We recently stayed here for a wedding and, despite our busy schedule, we thoroughly enjoyed our time.I was particularly impressed by how comfortable the home was and how relaxing it felt to be on the beach. The privacy and peacefulness of the property were also greatly appreciated. Plus the view was phenomenal!I hope to have the opportunity to return in the future when I can dedicate more time to fully experience everything your place has to offer.

Overall, we enjoyed our stay on Higgins lake! The host was quick to communicate.I thought the rental was clean, however they do not wash comforters between guests. I thought it was odd that we had to provide bath towels. There also weren't any hand towels in the bathrooms. Kitchen had everything we needed. The half bath off the kitchen smelled strangely like kitty litter and/or a porta potty.The location was great and it was easy to find. We enjoyed sitting on the dock and using the beach area. It was great for a weekend trip!!

Great waterfront location. Some rundown homes on the street. Everything was a little shabby. Carpet, furniture , countertop, cooking utensils have seen better days. Flooring had a few trip hazards and my partner almost fell on the deck stairs. Was not sure why we were supposed to wipe out sinks, surely cleaners clean them. They.do not wash bedspreads between rentals. You have to bring a lot of towels, Detergent , papergoods. We just were hesitant about cleanliness of the home. Lots of room, great beach. Dented canoe. Nice expensive dock. I have the same one. The owner is very nice.

July family vacation

3 sibling’s and spouses getaway. Facility was very nice, weather was great, although we were able to get by without it, I would note that the property has no AC but lots of fans. Had we been there the week before when temps were in the 100’s that would definitely have been an issue. Also we did have some extended family visit later in the week and 2 ended up with swimmers itch. I am very allergic to mold and was unable to set on the beach side deck due to allergy issues however we were unable to locate the source. Overall we enjoyed the facility and location.

Returning to the lake for the first time since the 1960s

I haven't been to Higgins Lake in decades. I always loved the time I spent there as a child. We found this location, which had great views. Even though it was winter, we enjoyed our stay. The cottage was comfortable with excellent amenities. Highly recommended.

Family Trip

Location-location-location! Great family cottage on Higgins Lake. Very private, yet close to everything you need. Nice to have 2.5 baths! Sunsets were beautiful and the property is in a very relaxing setting with quiet neighbors and amazing views! We saw ospreys, bald eagles, pileated woodpeckers and a plethora of other wildlife. Joan was very responsive and always got back to us in a timely manner. We were already discussing booking for the following year, but sadly it is already all booked out for summer 2025.

Always wonderful!

We love Higgins Lake, and we love staying here. Just a few steps down to the beach, and you can walk WAAAAY out into the water before it’s over your head. The cottage is cozy, and provides all that we need to have a great time with family. The fans in each room are nice for those who like to sleep in and filter out the noise… and the kids always comment on how comfortable the couches are. The big dining table overlooks the lake as you eat your meals. And you can sit out on the deck and enjoy the sunsets. The owner is always accessible and quick to respond to any questions.

Beautiful beach front getaway!

Had a wonderful family time at this beautiful home on Higgins lake. Family used to have a cottage on Higgins lake. We've rented for a few years now. This so far is our favorite and hope to rent again next year, but hopefully longer!! Loved it!

Memorial Day Weekend Vacation

Beautiful private, sandy beach directly on Higgins Lake. With it being a holiday weekend, I was concerned it might be rowdy or loud, but this section of the lake and neighborhood was calm, quiet, and peaceful. Joan is a great host - kind, responsive, and even had a maintenance person come right away when we mentioned difficulty with the fireplace. Since the fireplace was an extra, this was not necessary, but very much appreciated so that we could enjoy it during our stay!
