Questo affascinante bungalow è un cottage di pescatori di 100 anni situato tra il quartiere storico e Tybee Island. Thunderbolt, GA è una frazione indipendente a Savannah, nota per le sue piccole case costiere, la vicinanza alla via navigabile intercoastal (a pochi passi dalla casa), il molo di gamberi freschi e la sua facile pace e tranquillità.

Questa casa di 1100 piedi quadrati parzialmente rinnovata offre 2 camere da letto e 1 bagno ed è la casa ideale lontano da casa. Vanta un portico avvolgente con un'altalena del portico e posti a sedere aggiuntivi, steccato bianco, terreno boschivo, quercia di 250 anni di età e alberi imbiancati imbiancati a calce: è il semplice personaggio del sud. In effetti, è servito come location principale per il film The Gift (2000) con Cate Blanchett.

È dotato di lucchetti senza chiave per mantenere le cose semplici, porte a schermo su entrambi gli ingressi in modo da poter prendere una brezza fresca, così come internet ad alta velocità, una Smart TV da 32 "e molti libri e riviste per farti sentire a tuo agio con . Il parcheggio è ampio - abbastanza per circa 4 auto, se dovessi avere visitatori.

CUCINA E PRANZO
 
La cucina ha tutto ciò che serve per farti stare comodo durante un soggiorno più lungo. Se ti piace cucinare, ti abbiamo coperto con piatti veri e propri, pentole e padelle, posate, coltelli, taglieri, spezie di base e persino un paio di libri di cucina. Ha la maggior parte dei gadget di cui potresti aver bisogno, tra cui un forno a microonde, un bollitore per il tè, una macchinetta del caffè (e una stampa francese!), fabbricatore di ghiaccio e lavastoviglie.

La lavatrice e l'asciugatrice sono anche nascoste in cucina e troverai un detersivo per il bucato nell'armadio della dispensa. Ti daremo il benvenuto con snack e acqua e ti lasceremo provviste di caffè e asciugamani di carta.

La sala da pranzo adiacente ha un tavolo per 4 persone che ha ospitato molti una buona serata. È perfetto per cena, bevande o quel puzzle da 1000 pezzi che stavi pensando di portare.

CAMERA DA LETTO E BAGNO
 
Questa casa comprende due camere da letto, ognuna con un letto matrimoniale ben arredato e confortevole per due. Il divano del soggiorno si trasforma in un letto (con le proprie lenzuola), offrendo una zona notte aggiuntiva. Il bagno completo è fornito con fantasiosi articoli da toeletta gratuiti, soffici asciugamani e una scorta di carta igienica.

AREE ESTERNE
 
Se hai avuto il pieno del portico, controlla il cortile - è ombreggiato da quella quercia di 250 anni che abbiamo menzionato, che è il fulcro del nostro habitat ufficiale certificato National Wildlife Federation. Alcune delle nostre meraviglie naturali preferite sono i gufi esclusi residenti, Johnny e June, che fanno la loro comparsa (e alcuni gufi) ogni primavera e rimangono fino all'autunno! C'è una bella firepit in marmo sul retro che è stata fatta a mano da cari amici, e c'è una pila di legna che puoi usare (ricorda di fare attenzione ai ragni quando prendi un po 'di legno, e per favore non lasciare il fuoco del cortile incustodito.)

Annidata in una posizione ideale, questa struttura si trova a soli 15 minuti di auto dal quartiere storico di Savannah, dove è possibile visitare il centro storico, i musei d'arte di livello mondiale e cenare in una varietà di ristoranti di alto livello.

Percorri 15 minuti nella direzione opposta e goditi una giornata in spiaggia sull'isola di Tybee.

Altre attrazioni vicine a meno di 10 minuti di auto dalla struttura includono Thunderbolt Marina; Bonaventure Cemetery, il più antico cimitero di Savannah; e lo storico Grayson Stadium, sede della squadra di baseball della lega minore Savannah Bananas.

This was a great little house. The inside was great and the landscaping was amazing. The first night the AC went out and the host was very easy to communicate with and she had the issue resolved by the next day. We would definitely stay here again.

Such a charming place! It was perfect for our girls trip right between Savannah & Tybee Island. The covered wrap around deck with porch swing was so inviting, I miss it already. We enjoyed quiet mornings sipping our coffee or tea out there, listening to the birds & the delightful smell of the honeysuckle covered white picket fence. The huge spanish moss draped oak in the backyard is magical. Such a beauty. The home was very neat & clean & had the basics for our stay.The neighborhood is quiet & several very good restaurants are within walking distances. Can also walk to & along the nearby river for fantastic views.

Loved every part of the house except it needs railings for the stairs outside. I know it’s an older home but the steps were difficult for my elderly mother. It’s a gorgeous little house. Beds were comfortable but for the listing it should say 2 bedrooms. The futon couch is in the living room technically.

Great location half way between Tybee Island and downtown. Host was easy to get a hold of. We did not receive our check-in instructions. I emailed her and she responded right away. Could have turned disastrous, but was great.

We had little contact with the host. We had not received our door code to get in the house and waited 30 minutes outside for a response from our texts and voice calls leaving a message. When we got in and unpacked we wanted to watch TV until the other guests arrived but the remote was not working. I texted the host to see if there were any batteries in the house and she responded that she would check but we never heard back from her. We did purchase batteries to replace the ones there. We had a ceiling leak the second night in the kitchen, the trash disposal in the sink was not working so there was some backup into the sink when we used used the dishwasher or hand washed dishes. There were 2 cooking pans (a large skillet a medium sized saucepan). We had to be creative in their use to cook for 4 adults. Most of the dishes and utensils had to be washed before use as they just weren't clean. The biggest concern was the side gate entrance--there is a log walkway there that is a tripping hazard and unfortunately it was pouring when we left the last day and we had to walk through at least 4 inches of water to get out of the gate.The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was great, the wood floors beautiful, and the property was really nice. Given that we arrived on the 26th, it would have been nice if there was some type of holiday decoration (a simple wreath or some greenery inside) to help us with our celebrations.

Great little place in a great location. Easy to get to the ocean and downtown Savannah. Neighborhood was upcoming and nice to stay in with good restaurants like Ericka Davis Low Country. Beautiful huge Live Oak makes it that muck more!

I had to contact the property manager to get access to the home once we got there. The email with instructions wasnt sent to us 24 hr in advanced. Not enough bathroom supplies we had to go buy our own. The location was in a good spot located close to businesses, but enough out of town to be quiet. The yard was beautiful and you could sit on the porch and enough the scenery. Price was very resonable. Overall I would highly recommend this place.

Loved Savannah. the house was clean and as pictured/described! A little further outside of Savannah proper than we thought, but we made work. Area is being renovated with multiple house under construction and a few more in desperate need. Very quiet neighborhood!

The house was clean and very cute. Great location- close to everything. Only thing we disliked about our stay was the window coverings/curtains. The bathroom didn’t have any and we felt “exposed” to all the neighbors. Same for the living and dining room. There were blinds but at night time you could see right through them and see everything and anyone in the house.

I booked this property for my concert production workers from Atlanta coming to Savannah for the three weeks of shows. Not only is "The Sugar Shack" an absolute beaut of a home in what's now being called the lowcountry's "hippest little town", (Thunderbolt, GA) the property, landscaping, and neighborhood nature can't be beat; literally a three block walk from the intracoastal waterway. The home is fully supplied with everything one might need/want for a short, or longer stay. The two full bedrooms and pullout futon couch were more than enough for us, and the newly renovated bathroom is top notch, both in materials and ease of use. We really just can't say enough great things about this rental, and would DEFINITELY RECOMMEND to anyone looking for a real Savannah local's experience. With downtown being ten minutes away, and Tybee only fifteen in the other direction there really isn't a better spot to post up and see the entirety of the area. We had zero complaints or issues and will be back for sure. Thanks for the great stay!!!

This place was hands down my favorite place I have stayed! I look forward to coming back. The partial wrap around porch gave us a perfect rainy day experience when being anywhere else would have green miserable. I could go on and on about the porch swing the lounge chairs that overlook all of the beautiful trees and vegetation. Even our Uber driver complimented on it. On that note, I loved the location. 15 dollar(ish) ride into the heart of downtown and river walk. We opted to not drive and deal with parking because it was so inexpensive. Ate amazing food, walked around with drinks and didn't have to worry at all about getting home. Tybee Island was a short drive to as well and very easy to get to from the house. You are pretty much right in the middle of the two major areas. We did find great places right around the corner as well. The house itself had such a old cabin/bungalow feel to it without being worn out or out of date. It had a huge clean bathroom with a bed room on each side of the house. The large full kitchen looks into the beautiful private back yard where...well you just have to see it.... but the prettiest tree in Savannah stands. Books and magazines to keep you entertained on that porch for weeks to come! There is a smart TV for taking a break. But, I cannot emphasize enough how beautiful the property is and should be enjoyed. Getting a hold of property manager was very easy as well when we had a question on the keyless locks(user error). If you want to see Tybee Island, downtown Savannah, and have a nice southern slow down, this is the place.
