I’m honestly torn on how to rate this stay.
On the positive side, the room itself was quite nice and above average in terms of comfort and finish. The staff were excellent, friendly and professional throughout. Breakfast was also very good.
However, there was one major issue that significantly impacted the experience. The hotel is directly beside a massive construction site for what appears to be a large new hotel development. I paid extra for a “panorama” room, but the balcony and view I received did not match the promotional photos at all. Instead of a premium panoramic experience, I was looking at and listening to heavy construction.
The noise was not minor background disturbance. It was extremely loud, and at times the room was physically shaking from vibration. Even the door chain would rattle from the movement. It made the room borderline unlivable during active construction hours.
What I found particularly frustrating was receiving an email just a couple of hours before check-in advising of construction noise, while clearly stating there was no possibility of a refund. That information should have been disclosed upfront before booking or at least before the cancellation window closed, so guests can make an informed decision.
Under normal circumstances, this would likely be a very solid stay. But given the mismatch between the premium room expectation and the actual experience, combined with the severity of the construction impact, it significantly reduced the exp.
