“Room was spacious and clean Staff were good/friendly;bar was good! Brkft was good with lots of variety/buffet Location was amazing, fronting onto Lake Windermere!! Stayed here on our Honeymoon, 50 years ago as well!! Parking was good Bed was good ———- Manager was not warm and welcoming! Pub food was ok but it was not a high standard.”

“The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...
