Walking through the main door, we were warmly greeted by name. The friendly owners and the ambiance was as if we were visiting our most favorite extended family members that we’ve not seen in a long time. Our room was very clean, had a pull down darkening shade (for those that struggle with the 24-hour daylight), small refrigerator, coffee maker, TV, basic toiletries, heater, fan, and extra bedding. We chose this location because it is quiet and removed from downtown Seward (which is just a few minutes drive away). Next door is a small restaurant which offers delicious Alaskan seafood (when they don’t close for the day due to lack of staff) and on the other side is a business that offers kayak experiences and a few other things. From this location, you have magnificent views of the mountain. If you want to see the ocean, possible marine life, and save hundreds of dollars, stay at this lodge, and then drive to and park in downtown Seward.
