Inner Sanctuary at Sanctuary Place

Ciao. Abbiamo appena iniziato a prendere di nuovo le prenotazioni per il Loft interno dopo un anno di pausa - spero di sentirti presto. La proprietà di Sanctuary Place è il vincitore di un Savannah Historic Preservation Award 2008. L'Inner Sanctuary è un Loft su tre livelli con due camere da letto e un divano letto sulla piattaforma centrale - per sei persone. Due bagni e mezzo con cabina doccia e vasca in ghisa. Arredato con cura e ben fornito di comfort domestici. Attenta attenzione ai dettagli in tutto: l'esterno è stato riportato ai suoi inizi vittoriani e l'interno progettato per le esigenze moderne. Questa dimora è unica a Savannah e offre una vera "esperienza di fuga".

Buon viaggio, Sanctuary Place

Costruito nel 1889 come chiesa episcopale di San Paolo dall'architetto Eric Eichberg, questa proprietà storica ha ospitato varie congregazioni nel secolo scorso prima di cadere in rovina intorno al 2002. Il restauro è iniziato nel 2005 e il MIddle Loft è stato completato con l'esterno nel 2008. I lati esterni, ricoperti di stucco, sono stati riparati con il raccordo di Cipro. Il pino vintage originale è stato recuperato dal tetto e dai lati per essere utilizzato per la costruzione interna. I contrafforti volanti e il campanile, entrambi mancanti per decenni, sono stati ricostruiti da fotografie storiche. Circa il 50% del vetro colorato è stato sostituito con il vetro di restauro, i memoriali sopravvissuti sono stati restaurati ove possibile.

L'interno è stato progettato per fluire verso l'alto e verso l'esterno fornendo diversi punti di vista per visualizzare i dettagli originali. Il soffitto originale e le colonne di supporto hanno fornito la struttura per un concetto di design minimalista, accentuando ulteriormente la straordinaria maestria vittoriana. Il vetro verde e blu si combinano con risultati sorprendenti per creare una sorprendente quantità di calore per un così grande volume di spazio. Inner Loft è contemporaneo ma la giustapposizione di vecchio e nuovo crea un equilibrio confortevole, dando al Loft la vera sensazione di una casa. The Inner Sanctuary was a unique rental in walking distance from the historical district of Savannah. We enjoyed the well-stocked kitchen, spacious rooms, and quiet neighborhood. The beautiful spring flowers, sound of the fountain in the garden, and interesting renovation of a church were added benefits. Communication with host was excellent.

We loved our stay at Sanctuary Place located near the quiet south end of Forsyth Park. We are happy to walk and did so several times heading north through Forsyth and also the gorgeous streets with all those "Savannah Squares." Each square is unique and has a story to tell. We enjoyed the lively North Historic district and Riverfront, but were glad to be staying in the peaceful Victorian neighborhood with less tourists. There was great dining easily within a 5 minute walk of Sanctuary Place (The Black Rabbit and Local11ten Food & Wine were stand-outs). The property is gorgeous, impeccably clean and fully equipped with everything you will need. We appreciated all the interesting books during our re-coup & re-charge time at the house. This is a vacation property that won't fade away in memory like most do; It is unforgettable in the best way!

Had a wedding in Charleston and decided to extend the trip to visit Savannah. Couldn't believe our luck to find this beautiful place to stay! My friend took the uppermost bedroom and I had the 1st floor room. (The 3rd bed is on the 2nd "level" of the open stairs and doesn't have privacy.) The owner was always quick to respond and very accommodating. The unit was stocked with just about everything you could need. The beds were super comfortable. It was a quiet neighborhood and there were no problems finding parking. We walked everywhere and thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Savannah and staying at the Sanctuary!

The property was unique and close to walk or short Uber ride to all that you would want to see or do in Savannah. We were bummed that we had to cut our stay short due to the power outage from hurricane Helene. Kevin, the owner was very easy to work with and I wouldn’t hesitate staying at this property again.

Absolutely the best place we’ve ever stayed while visiting Savannah. We’ve been regular visitors since the summer of 2022 and this will now be our first choice when we need a place to stay. Our group of 5 visited Savannah for 3 nights to celebrate a birthday. This home was a perfect fit for us. The open loft concept was pretty unique & we really enjoyed it. The location was close enough to things where Ubers were not too expensive. We would stay here again.

If you are visiting the Savannah area, this property is where you want to stay! Perfect location. The photos in the listing do not do it justice. To say it is stunning is an understatement! Our host, Kevin, was fantastic! Perfect experience for our family!

What a beautiful property! Just WOW! Our group consisted of 4 adult women on a girlfriend getaway. We wanted a nice place to stay that was convenient & walkable to City Market & the Riverfront. Well, we got it! Kevin, the host, is FANTASTIC! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️He's one of the most easy going people I've ever met, & he's super accommodating. He's full of local information, too. You absolutely won't go wrong interacting with him & booking his place. Parking was easy on the street right outside of the door, & we watched the street sweeping signs as instructed. In our case, we parked on the day we arrived & never moved the car until we left 4 days later. Win-win! The free bus system, the dot, has a stop one block away near Forsyth Park. We tried it out for fun, & it runs all the way to the riverfront! Just pay attention for the times, & you'll be set if you don't want to walk. (It's an easy walk, though. We did it daily.) The house itself is stunning inside. We probably took 50+ pictures of all the beautiful original details. The soaking tub has a handheld showerhead & curtain around it which made it faster for our group to get ready. We had enough closets to hang our clothes & bathrooms to get ready. A queen blow up we brought fit easily in the living room. The courtyard was a great place for us to have coffee in the mornings, too. If we're back in the area, we'd love to stay here again.

"Wow, so cool", were the first words we all said as we walked in the door. If you are looking for a unique stay this is on the list. We enjoyed all the original historical architectural details of the church and the stain glass windows casting beautiful colors throughout while full of remembrances to loved ones.

We had a wonderful stay at the Inner Sanctuary! The pictures do not do this place justice. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable, and there is enough room so you’re not on top of each other. Kevin was great. He quickly replied to any question we had. We are looking forward to our next visit!

Property is as exactly as pictured- very cool space. 1 ‘traditional’ bedroom, 1 loft bedroom and another bed in a suspended landing area near the loft. Worked well for a close group of friends! Good location- we walked to most Places, allowed us to explore easily. Uber was available quickly the few times we used it. The owner was very kind and responsive- made check in/checkout a breeze (which we were very grateful for due to an early morning departure time).
