Beautiful week on a beautiful lake!

My family and friends had a wonderful time on our stay at Higgins Lake! There were 4 adults and 3 children and the house had more than enough room to accommodate us all comfortably. The beach area was awesome - perfect for young kids to play in the sand and swim in the lake as it stays shallow. Wendy is very informative and does all she can to ensure you have a great stay. Highly recommend!!

Wonderful week vacation on the lake!

The property is exactly as it is described, but the pictures really do not do it justice. It is much bigger than we thought it would be and there was so much great space for our family. We loved being right on the beach and hanging out on the property. The kids laid in their hammocks in the shade and we had a wonderful time. The host, Wendy, is amazing and incredible helpful. Her communication was excellent and we always felt very taken care of. If you are looking for a place to stay right on the lake at beautiful Higgins Lake - we would highly recommend this property!

Peaceful neighborhood

We loved the property! We had 8 people, 6 of which were single or young adults, and everyone got their own bed! The beds were so comfortable too! The cabin was easy to find with gps and near a gas station while not far from other things like ice cream parlors. The beach is sandy & beautiful while the lake area had minimal rocks. We’ve stayed at many cabins around the lake and this is definitely in the top couple. Wendy was so easy to get a hold of and always very kind. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting a calm and peaceful lake front vacation.

Great house great experience

My family and I throughly enjoyed our experience at this waterfront cabin. It was a good size, clean, easy to find and had privacy from neighbors. The boat launch is about 3 houses away and a very short walk back to the cabin. Wendy was easy to work work with, easily accessible and provided clear instructions on our stay. We enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely stay here again!
