“The room was clean but had a number of issues : Although there was a coffee machine , a radio , and a fan there were no bedside lights. The main light switch by the door was the only control meaning finding your way around in the dark. The notice on the wall of upcoming events was a month out of date There were nasty glass mugs rather than a proper mug or cup The snack basket for occupants to purchase was vastly over priced There were birds nesting in the roof over the room which were noisy...

“We booked The Relais Cooden beach via Expedia particularly for its location and spa facilities. We had booked the "Cosy double room" because that was all that was left. On arrival we tried to book spa treatments but there were no available bookings during our three night stay. This was disappointing as there was no mention on the Expedia website that you needed to book in advance. Apparently, guests who booked directly with the hotel enjoyed free use of the spa whereas booking through Expedia...

“Visited as we had a family funeral with the wake being held at the Bannatyne hotel. As a family we couldn’t recommend it more, we were given a room upgrade which was lovely. Breakfast was excellent with great choice for everyone. Would definitely stay again.”
