“We chose this hotel because it was an hour from Santander and just off our main route from Portugal to the ferry port for the UK.
Lovely town with impressive old centre and lovely riverside walks. Lively market the day we arrived (Tuesday).
Be aware that self-parking is actually free on-street parking but area seems very secure so we left most of our extensive contents in car and had no problem.
Also,hotel restaurant non-functioning so sought dinner in town and nowhere open until 9pm. But...

“There were six of us on motorcycles and we were accommodated in three very comfortable bedrooms with en-suite facilities. The hotel had a bar and adjoining was another building which was an excellent restaurant. Our bikes were parked in a garage below the guest house. The guest house is set amidst beautiful scenery with available walks.”

“Very good food and drink at very reasonable price. Used mostly by locals and very busy at times and good atmosphere, if you don’t speak Spanish have translate on phone. There is nothing really within walking distance as it’s in an industrial area but a large car repair and tyres within 1/4 mile.”
