This home truly embodies the Alaskan spirit. As you enter the living room, you're greeted by a magnificent brown bear (with a story) - a majestic reminder of the incredible wildlife that thrives here. The walls are adorned with other beautifully mounted Alaskan animals, each adding a touch of rustic charm and a sense of connection to the surrounding wilderness. It's not for everyone, but for those who appreciate the natural world, it's a truly captivating experience. The owners were incredibly communicative and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed for a beautiful stay.

Pleasant Stay
The property is very Alaskan with lots of authentic touches. Lona and her husband have put a lot of work into making it a great experience. Lona is very friendly and helpful. We had a great stay and would recommend the home to others who visit Seward.

Everything just perfect!
This was our second stay here and we will be back again. The house is clean, very well supplied, and in an awesome location. We had lots of fun outside playing cornhole and sitting in the sun. Great place and great hosts!

Lorna went above and beyond helping us with our transportation issues, and offering to pick us up from a location which had no cellphone service, in case we got stranded there. Thank you so much!

WOW!! You can't get a better stay than here!
We stayed for 2 nights. Lona is an absolute doll and fantastic with communication. She stopped in after we arrived to drop off fresh baked cookies. The coffee was already prepped for the morning. She also let us know that there was construction in town and to make sure we allowed an extra 15 mins to get to our fishing trip. The location is 7mins outside of town, so very convenient to get to the charters. The home itself had 3 queen beds, and 3 twins, and 2 full bathrooms stocked with extra soft towels. The kitchen had everything you could imagine you might need. If it wasnt there, you didn't need it. If you need a place to stay - DON'T LOOK FURTHER THIS IS IT!!! Thanks Lona & Dean!

Amazing location and great hosts!
What a great place to stay! If you're looking to get a sense for the wildlife in SE Alaska, this place will surely help. It's also fully stocked, very comfortable and the hosts are incredibly kind and gracious. Our only regret is that we couldn't spend more time there. We highly recommend and if we visit the area, we'd love to come back!

Great place and wonderful hosts
This was the perfect place for our family of 6. (Parents and 4 adult children) It is a spacious, comfortable home with extra amenities of outdoor picnic patio, porch front and back, washer & dryer and more kitchen equipment than any VRBO we have ever stayed in. Convenient, quiet location easy to find. The hosts are the best part - helpful with information and tips about the area and lots of interesting stories about their time in Alaska. Highly recommend!!!

Lovely stay
We booked this property to spend the night in Seward before our halibut fishing trip so we wouldn’t have to leave Soldotna super early the morning of the trip. I’m so thankful we decided to stay at your property! Lona was super easy to communicate with leading up to our arrival and during our stay. The house was very clean and the property was really lovely with a fire pit and sitting area by a stream. We really loved the dinner recommendation Lona made also! My father remarked that he wished we had been able to stay longer and I agree. Thanks Lona, hope we will be able to stay with y’all again!

One of a kind
This property is very unique and one of a kind with the decor. All the beds were comfortable, kitchen & baths were well stocked and the property was overall fantastic! A must stay if you’re in the area.

Amazing home base for making memories in Seward and at Kenai Fjords National Park! Very close! The house was super clean, well laid out for families of groups, and seeing the animal specimens was an adventure in itself! The hosts go above and beyond to communicate and they are pros at making it a great experience. Recommend highly!

Great get-a-away
We stayed just one night after our train ride to Seward and was a perfect location. There was a long-term guest on site as well as the owners who were sweet enough to stop by and say hello. While the heater for the home was located in main living space, the owners had plenty of heavy blankets for the bedrooms…great beds, great pillows, great sleep! Thank you for opening your home to us!

Absolutely a great place to stay!!!
Great home and great host! A lot of thought and detail put into this place. We tried to take advantage of everything in the one night we were there (smores, cornhole, grilled steaks...). In addition, the decor cannot be beat😁...we highly recommend!

Very interesting property and hosts. Really added to our time in Seward. Appreciated various recommendations including driving Nash road to Fourth of July Beach ... great for moose spotting. Loved staying here!

Lona & Steve are great hosts
Lona & Steve were there to greet us and tell us about the area. Their cabin felt like home the minute we walked in. We highly recommend staying at Steve drove two of our party to their fishing expedition. By the time we left we felt we had made 2 new friends. We highly recommend staying at Bear Creek

The best cabin in Seward

The home was beautiful and comfortable. Lona and Dean were so welcoming and fun to talk to, yet not intrusive. Well stocked kitchen, delicious cookies on arrival and surprise treats for the fire pit. We had fun with the bags and washers games too. Would definitely stay here again!

Property was very clean and came equipped with everything we needed. Communication with host was excellent. Hosts really put in the extra effort to make you feel at home and make sure you have everything you need. Great location, very close to town. You won't regret staying here!

Seward for a week
We have stayed at many vacation homes around the world and I've gotta say "Do not pass this one up!" Lona was there to help us with anything we needed but also gave us our privacy. She's the best! Perfect location, better than the pics. I honestly can't say enough good things about this place and Lona. Don't hesitate, book it now! Thank you Lona for making our trip great.

Loved my stay at the Sportsman house. Hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Went boondocking in my truck and got terribly stuck, told them about it and had a list of potential tow companies super fast, and had my truck pulled out of a quick sand bog by the end of the day. The house is great, the decor is excellent, and the owners are magnificent. I’ll be booking with them every time I stay in Seward.

Alaskan Winter Adventure
We thoroughly enjoyed our winter stay at Bear Naked Cabin. The house was extremely comfortable and equipped so well. The large upgraded TV was totally unexpected but greatly appreciated. Lona and Dean were most thoughtful throughout our lengthy stay and eager to make our visit perfect. The house was warm and cozy during those cold cold winter days. Thanks for keeping the drive and parking area cleared from all the snow accumulations. It was fun watching Dean create those neat fur hats and Lona sew so many beautiful coverlets. What a treat it was to see the wildlife in action on Christmas morning. The bear paw chocolate chip cookies and raspberry jam were delicious. Thanks so much Lona and Dean……you made our Alaskan winter adventure something we will remember the rest of our lives!

Thanksgiving in Alaska
Our second month at the cabin has been great. We've enjoyed watching a baby moose roam the property and majestic eagles flying around and resting in the trees. Preparing our Thanksgiving meal and holiday treats have been easy in the well equipped kitchen. Lona and Dean aim to please and continue to go above and beyond to make our trip memorable. Thanks!

Convenient to Seward yet secluded
We enjoyed the Alaska 'feel" of the property. The family had a wonderful time around the fire pit. We hope to return sometime in the future! Just wish the washer and dryer did not require quarters, very inconvenient.

Just Perfect!
The place was exactly as advertised, very clean, all the amenities one needs for an Alaskan vacation. Ideal location outside of Seward, and Lona was absolutely wonderful. She offered all kinds of suggestions and help to make our trip memorable. I would highly recommend this Alaskan's Sportsman Home to anyone.. It is very roomy, phenomenal mountain views, easily accessible, and an ideal location near Seward and all the hiking and fishing one can do. We would definitly stay here again.

Authentic Alaskan adventure
Stayed with our four grands. The stairs to the upstairs bedrooms were steep and scary for seniors. Kitchen a little rough but overall very warm, comfy and adventurous.

Great Seward Stay!
Perfect home for a Seward stop in Alaska. House was very comfortable and well stocked, host Lona was delightful and responsive, even leaving cookies to enjoy. Had a nice place to grill out and it was good to be away from the town but close enough to easily catch our glacier tour boat. Coffee pot was ready to go, a nice touch.

Perfect place to stay
Nothing says “you’re on an Alaska vacation” like this wonderful cabin just a short drive outside of town. Everywhere you turn you find something interesting to see- from art to wildlife specimens to books. The beds were very comfortable and the curtains blocked out the midnight sun. Being able to cook breakfast each day was a money saver. And if you’re like us and arrive without quarters for the washer/dryer- Lona has some to sell you. We especially enjoyed our bear paw cookies that she delivered. (And definitely go on a boat ride in resurrection bay!)

Great Alaskan Getaway
This is a unique property with great views and location! You are very close to all the local activities but far enough away to enjoy the peaceful woods and mountain views. The home is clean, spacious, has a wonderful kitchen, plenty of sleeping space, and the washer/dryer were appreciated. The owner of the property is extremely friendly and helpful. Our family loved our stay here!

Truly amazing!
We truly enjoyed our stay here. The cabin is warm and cozy. Loved all the hunting decor. Would be our dream place to live. The beds are snuggly and comfy with lots of blankets and pillows. We also loved the outdoor pavilion with the games, horseshoes, washers and corn hole. We played them all!! Cabin feels secluded but super close to town. Dean and Lona are welcoming and helpful! Enjoyed visiting with them. Highly recommend!!!
