“The Occidental Lodge is a very charming, old-school lodge that is well-maintained and absolutely spotless. My favorite part was that there were no smells at all in the room, which I loved!The lodge is located in a tiny, quiet town that I would describe as a micro-country town. If you are planning a weekday stay, just keep in mind that the only things open are a little market and a breakfast café that closes at 3:00 PM. “We love the Astro! The staff is super friendly and helpful, the rooms are artsy, clean, and spacious, and the property is also well maintained. It feels like apartments rather than motel rooms. We also like the lounge and the other guests that were staying there. Would definitely return if we’re in the area.”

“I gave a two stars at maintenance because in room 102 makes a terrible noise that was not able to reconcile my sleep and kept me awake all night, it’s like a constant water leak drop but loud. Over all the place is very nice and neat.”

“Very clean and nicely updated room. Staff were helpful and friendly. Well equipped workout room. Costco and Trader Joe’s are across the street which made for easy shopping and gas. We didn’t use the pool because it wasn’t heated. Too chilly. If you are noise sensitive, you are as close to highway 101 as you can get so expect traffic noise.”

“the sheets, towels, bed, were great. However, the bathroom was poorly maintained. Cracks in the shower, no place to hang a towel, holes around the toilet paper holder, and no hot water at the sink. The main light in the room did not work. The phone had not been wiped down in some time. The rooms badly need some TLC.”
