“Lovely brand new hotel on a hillside overlooking the main center of Santa Elena. Beautiful clean rooms with clean water and bathrooms, new construction, 5 minute walk to town. The hosts are lovely and welcoming, providing advice to guests on all sorts of things. Communal breakfast in the morning is great too! Most of all, this property is run by a non-profit that supports children's education, so it's great to contribute to the cause by staying here.”
“The owner was so friendly, and we booked him last minute because our other reservation fell through, and he was ready for us within 10 minutes. “This is a wonderful, quiet getaway in the cloud forest! We booked a room last minute after our original accommodations didn’t work out and the owners were so accommodating, letting us check in early and taking care of everything (including dinnner!) Our family of 5 had a great time splashing in the pool, watching the rain, and playing with the friendly dog who visited our cabin often. “We spent two nights in Ficus. Notable- The young lady working the front desk with long, dark hair and the wait staff in the restaurant at night. Both were super friendly and went out of their way to be fun and welcoming! Room- very clean and all the things worked well! Breakfast buffet- Excellent! Other food was good...except the pizza. A bit undercooked. Stick with local cuisine. The area is very hilly- expect to walk up hills. Shopping is a bit a way from everything. Tours- a very limited...

Rooms are large, beds are comfortable and clean, parking is right in front and it’s a 3 minute walk to most restaurants and stores.
Staff were very friendly and easy going.
Very minor thing but you can sometimes hear road noise - but all solved with some ear plugs! ”
