Casa privata sulla spiaggia sull'isola esclusiva di Windermere.

  • Rilassati in totale privacy su una spiaggia incontaminata. La casa di fronte all'oceano e la guest house / studio d'arte si affacciano direttamente su 165 piedi di spiaggia di sabbia rosa con un delicato mare turchese chiaro (protetto dalla barriera corallina per bambini e nuoto). La sabbia soffice di polvere di corallo è fresca da camminare sempre e ci sono 5 miglia di spiaggia da passeggiare. Posizione molto privata (raramente vedere i vicini). Windermere Island è una comunità di isole chiuse e sicure, poco più di un minuscolo ponte dall'isola principale di Eleuthera. La pesca all'osso e lo snorkeling sono a portata di mano.

    La casa progettata da un architetto "Ho-Hum" è piena di sole e di vedute nascoste nel bel paesaggio delle Bahamas. Ci sono due ampie camere da letto nella casa principale. Il maestro ha un letto matrimoniale, angolo ufficio e giardino privato recintato fuori dal bagno padronale con doccia esterna. La seconda camera ha 2 letti singoli (facilmente convertibili in re). Entrambe le camere sono dotate di bagno privato e patio. Camere da letto libro-fine un grande soggiorno dal soffitto alto con zona pranzo, cucina completa e splendida veranda / breezeway con grande tavolo da pranzo e zona salotto (con un futon confortevole di buona qualità per i bambini o traversine extra). L'intera casa ha un patio avvolgente vista mare per prendere il sole e mangiare all'aperto. C'è anche un futon pieno di dimensioni nella camera di vetro breezeway che può ospitare un 7 ° ospite.

    Una guest house / studio d'arte separata, anch'essa con vista sull'oceano, si trova a soli 100 metri dalla casa principale. Ha 2 letti singoli (facilmente convertibili in re) e un angolo letto piccolo / bambino-dimensioni. Guest house dispone di angolo cottura, piccola vasca e patio privato con vista sull'oceano. C'è anche una grande isola con un lavandino di artista in più e un ampio spazio per i progetti artistici (sono disponibili anche alcuni cavalletti). Le viste sulla spiaggia e sul mare sono ovunque!

    Il villaggio di Savannah Sound si trova a pochi minuti in auto, sede del nuovo e acclamato Fishbone Beach Bar and Grill, situato proprio sul suono. C'è anche un negozio di alimentari, Midway Cost Cotters, a Savannah Sound. Le città di Palmetto Point e Tarpum Bay sono dieci minuti di distanza. Entrambi hanno diversi negozi e ristoranti. La principale città di Governors Harbour, a 25 minuti di distanza, ha negozi di alimentari, ristoranti, negozi di liquori, due banche con sportelli bancomat, una panetteria, negozi di souvenir, un negozio di immersioni e una clinica medica. Ha una bella piccola collezione di case e chiese del 19 ° secolo che si affacciano su un pittoresco porto. The most relaxing vacation ever

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Ho Hum is truly a magical place! My grandparents built this wonderful house back in the late 60s and being able to bring my family here and share this amazing place with them was a once in a life time experience. The house is still as beautiful and charming as ever and the beach is the just as private and spectacular as when I was a little girl.As my grandparents used to tell us when we would visit years ago, getting here isn't easy but if it was it wouldn't be so special.Being at Ho Hum is worth the effort to get there.The only thing you can do there is get relaxed!And that is what we did. We swam, snorkled at the reef (we saw sea turtles, rays, an octopus and lots of tropical fish) woke up to stunning sunrises, star gazed at night and simply slowed down.Ho Hum is island living at it's best.

It was clean and though a little tired, everything worked and Wallace and Tina who help take care of the house were very responsive and welcoming. A heavenly place to spend a vacation!!

Really beautiful house, on a stunning beach.........BUT?

Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our party of four, 2 couples, were warned by the booking agent that Ho Hum was tired, but we wanted to be on Windermere Island, as we knew the beach was magnificent. We looked forward to 3 relaxing weeks. Ho Hum is a magnificent home, with awesome views, and the interior is lovely, Had we been staying for only 1 week, we would probably have overlooked a lot of the numerous things that needed fixing, but over the course of 3 weeks, it is important that a house functions well. Then a horrible thing happened! Two rats and a mouse appeared in the master bedroom. We should have realized on our arrival that there were rodents in the room, as a chest of drawers was chewed around the top and bottom edges, we informed the caretaker, who sent over 3 live rat traps, by day 3 of seeing very obvious signs that rats were living in the room, we informed the agent, that we could no longer stay in the house, and we’d like our money back. The listing agent proceeded to find us alternative accommodation, while we went back and forward with the owner, negotiating how much of our money should be returned. The contract does not cover anything about rat infestation,which the owner pointed out to us, telling us she was in no way obligated to return any of our money, as we were choosing to leave. Finally she returned 2weeks plus1 day, and also returned our $1000 security deposit. There were so many thing damaged and broken in the home, it really didn’t seem reasonable to pay a $1000 security deposit. We did inform the caretaker on our arrival of all the things that were broken.My overal impression of Ho Hum is that there needs to be considerable renovations done on the house. At no time did the owner offer to send an exterminator to deal with the problem. This is a lovely house that has been allowed to slip into a state of disrepair, but with rats and mice lurking around in the bedroom and living room we had no choice but to leave. We lost 4 precious days of our vac

Reviewer Comments: A stay on Windermere Island is a treat, as a quiet retreat the Ho Hum House is tired. Clean enough, but beach houses near the ocean need upkeep inside and out: holes in bed sheets, kitchen appliances worn out or not working, no hangers or dresser in the second bedroom, outdoor showers non-existent although website indicated otherwise. Management, housecleaner and property manager very responsive, however.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Gagnon family arrived a day late due to the our flight was in an hour late. We spent the night in fort Lauderdale. We finally arrived and were thrilled to see the breathtaking views of Ho Hum house. As our week went on we went scuba diving snorkeling swimming and beaching . The house was perfect for our family. We noticed that the house is getting a bit run down and needs some things fixed. We really did not care though because it was fun for us all.

The home, staff and amenities get a B, but we would stay here again. Would bring more provisions, books and games the next time as there is nothing to do after dark and the bugs start biting at dusk. Views are magnificent!
