Overall, the house itself was nice in several ways. The beds were comfortable, the showers were nice, and the main living areas were generally what we expected from the listing. That said, there were several issues that affected our stay. There were two bee hives and a wasp nest around the deck, which made it difficult and honestly a little unsafe to sit outside. I texted the number I was given within about five minutes of arriving at the property about the bees and wasps, but I never received a response to that message. We only had five bath towels for four people for the week, which felt very limited. The kitchenware was also more limited than expected. For example, there were no scissors, and we found ourselves missing some basic items during the week. The air hockey table turned on, but the airflow was too weak for the puck to glide, so it really wasn’t usable. The fire pit outside was full of ash, which made it hard to get oxygen to the fire. I ended up not using it even though I had wanted to.The pool room was the biggest issue. We couldn’t stay in there for more than about 10 minutes without our eyes burning from the chlorine. If there was a vent or way to air it out, we couldn’t find it. Because of the chlorine level and lack of ventilation, we stopped using both the indoor pool and the hot tub after the second day, which was disappointing since those were major features of the property.
