  • Admire breathtaking views of Sawyer's Cove toward Blue Hill Bay from this stunningly situated home on the western shores of Mount Desert Island, where you'll have an expansive wrap-around deck right near the water. Built in 2004, this bayfront home is modern, spacious, comfortable, and tucked neatly into the island's mature woodlands. You and your family will be treated to two complete levels of living space, two full kitchens to make cooking with your loved ones a breeze, and wonderful access to Southwest Harbor, Bar Harbor, and the incredible landscapes of Acadia National Park. A community tennis court is perfect for outdoor recreation.

    Beachcombers and kayakers will appreciate being able to walk just a few steps to the shores of idyllic Sawyer's Cove. Should you choose to leave the property (and you may not), the bustling villages of Southwest Harbor (seven miles) and Bar Harbor (14 miles) are only minutes away by car, and you'll find the Seal Cove portion of Acadia just down the road. When you're not strolling the Ocean Path or cycling on carriage roads in the park, you can enjoy the very quiet cove watching shorebirds and beautiful sunsets. Please respect the families in homes nearby, and remember that sound travels clearly over water.

This place was awesome. Do note though that there is no air conditioning. However, the bay breeze and ton of windows definitely keeps it comfortable. The view is incredible. I definitely hope to stay again.

Nice home that is very spacious

I rated this house good because it met expectations. It's a large house with a nice view. Clean and well equipped. It's off the beaten path a little which was fine but you end up driving to get to everything you need in the middle of the island or to Bar Harbor.

Fantastic views, gorgeous sunsets, and very quiet location make this home great. We would stay at Compass Rose again because of that. It’s a bit dated, but has everything you need and has plenty of comfortable couches. We covered all of Mount Desert Island from Seal Cove with everything just 15-30 minutes away. Perfect for our family gathering.

Perfect location

We had a wonderful stay at compass rose. The large deck overlooking the water and secluded, peaceful location were the best parts. We spent the days exploring Acadia national park and looked to returning in the evening to relax on the deck.

Acadia & Bar Harbor Summer Vacation

We spent a week at Seal Cove and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The home was in terrific condition and very clean. The location on the west side of the island was perfect for us, quiet and peaceful.

Great House!

The house is absolutely beautiful, clean and has a fantastic layout. The location is super quiet and private. Booking was super easy and communication and updates were very timely and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful House at a Beautiful Location

We had an awesome stay at this beautiful home on Seal Cove. While the pictures looked great when we booked the house, we were incredibly pleased to find the actual home and location were so much better in person! If you're looking for a clean, modern, spacious home at a location with breathtaking views, then this listing completely fits those requirements. We highly enjoyed our stay.
