The Space:

The owner spared no expense in creating the most pleasurable experience one could ask for when visiting Savannah. This home was recently purchased and made available to visitors. Listed in the Savannah Morning News as the most expensive residential purchase at the time. Inside you'll find that no detail has been overlooked. This home is dripping in upscale amenities, from the gourmet chef's kitchen with wine fridge, 4 bedrooms 4 and a half baths with 3 private ensuites, to the beautiful private courtyard with two hot tubs. This home is decorated beautifully and will leave you torn as to whether to explore Savannah or relax here in your own private Oasis.



The main house is equipped with a beautiful, fully equipped, custom kitchen with a wine fridge and large island countertop. The kitchen and dining area open to a spacious living area equiped with a 75 inch smart tv. Upstairs there are three bedrooms, each equipped with a 55 inch smart tv. Two of the bedrooms have private ensuites and the third bedroom has access to a full bathroom for their private use. Each bed is equipped with high end mattresses and bedding for the utmost sleeping comfort. Outside, there is a private courtyard with an abundance of seating along with a hot tub for your outdoor relaxation.



This home also has a charming carriage house, located on the opposite end of the courtyard. The carriage house is equipped with a fully stocked private kitchen that opens to its own living area. It also has a private bedroom with ensuite. The living room is equipped with a queen sized sleeper sofa for your convenience. The carriage house also has two 55 inch smart tv's. Additionally, the carriage house has its own private courtyard with private seating and a second hot tub.



Finally, this home is equipped with a two car garage for your personal use.

  • Designed by John S. Norris for General Hugh Weedon Mercer, construction of the house began in 1860. Construction was interrupted by the American Civil War, and finally completed around 1868 by the new owner, John Wilder. Before Hansford's death, as retold in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, the house had already been the scene of two deaths. In 1913, a previous owner tripped over the second floor banister, fractured his hip, and suffered a concussion, dying three days later. In 1964, a boy chasing pigeons on the roof fell over the edge and impaled himself on the iron fence below.
