Bellissimo fienile nel cuore della New Forest

  • The Barn è un cottage con una camera da letto splendidamente restaurato nel nord della New Forest. Presenta una camera da letto a soppalco e un bagno privato a cui si accede da una splendida scala a chiocciola. Ci sono grandi finestre caratteristiche e splendide travi antiche, una cucina completamente attrezzata con tutto il necessario per cucinare una cena arrosto. Nelle fredde serate ci si può rilassare davanti a un fuoco a legna, mentre il patio privato è una vera trappola per il sole! I cani ben educati sono i benvenuti e apprezzeranno le passeggiate nella foresta dalla porta di casa.

    Immerso nell'antica cresta nord del New Forest National Park, The Barn offre un rifugio tranquillo per rilassarsi e godersi la bellezza unica della foresta.

    Situato all'interno del confine della foresta, all'interno delle aree della griglia del bestiame, i nostri visitatori abituali includono i famosi pony e bovini che rendono la foresta un ambiente naturale così straordinario. Mentre i cervi sono uno spettacolo raro, spesso accogliamo un piccolo branco nei paddock, per goderci un po 'di pascolo gratis!

    Il fienile è stato recentemente magnificamente restaurato per offrire una zona giorno a pianta aperta con una camera da letto soppalcata e un bagno, a cui si accede da una splendida scala a chiocciola. Il fienile ha riscaldamento a pavimento in tutto e un'accogliente stufa a legna per serate fredde.

    La cucina è ben attrezzata con lavandino, lavastoviglie, frigorifero / congelatore, piano cottura elettrico e forno. Sono forniti compresse per lavastoviglie, detersivo per piatti, prodotti per la pulizia, strofinacci e strofinacci. All'arrivo vengono forniti latte, tè e zucchero.

    La zona giorno ha un divano a due posti, una tv e un lettore dvd. Alcuni libri e giochi sono disponibili per gli ospiti. C'è una stufa a legna per quelle serate fredde.

    La camera da letto ha un comodo letto matrimoniale con biancheria di qualità dell'hotel. La camera da letto conduce a un bagno privato di buone dimensioni con soffici asciugamani e molto spazio per i sacchetti di lavaggio.

    All'esterno c'è un patio privato con illuminazione esterna dove è possibile rilassarsi al sole. C'è un parcheggio privato a disposizione degli ospiti.

Beautiful small barn which we couldn’t fault. The only reason we marked it as 3/5 overall was the outdoor space - not a private garden but an open courtyard that adjoined a communal parking area -

My wife and I enjoyed our stay at the Barn very much. It is delightfully cosy and at the same time has everything you need. We felt very relaxed here. The place is so quiet and we even saw ponies coming up to the property boundary one afternoon just beyond the cattle grid! Astrid and Mark are friendly and generous. We couldn’t have had a better stay. My wife was particularly grateful for the well thought out arrangement for hanging clothes! As well as the perfect bathroom light for doing your makeup. We would be very happy to stay here again.

Great Location

The property was very clean and had everything we needed. The location is fantastic, with miles of walks starting on the heathland directly across the road. We had day trips to Lymington, Exbury Gardens and Stonehenge, as well as a walk across heathland and forest for a great Sunday lunch in the Horse and Groom at Woodgreen (6.5 miles there and back).

Lovely property

The Barn was a very comfortable and cosy place to stay for a long weekend. The property was extremely clean and very nicely furnished. It is within easy reach of many of the amenities offered by the New Forest. We dealt with the hosts only be email but the check-in and check-out processes were very efficient. Points to note: write down the wifi password before you arrive because the mobile phone signal in the area is pretty weak. Would also have been nice to have a parasol to go with the table and chairs outside.

Clean, cozy and comfortable.

We rented the property on the weekend that Storms Eunice and Franklin hit the UK. We had to delay our trip by a day due to power outages at the property but the owners were very good at keeping us up to date with the situation. We ended up with a lovely few days away and would recommend the property for couples looking for a cozy getaway.

Fantastic short break

Thoroughly enjoyed our 3 night stay in the Barn, which has been beautifully renovated. Perfect location for walking with the New Forest just over the road. Would highly recommend staying here, especially for dog owners, spot on for tiring out your foot legged friends.

New Forest holiday

The Old Barn was beautifully presented with good quality fixtures and fittings and very stylish. Great communication from Astrid & Mark all through the booking process and in the lead up to arriving. There is a small garden area at the front of the property which was great for al fresco breakfast and evening barbeques, we were lucky to be staying in the middle of a heatwave so took good advantage of this! We hadn't been to the New Forest before and had a great time exploring the area on foot and by bicycle. We didn't have far to go to see free roaming ponies, cows and deer - just the other side of the road to the barn which we did on a number of evenings for an evening stroll and to see the wildlife. There are plenty of good places nearby to eat out or for a drink within 3-4 miles and lovely sandy beaches with 40 ish minutes drive. Highly recommended and we look forward to returning in the future

Gorgeous Barn in an idyllic setting! Very cosy and tastefully furnishes.

We had a fantastic first trip to the New Forest, staying in beautiful accommodation. Astrid and Mark were very welcoming and made us feel at home straight away. We have fallen in love with the New Forest and it’s ponies and will definitely be back for another visit.

Great hosts and The Barn was fabulous

We had to find somewhere to stay at short notice in the New Forest and couldn’t believe that The Barn at High Forest Cottages was free, as it usually isn’t. We were attracted by the location and reviews and weren’t let down. The property was even better than the pictures suggested and was perfect for the two of us and our small dog (well behaved ones allowed) for our 3 night stay. It is an open plan small barn conversion with the bedroom and bathroom up a spiral staircase on a mezzanine floor. The ground floor is split between the kitchen and living area complete with widescreen TV (not that you’ll need it with the views outside) and wood burning stove in the corner, which was very welcome, although the whole place is kept lovely and warm already with the underfloor heating. The whole finish was first class and every feature and the furnishings have clearly had a lot of careful thought. There was a helpful guide to the local area including shops and pubs which we took advantage of. Although in the New Forest proper, it is still convenient and not very far from surrounding villages although you will need a car to get there, unless you are the sturdiest of walkers. We’d definitely recommend it and were made to feel very welcome by Astrid and Mark. Thank you!

Relaxing stay in a lovely barn conversion

The property is well located on the edge of the New Forest, with easy access to good pubs, walking and cycling. The barn itself is very comfortable and well equipped, and makes excellent use of the space. We felt very at home there. Astrid, Mark and family live on site and are always on hand if there are any questions.

Lovely Weekend Stay

Had a fantastic stay in this beautifully converted Barn in the heart of the New Forest.Contemporary styling but cosy too makes this an ideal place to get away from it all. There was thick snow on the ground when we came for our weekend so we didn't get to explore the area but we hope to return in the better weather to do that. Mark and Astrid are wonderful hosts, we felt very welcomed.

What a lovely barn! We had a lovely week and really enjoyed our stay. The barn was immaculate and decorated to a very high standard. Only thing I could criticise would be the lack of wifi, or mobile phone reception but I suppose that's the price you have to pay for staying in a remote location. A landline would have helped as communication with family was needed. But on the whole a lovely experience. Thanks.

A modern and stylish barn conversion.

The barn was very well equipped with a comfortable bed. The patio area got plenty of afternoon sunshine and had two good quality loungers. The property was close to the road which could be a bit noisy during rush hour but most of the time it was quiet. Astrid was very welcoming.

Beautiful barn conversion and excellent hosts!

We have just had a lovely long weekend away staying in the barn. The conversion is beautiful and has been completed to a very high standard and everything has been supplied to make your stay comfortable. We were allowed to stay with our 6 month old baby and the owners couldn't have been more helpful. The mezzanine bedroom is small and not big enough for a conventional travel cot, however we have a next to me crib which fitted fine - it was cosy but plenty big enough for a short stay. They also supplied a high chair, play mat, bouncy chair and baby bath to save us having to take these too - anyone with children will know how much stuff you have to take away so this was really helpful. We took a portable BBQ to have on the terrace which was lovely as it was boiling when we stayed - the owners actually supplied us with a fan to help with the heat too! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and this is a perfect base base to go exploring around the New Forest.

Beautifully furnished barn apartment

This split level apartment in a newly furnished barn was a delight to stay in. Very accessible to all parts of the New Forest, with walks on the doorstep and ponies sometimes to be seen on the other side of the hedge. Anita and Mark were warm and welcoming, providing a bottle of wine on arrival, a map we'd forgotten to bring and recommendations of places to eat and drink. Recommended.
