The house is fabulous and in a stunning location. The experience in it was poor due to Zindis' lax management!
There were 10 of us in our group. Our house manager told us we would have DAILY cleaning.
1. The 1st afternoon, we told the house manager that we were VERY low on laundry detergent. She said she would have the housekeeper take some the next day.
2. So, we left the door into the house from the garage unlocked, BUT she didn't show, so:
• Garbage was accumulated,
• The kitchen and bathrooms weren't clean or beds made,
• there was no laundry detergent,
• shampoo and conditioner were never replenished , and
• the ice maker was NOT making ice—who ever heard of a tropical vacation without ice?!?!
3. With 10 people on a very active vacation, we needed all that regularly.
Even though the housekeeper did not return, the manager took some detergent the 3rd day so we could at least wash pool towels. She called an appliance repair man who fixed the ice maker to some extent.
We expected that, having not come the second day, the maid would surely come the 3rd. After a long, active outing, though, we returned to a 2nd day of no cleaning service.
When we contacted Zindis’ house manager, she called the housekeeper, then told us she had the week of Santa Semana off. She offered NO further explanation, apology, or suggestion that other cleaning would be arranged, despite telling us we would have daily cleaning.
Finally, the last 2 days (even Easter), the housekeeper arrived and attempted to clean.
The shocks are that:
• if the housekeeper or the owners had told Zindis she was planning on taking the week off, Zindis did NOTHING for alternative cleaning yet told us it would be daily,
• when we told them she did not arrive the 2nd day, there was NO apparent effort to have the house cleaned the next day.
• In fact, when she continued not to arrive, the “manager” finally told us that “the maid is a gift from the owners, usually has a cost of $35 per cleaning but since is Easter week, unfortunately they give her the weekend off.” We had arrived on Tuesday, so the next days were clearly NOT “the weekend” yet we received NO cleaning on them! NOR was there ANY mention from Zindis that there would be no cleaning services either of those 2 days
• The only door that worked to the pool is off the track & difficult!
Between that & the ice maker, it is CLEAR that Zindis is NOT examining the house for ongoing maintenance and repairs. nor giving owners their $ worth.
