Zen Cottage Hideaway With Amazing Views

Very beautiful, peaceful and unique home at the end of a private drive.
Come get away from it all, while still enjoying the convenient location less than a mile from the beach and downtown Santa Barbara. There is easy access to bus and trolly to make your vacation more relaxing.
This tranquil cottage features absolutely spectacular views of the mountains and city. Plus there's an additional outdoor area of this very private sanctuary with glorious views where you can enjoy morning coffee and later revel in the incredible pink sunsets on the mountains. Rinse off in the handy out door shower after exploring the beach.
This thoughtful appointed , small home has recently been remodeled and is clean and tidy. Spacious and comfortable, it has two bedrooms, one with a king bed and one with a queen. The bathroom is gorgeous, with a luxurious bathtub with views to outdoor fountain meditation area - where you can watch the birds bathe as well. Enjoy cooking in the full kitchen and relaxing in the welcoming dining area, or BBQ-ing outside and dining al fresco. The home also includes a full laundry, as well as a large TV, and includes cable and internet...

NOTE: We have very high cleaning standards, so house is kept immaculately clean. We use government approved disinfectants and cleaning products and make sure our home is safe for you and your friends and family.
Also this is my personal home so please be respectful... thank you...

Amazing!

We stayed for a few days, and were sad to leave! Everything was perfect, better than what we were expecting. Charlie was extremely kind, and available to us. Could not ask for a better host. Looking forward to coming back!

Zen Hideaway

We stayed at this lovely, peaceful cottage for a long weekend while in town for my cousin’s wedding. It was the perfect place for my family - great location close to everything, very comfortable and clean with plenty of space, and Charlie was very helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed relaxing on the patio/deck and the beautiful gardens. I would recommend staying here. Thanks Charlie!

Great house in excellent location

The house was very well appointed with everything we needed and had plenty of space for myself, husband, and 5-month old son. There was a pack n play and some baby books for us to use too. The host Charlie was very nice and accommodating. Would stay here again!

Collage graduation

We stayed at Zen Cottage while in Santa Barbara for our son’s graduation. Location is convenient very close to downtown and not too far from UCSB. Cottage is small but even with 4 people we did not feel crowded. We BBQed one night, enjoying the outside eating area. I would book this rental again should we come back.

Santa Barbara Trip

This property was great for our family getaway to Santa Barbara over Memorial Day weekend. The home was exactly as shown in the listing. Perks: Great location, easy drive to the beach and to downtown, and secluded with private deck. The bedrooms, kitchen and bathroom were all clean and well maintained. Charles was a great host and reached out weeks in advance to walk me through the property and answer any questions we had. Our family will definitely look into staying here again for future trips to Santa Barbara!

Slice of heaven

Wow, just so much gratitude for Charlie and providing such a peaceful, impeccably clean and beautiful rental. A few highlights: great lay out, gorgeous mountain views, very well thought out remodel with lovely Italian appliances. RO water, great air filtration, a good place for people with environmental allergies, sweet nature views, good lighting, comfy beds. Can’t wait to go back!

Exceeded our expectations!

What a trip! Our Vrbo and the city of Santa Barbara exceeded our expectations! Charlie was great at making recommendations and made us feel welcomed. Very comfortable beds and over all living quarters. We will definitely be staying there again! We loved the instructions that were left for us and recommendations of what to see and places to eat. The Boathouse was our favorite! Thank you for a wonderful experience in Santa Barbara, Charlie!

Quiet, Relaxing Retreat

Clean, private comfortable property close to all that SB has to offer. Charlie was a responsive and knowledgeable host that we enjoyed getting to know. One minor caveat, for those with mobility or balance issues, navigating the use of the shower/tub could be difficult with a big step up, confined area and no handrails. Would definitely stay here again.

Perfect stay

We had a fantastic stay over thanksgiving week. The cottage is charming, clean, and well appointed- even better than the photos show. The garden is beautiful beautiful and the neighborhood is perfect for bike rides and walks with the family. Also close to beaches and downtown. We will definitely be back!

Great location, courtyard was our favorite part of the house

We had a great stay and the place was clean, the courtyard was really sweet - fairy lights would be a lovely addition on the deck as we just loved sitting out there :) The beds were very comfortable. Communication with the owner was really smooth, the location was easy as a former local but really hard for Uber drivers to find (we had Uber cancel on pick ups when they couldn't find us) so you need to be clear with Uber to go to the end of the street and up the private driveway at the end and then you will be fine as they kept going to the main road on the other side due to where the pin dropped. It would be great to have some half-and-half or little snacks or tea on arrival. You can't check in till 4pm and often, we have a few small things on arrival at the air VRBO's we rent that mean we can put our bags down after a long trip, have a cuppa and chill for a moment before having to get to a grocery store. Only a small thing but something that it a nice touch - so just be sure to have some groceries on you before you arrive if you don't want to have to leave immediately and find a store. Other than that, nice, easy stay. Thank you

Beautiful and peaceful getaway home

Charlie is a wonderfully hospitable and communicative host. Everything from booking to leaving was easy and smooth. The home is immaculate and has everything you need, including a full kitchen. Great location, although you will probably need to either drive or get a ride if you're going near the pier, because it's a bit of a walk otherwise. We would definitely come back.

Fabulous Stay Ultra clean...

Two adult couples in for fun and frivolity In beautiful Santa Barbara. Either walk or uber anywhere for 8 bucks... Very comfortable, laid back, absolute fabulous host who knew of all the cool nooks and crannies in town for great dinners, drinks, even ice cream.. Made us feel so welcome, our new yearly place to go. Highly recommended.

Would definitely stay again

Location was great (short drive to State St., downtown, restaurants, etc.), property was very clean, check-in process was very easy and Charlie was very attentive before and during our stay. Would definitely stay here again. The only (very minor) issue was when ordering Ubers to the house. This issue was with the Uber/Lyft mapping software, which tells the driver to pick up / drop off on the main street as opposed to the residential street that the house is located (super simple fix and definitely shouldn't influence decision to stay here - just want to make people aware)

This immaculate cottage is just as described with high end finishes and beautiful views. The location is perfect to access anywhere you want to go in Santa Barbara. My family of three went to the beach every day and LOVED the outdoor shower! Charlie is the perfect host.

Wonderful Weekend

My family was in town for a wedding and had a great stay at Charles' place! Everything from the beach to the restaurants are a quick 10 min drive away. It was easy to get around and a lovely place to rest up between wedding events. Would definitely recommend a stay!
