Great and Peaceful Place
This was our 3rd time at this peaceful farmhouse with dogs - very relaxing and I'm sure we'll be back. WiFi is via satellite so a wee bit slow but you won't want to work there anyway.

Beautiful location
Stayed here with my husband and our two dogs. The property was beautiful. House was comfortable. Kitchen was updated and spacious. Saw deer roaming around the house everyday. The dogs enjoyed going for walks around the house and going to the creek that was close by. Would recommend if your looking for a private place to relax.

A little piece of heaven
I hesitate to write this review because I don’t want everyone knowing about this place so it is available when we want to go back. Ha! We stayed here when we moved our daughter in to Cal Poly. It is so peaceful and quiet. What a refuge!! The beds were super comfortable and the outdoor area was great. We enjoyed the passing cows and did t want to leave. We hope to return soon! Thank you!

Such a special place!
Loved our time in the little red house. Perfect for three of us - couple and adult daughter - plus our dogs. Very close to SLO yet out in the wilderness. Deer, turkeys, coyotes (heard not seen), and an abundance of squirrels! Hope to return here.

Absolutely loved this property! Nestled in the hills behind Cal Poly, the scenery was beautiful and were able to see a lot of wildlife. Very, very quiet and relaxing. We will be back again!

Lovely location. Just needs cleaning. Doors. Baseboards. Dirty. Put ant traps. Windows need to be cleaned. Beautiful location. Peaceful. Vacuum needs to be emptied. New bag please. I left it cleaner than it was. Needs to say no air conditioner. Was over 90 inside when we arrived.

A beautiful and unique place to stay
This is one of the most memorable and wonderful places we have ever stayed. I was with my husband and two teenage sons, and everyone loved it. The farmhouse is beautiful and very comfortable - historic but with all the modern amenities and comforts. The location is spectacular, with total privacy and beautiful views of the hills around. We loved watching the deer, turkeys, birds, and squirrels and sat outside for hours enjoying the scenery. I would recommend it to anyone, and we are planning to come back for sure.

Let’s meet in the middle!
I found this property on the internet. We all looked over the description of the farm and scheduled a mini vacation. The pictures are exactly what this farm is all about. We enjoyed it very much. My husband and I came from Southern California and our son and daughter-in-law are from Northern California. It was half way for us all.

Amazingly quiet and perfectly peaceful
We’ll definitely be returning to the Farmhouse! The peace and quiet we experienced (even with a nighttime thunderstorm!) was incredible. The house is only a couple of miles from downtown San Luis Obispo, but it feels a world away. We saw deer, hawks, wild turkeys, indigo buntings, bluebirds. The house is cozy, but feels spacious for two adults. Amazing place.

What A Location!!
This was our 2nd stay here and while it's 2 miles to SLO you'd never know it as the valley feels remote and it's just lovely. If you want peace and quiet plus a place for your dog - it's excellent. There is a flock of wild turkeys close by and we also saw 2 deer nearby. I'm sure we'll be back.

Beauty and solitude!
The farmhouse was delightful, charming and full of necessities for a comfortable stay. It is beautifully tucked into a valley that isolates you from the business of the city...and yet you are about 10 minutes from SLO. So peaceful and restful! Chuck was a great host and quite helpful! Highly recommend for a restful retreat. There are also great hiking trails from the front door.

Remote and yet so close
Once you master the dirt road (don't bring a low rider car or sports car!) you are really transported into a different world. Huge property, nobody anywhere to be seen, lots of wildlife including a resident flock of wild turkeys and just sheer natural beauty. The house / cabin is well appointed and while clearly pretty old, it is very comfortable and charming. No excess clutter and simply beautiful inside. Please note there is no central heat, but some space heaters do the trick. Comfortable beds, clean, and a overall SUPER cozy space. We loved having our coffee on the porch in the mornings, but note it can get very windy, especially when the fog comes in. However, you can always find a wind protected spot. Highly recommended and definitely a true find.

What a wonderful property to stay at! The house was very thoughtfully stocked, the setting amazing, and beds and linens comfortable. Fantastic Property, wonderful host.
We had planned on doing full day trips around the coast and into the Paso Robles area, but the property was so amazing we ended up hiking and relaxing on site for most of the time. Host was wonderful and cabin is just as nice as pictured. Our dog Bruno loved it too. Would definitely stay again!

Second time around as magnificent as the first!
This was our second time to stay at the property as we loved the first so much. The deep quiet of being in the middle of 400 acres yet close enough to enjoy a night out in San Luis Obispo or a day at the off leash dog beach with our two dogs. We are looking forward to returning next year as we love the beauty of the place and the many trails and paths just outside the front door. We highly recommend this to anyone seeking a remarkable and quaint beautiful quiet but only 15 minutes to town and beaches! Thank you to our hosts for being so great and accommodating.

Breathtaking scenery
We were a little nervous as we drove down the long driveway in the dark. However, we were rewarded the next morning with the most amazing views all around. Rolling hills as far as we could see. For such a seemingly remote location, we were pleased to find we had good WIFI and a bathroom with strong water pressure and nice hot water! We enjoyed sitting on the porch in the AM and just watching the wildlife parade by.

Million Dollar View
We surprised my 80 something parents with a 2 night stay on our way from Palm Desert to Carmel by the Sea. We all were so impressed with the location and it’s amazing views. Completely private and isolated yet just 10 minutes from town. Certainly an amazing experience to be surrounded with nature and complete silence. The house amenities were perfect and thoughtful, anything you can think of was supplied. Clean perfectly updated A+.

This property is AMAZING! we came up for the weekend with the kids and dogs and this place was the perfect spot to come home too. It is spacious and secluded. The beautiful golden hills filled with so much wildlife. Perfect location to visit all the beautiful beaches in the area. We will definitely be back! :)

The best vacation spot!
This is absolutely the best vacation spot my family has found. If you are at all tired, stressed, or just needing to get away from it all, you will completely relax here. We stayed here with our daughter and our dog while visiting our son at Cal Poly. We really didn't even want to leave the property. It is incredibly cute, clean, and well stocked. The view and surrounding property are beautiful, and we love seeing the wild turkeys and deer every day. We are able to walk our dog or go for a run on the country roads. I personally love waking up early here and enjoying my morning coffee on the front porch. The fire pit is really nice, and we really appreciated being able to grill out one night as well. This place really is away from it all, but you can also get to downtown slo and other areas very quickly. We went to Hearst Castle (gorgeous) and Moonstone Beach. We saw a group of whales by the Elephant Seal Beach, and loved watching the crabs in the tide pools on the rocks at Moonstone. We visited Epoch Wines and had an excellent experience. We also highly recommend taking your dog to the dog beach at Morro Bay and going to Prefumo Canyon to watch the sunset (suggestion by the college kids). It's stunning. There are too many good restaurants in SLO to even count. My daughter loved that we were out in the country but still could get into town to shop, etc. and still had excellent wifi. You will love this place!

Wonderful place to stay
This was a beautiful place to stay while we were in SLO with our son who is a student at Cal Poly. This location is off the beaten path but so close to the campus and downtown (less than a 10 min drive). It is down a dirt road and provides a cute 2 bedroom guesthouse with no neighbors in sight! We saw turkeys and deer daily. Can't wait to return to this home in the future when we travel to the area to visit our son!

Peaceful getaway minutes from downtown
This was the perfect spot to stay for our family. We were in town to do a tour of Cal Poly. This location is very special. It looks like a movie set. We had our dog with us, so we went on a few walks and ran into a family of dear almost every time. You can feel the history of the home. It is very comfortable and spacious. The pack patio was perfect for BBQing and enjoying a glass of wine. The host, Chuck, was great at communicating. Our tour of the college ran a bit over, and he was nice enough to extend our checkout time a bit. We hope to be back!!

Great Location
If you want a peaceful and quiet vacation in a lovely setting this is it. Our dogs had a blast and it's only 2+ miles to SLO. One suggestion, the road to the property is partially unpaved, so suggest if you are going to cook your meals at the house as we did, pick up your supplies on your way to the property.

A place of beauty, serenity and solitude
I and my partner and two dogs came to this farm house and all were completely blown away. We have stayed at many beautiful places, none were as unique, private and completely awe inspiring as this place. Close to town, restaurants and beaches yet had a feel of complete isolation and privacy. We loved exploring the 400 acres and our dogs loved being able to explore such a magical place with us. There is even a beach in Morro Bay close by that is off leash where the dogs thoroughly played, frolicked and enjoyed. We were sorry to leave and look forward to coming back. It was a truly extraordinary experience.

Quiet Getaway with Views of Rolling Hills
A classic old farmhouse, updated with modern amenities like cable TV, WiFi and a full kitchen; but still having plenty of old-time charm, like the covered porch, varied artwork and interesting floor levels. The views outside are wide-ranging and bucolic, with many hills, grass fields, cattle, turkeys, a bobcat, etc. Besides the modern stone patio with propane burning fire pit, there are marvelous views of rolling hills near and distant, and no other buildings in sight. For the seeker of privacy and quiet, this place is an ideal vacation home. We enjoyed the home; the extensive rolling fields and trails; and short country drives to San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach, and the vineyards of San Robles. It was a little chilly in the house (in January) so make sure to bring warm clothing such as long johns and sweaters.

Absolute paradise
This place is truly incredible. At the cute little home you feel completely, perfectly secluded. Dogs can roam free without worry, great walking and also just relaxing. To top it all off, you’re a quick ride into downtown for great food and shopping and only 30 from Avila Beach which is beautiful. 10/10 - highly recommend. We already booked a trip back!!

Beatiful Location
This was an amazing location. It is in the middle of an rural canyon with amazing views. It was incredibly quiet. At night you could hear owls hooting and coyotes. There are a lot of nearby hiking trails. All this and you are only 2 miles outside of San Luis Obispo. The house was great. It had a well stocked kitchen and a couple grills on an outside patio. We spent every night sitting on the porch enjoying the views and nature sounds.

Great place and excellent hosts
Great place, nicely redone with good appliances. There was an issue upon my arrival and the hosts came immediately and made it right. Saw a bobcat, which was wonderful, and I would be careful about letting smaller dogs off leash. I enjoyed my stay.

Peaceful get away in SLO
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving vacation and enjoyed the spacious, clean property. The grounds are beautiful and it was an easy drive to SLO. It’s so quiet and peaceful by the fire pit. The beds are comfy and the kitchen is well appointed. There was a lack of communication regarding check in that was stressful, but the host was very responsive to a later need to fill propane tanks. Overall, 5*s.

Family Get-away
We live in a super urban area, so it was a literal breath of fresh air to stay at the cabin. It was my husband, one-year old baby, and dog. Everything was lovely. We took advantage of the fire pit and the grill. The kitchen was fully stocked and the bedrooms very comfortable. There are three steps leading down to the bathroom, so anyone with mobility issues might have trouble. We didn’t think to bring a gate for the baby, but the stools from the kitchen worked just fine. Our dog was so happy to run free. We checked him thoroughly for ticks every time he came back in. Would 10 out of 10 stay again.

It's Another World
This is a beautiful, unique farmhouse with incredible views and privacy. Yet, it's only a 10-minutes drive from downtown San Luis Obispo. We enjoyed the scenery with wild animals (giant turkeys) and the archaeological site. The house is perfectly clean and well equipped. The owner, Chuck, was quick and efficient with our questions. We had a relaxing stay and already miss being there. We'd love to come back someday.

Peaceful and Private
We had the best time at the little red farmhouse! It is a magical, peaceful location with lots of privacy, as you are up a dirt road about 2 miles off the main highway. It was perfect for our family of four. Coffee in the morning and wine in the evening with beautiful views. The kids had fun exploring and looking for deer, turkeys and squirrels. The house is situated perfectly near downtown SLO, wineries, Morro Bay and Pismo. We will definitely be back!

Great Getaway!
The farmhouse was a perfect getaway with our dogs. The place has everything we wanted/needed (except a washer/dryer) and is in the perfect location. Feels like you're a million miles away from civilization but only 10 minutes into town. We will definitely be back!
