Case rurali a San Andreas

“The place is a bit more dated than what appears online, and the beds are pretty hard- even the pull-out couch. However, if you’re just looking for a place to crash, it’s fine. Pool & hot tub was nice but the sauna had a foul smell in the room and we had to leave the whole room- maybe because somebody left the sauna on!? Overall I would give it three stars; not overly impressive, but also not bad. Nice parking though and great to have a market just next door.”

“Timberline Lodge in Arnold is a nice hotel conveniently located along CA-4. It was very close to Calaveras Big Trees State Park. There are a good number of restaurants catering to different cuisines. Our favorites were Bistro Espresso and Sarafina’s Italian Restaurant. The lodge itself looks newly renovated and well maintained. The amenities met our needs. The only problem we had was with the air conditioning. It was a hot weekend in August with temperature in the 90’s and the a/c wasn’t cooling...

“Overall, the bed was comfortable and the sheets were very clean. However, there was a strong smell of smoke in the room, and even ventilating the space didn't help. Even worse, some unknown device in the room kept vibrating and sounding an alarm; it emitted a piercing noise every few minutes throughout the entire night. We tried all night to figure out what was causing the sound but couldn't locate the source, which meant we didn't get any sleep. We had high expectations for this historic hotel...
