Beautiful lodge all hand made by Scott. Amazing views from the lodge which has great windows overlooking the river where short bill gulls fish and also saw a bald eagle fly by. Warm welcome from Scott. A really nice play to stay, highly recommend.

Best spot in seward!
Absolutely incredible cabin that screams Alaska!! The host was A+. The home was A+. Close to town and close to all excursions/companies. Our host recommended restaurants and excursions and all were top notch.

A Great Stay in a Lovely Lodge
My husband and I spent three nights at the lodge and really enjoyed it. The space was large and perfect for the two of us, and the couch and tables were a nice touch to be able to spread out a bit. The scenery and creek were beautiful and it was so fun to watch the eagles fly by throughout the day. One morning I woke up to see an eagle eating a salmon on the riverbank - an only-in-Alaska experience.

Today we had a young bull moose, 2 mergansers (fish eating ducks), tons of salmon and a river otter (a very playful one!) A banner day on Salmon Creek! The creek is right outside your door and fishing seems to be easy as we saw people catching and releasing fish. The eagles were amazing!

We loved this rental for its location and all the beauty that surrounded the property. Our host was so thoughtful and helpful with his suggestions of what to see and where to eat in the area. We loved everything about our stay.

Beautiful and convenient location
We loved this cozy cabin. They have big windows looking out on a creek and we watched bald eagles and other wildlife wander through. The cabin itself is well appointed- we were able to make whole meals here, especially with the bbq. It’s only a six minute drive to town yet feels secluded. We’d stay here again.

Cozy little cabin in Seward
We had a lovely stay at Bear and Berry Cabin. Scott, the property manager, was easy to communicate with and prompt to reply. He was extremely helpful and responsive to any questions we had and offered up tons of ideas and suggestions if things to do while in Seward. The cabin sits next to his home, but you wouldn't know it otherwise. Scott was never intrusive. We enjoyed speaking with him but he was also very respectful of giving us our privacy. The cabin itself was cute and cozy! The views were amazing. We saw several Eagles around the creek, a mama moose and her baby, and so many salmon in the creek. Even though you can't fish in that creek, it was entertaining to walk down by it and just watch! The cabin is at the end of a road, so very private. But it's also pretty close to town, about a 10min drive. We would definitely stay here again if we're ever in the area. We love to support our veterans, so you can't go wrong staying at this cabin!

It is like living in a park surrounded by wildlife. The pictures shown in the advertisement cannot do justice to the actual environment. It is a beautiful place to stay.

Absolutely GORGEOUS!
Everything about our hosts and house was fantastic; we highly recommend you stay here. The views from the house were marvelous! The house was spotless and comfortable. The bald eagles right outside the house were gorgeous. One request if you stay: buy peanuts for the Stellar Jays and Magpies that will visit. The Stellar Jay ate right out of our hands.

A wonderful and quiet getaway.
Scott is a thoughtful host; everything we needed was provided, along with some extras! He gave us great advice on things to do and see, places to eat. Cottage was very clean, well stocked, and the view — amazing. Saw many bald eagles!

Sean...Thanks for staying with us. The fishing on the 5th and 6th of June was amazing...limited out in 30 minutes. Can never tell when the fish are going to push through or if the cost recovery boats are out there! First week of June is always a safe bet. Again, thanks for coming and hope to see you next year! Great views
Cute, nicely decorated cabin with great views of the creek and trees outside. It was a pleasure meeting Scott and his son as they were getting ready for the summer season. Scott shared his knowledge and information on activities in the area. The cabin was a nice place to rest after some local adventures in Seward.

Perfect stay near Seward!
We were lucky enough to stay at this beautiful cabin for a few days! It is on the same property as the owners, but you would never feel that way. Scott was super nice and introduced himself after we arrived and was able to give us information and recommendations for the area. Super likeable guy and was generous enough to leave us a bottle of wine and also offered some smoked salmon (which we should have taken him up on)! It was just a short drive from town, yet felt like we were so secluded. I would definitely stay here again. Missed out on some of the wildlife in the area, but the rain didn't let up during our stay. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful place.

Beautiful spot
Thank you for sharing your wonderful cabin with us! It had everything we needed to be comfortable and more. Loved watching the eagles and catching dolly varden in the stream. The bed was super comfortable, great to rest in after a long day hiking in Seward. Scott was great with communication, answered all our questions quickly. Also had a bottle of wine waiting for us when we got there! Thanks again for a wonderful stay!

Perfect Alaska Cabin
Our stay at Bear and Beary Cabin was excellent. Scott is an excellent host with great local knowledge and help. Generous and gave us a delicious socket salmon filet. What a special treat! Best I’ve eaten! We look forward to return. Loved seeing Melanie’s paintings and studio on-site. Fresh brown bear tracks on the creek edge were a highlight. Thank you for everything Scott!

Great place! Highly recommend!
Great location. Located in a wooded area with a creek running across the property. Caught Dolly Varden trout and pink salmon . Short drive to Seward and it’s activities. Extremely clean facility. Well decorated with Alaskan decor. Gas Grill on the deck for cooking. Very cozy and comfortable.

As advertised, wonderful. Great place to stay
We saw a moms moose with her two babies walk by. Salmon in the stream, bunnies hoped by and an occasional eagle glide by. Scott was most helpful. The only thing I would wish is that we couldn’t hear the road in the distance but I think that is inevitable in Ak. Best place to stay near Seward

Planning next trip
Scott was very friendly and gave us ideas what excursions to do. The view and the privacy were more than we expected. Thank you for the wine, which we drank numerous bottles just hanging out watching the eagles. The town is very quaint and restaurants very close by. We hope to visit again on our way to homer.

Just what we wanted
It's impossible to talk about the place without first acknowledging how welcoming and helpful Scott was from beginning to end. I booked way in advance so had lots of time to bedevil him with questions, all of which he answered with kindness and grace. Because of him, our stay in Seward was absolutely perfect. The house itself is light-filled with a very comfortable bed, sofa, dining table and small but workable kitchen. Then there's the grill and table and chairs outdoors. I hesitate to write this because I don't want him to feel obligated to do the same for every guest but the gift of a fresh-caught salmon filet is a perfect example of the kind of host he is. We hiked a number of the trails he suggested and went out to the Aialik Glacier with Kenai Fjords Tours. All in all, a delightful vacation. Oh, and did I mention the weather? Perfect.

Nice location on a creek to watch wildlife. It was close to town. Scott was a great host. My husband loved the large deck. It was nice that they left us fruit, crackers, and wine. We would highly recommend and are thinking of going back. What a great vacation!

Best Place to Stay in Seward!
What an amazing experience! Scott was a gracious host, with helpful communication before and throughout our stay. We loved the location, being close enough for a quick trip into downtown Seward but secluded enough to enjoy the true Alaska. Especially loved the stream filled to the brim with salmon just outside the front door!

Well appointed home with beautiful view
My husband and I truly enjoyed staying in this cabin for our stay in Seward. The location is close to town but in a very nice neighborhood with forested acreage outside of town. From the deck in the evenings, we watched eagles fly above the river at the back of the property and saw salmon swimming up river. The inside is well appointed with everything you need and the bed is very comfortable. Scott is a great host. I highly recommend this property for your stay!

Best accommodation ever
Absolutely adored staying here. The family of eagles behind the property? Are you kidding?? The host was so communicative and recommended what ultimately became one of my favorite hikes/nature walks of our time in Alaska. In terms of accommodation itself, bed was comfy, had a full stocked kitchen, they left us fruit and crackers too. Cannot recommend enough and would absolutely go back. Thanks again!!

Convenient location on a creek to watch wildlife right outside the large windows. Host was very cutesy to provide fruits and vine. Cabin is very new and better than in the pictures.

Stay At Bear & Berry Lodge
My husband and I stayed here for part of our honeymoon and used it as our base to explore Kenai Fjords NP and Seward. The property is amazing and the lodge was good. Scott was very easy to communicate with and gave us lots of suggestions for the area. The views are incredible and the lodge is located close enough to Seward, but also far enough away at the same time. We wish that there had been black out shades due to the midnight sun as it would have been difficult to sleep without an eye mask. Scott did provide eye masks, but they appeared to be common use (not packaged). We luckily brought our own, so it's just something to be aware of. Also, the wifi was a bit spotty. It worked, but we wouldn't have been able to work remotely here.

The BEST rental property in Seward!
First, I have to say Scott was the best host we have ever stayed with. He was soo helpful and answered every question we had for this trip. He gave the best local recommendations on places to hike, eat, and things to do. Host aside - the property was everything we needed and more. It was secluded/serene and cozy. You will love waking up to the beautiful creek in the backyard. There were so many bald eagles fishing on the property. The cabin itself was cozy, clean, and had every comfort of home you could possibly need. We hope to come back again soon, thank you Scott!

Mountain View oasis on peaceful Salmon Creek
Scott & Melanie went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful stay. Their thoughtfulness and abundance of recommendations made our first trip to Seward beyond welcoming. They left wine, fresh fruit & even some of Mel’s artwork - which is stunning and you’ll find throughout the cabin. They even let us use their kayaks for a day on the lake! Cabin was on a property with others but the layout/windows and patio make it feel extremely private and secluded, as you see no other homes out of your windows, which show breathtaking views of mountains and Salmon Creek. Bed was comfortable and the cabin was outfitted with anything you’d need, including bear spray for your hikes. We would certainly recommend.

The best rental property we have ever stayed in!
This place is absolutely magical! Scott is an amazing host! It was like we were visiting an old friend. The cabin is amazing! The view from the porch is incredible! We saw a Moose, eagles and lots of birds. It was such a wonderful place to sit and have coffee in the morning and a drink at night. We also used the grill to enjoy some Halibut and Salmon that Scott gave us. Delicious!! The bed was heavenly and we loved sleeping with the curtains open to wake up to that incredible view. You feel like you are out in the middle of nowhere but you are less than 10 minutes to Seward. Scott left us some wine and fruit as a gift and could not have been more helpful and kind during our stay He even let us borrow his kayaks and we had a wonderful time on Bear Lake where we saw a mama Bear with her two cubs playing on a beach. It felt like we were looking at the pages of National Geographic! There was also a bird who visited us every day on the deck like an old friend (Sterling Jay I think). I did alot of research on where to stay in Seward and this is hands down the best place! Do not hesitate you will not regret it. You will be treated like family. We had the trip of a lifetime and have left with new friends!

Alaska at it’s Best
We had such a wonderful stay! Scott was so incredibly helpful in the planning of our trip, and so thoughtful with his recommendations and communication. Once at the property we were welcomed with wine, fruit, and a hand painted photo from Melanie! The property is so clean and beautiful. The location couldn’t be more serene! The gas grill was great to grill our fresh catch on. I would highly recommend this property and would stay here the next time we come back to Alaska.

We spent two nights here. Very pleased. Everything clean and neat. Nice quiet location but still less than 15 minutes to Seward. Did miss not having a hair drier. Would certainly recommend

loved the location. the only thing I would have liked to have had was a washer & dryer and a dresser or somewhere to put your clothes after you unpacked. Clean place and friendly people.

Perfect Seward Getaway!
It would be hard to find a better place in Seward. You'll get the scenic setting you can usually only find camping, the comfort of a 4-star hotel and unmatched convenience! Not to mention, plenty of personal touches that made this place feel really special. We also saw Salmon in the stream, bald eagles perched in tree's and several stunning sunsets! Plus, Scott and Mel were the best hosts I could have asked for. They invited us over for dinner and sent us back with fresh ceviche, chicken and scalloped potatoes (which were all delicious, thank you Scott and Mel!) They were great company and their cabin was an incredible place to explore this amazing part of Alaska!

The Place To Stay In Seward

Excellent home with many thoughtful additions
The owners are very thoughtful with many special touches including a bottle of wine and fruit when you arrive. It's very clean and well appointed. The bed is super comfortable. The river views are superb. Enjoy.

Excellent stay!
I wish I could give more than 5 stars for this experience. The property was lovely and immaculate. The bed was the most comfortable we slept in on our entire 3 week vacation. Scott and Melanie were excellent hosts. We communicated with Scott a number of times and he was exceptionally helpful in directing us with things to do in the area and throughout the state. Our family of 4 fit this location just fine. Do not hesitate to book!

Amazing Peaceful Cabin
We were there with our friends (4 adults) close quarters but we knew that as we were looking for more of a camping experience. All was comfortable and Scott was very attentative to our needs. If we visit again we would book again. A beautiful bald eagle was great entertainment as we grilled on the deck. My only suggestion would be to replace the mattress for the pull out sofa :)

Secluded cabin
Scott and Melanie were excellent hosts, friendly and helpful. Communication was great from the time of booking until our trip. Scott even sent me information about which fish were running, wildlife sightings, guide suggestions, etc. The cabin was very clean, cutely appointed with Melanie’s artwork and bear skins, and the cabin had (mostly) everything you need. I say mostly because while they have an induction stove, it doesn’t work with their brand new but non-induction pots/pans, so we used the grill and microwave for cooking. The cabin is situated on a fresh water stream that joins a glacial river nearby. It is secluded but only 10 minutes from town. You need a car or to prearrange with a taxi or the one lyft driver Mathew (he showed up on time) if you need transportation. There are bald eagles that nest nearby and we saw bear prints all around the little beach but never did see a bear. The bed is very comfortable but the pull out sofa mattress is thin and springy. Bring eye masks in the summer as there are no black out curtains. This cabin was suitable for older children-ours (8&11) absolutely loved it, but I wouldn’t bring little ones who might break the nice decorations. We would love to return to Seward and the Bear and Berry Lodge!

Perfect spot...private but convenient
Our family of four (2 adults, 2 teenagers) thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night stay at this cabin. The cabin itself is small for four people, but very well appointed and comfortable. We especially loved sitting on the deck and watching the bald eagles each day. We were also able to see several salmon swimming upstream in the creek behind the cabin. The host is onsite and very helpful and responsive. The location was excellent...far enough from Seward to feel very private but close enough to be convenient.

Great place
I would highly recommend this place. It is close to Seward. The cabin is on a creek where you can see salmon. The cabin is very cute and comfortable. Scott was very helpful and friendly.

Scott and Melanie were awesome to deal with and had just the right touch for this getaway retreat! Fruit, Snacks and Wine were a great little benefit upon check-in. Very friendly and quick to respond in any question I had prior to booking!!!
