Host was very responsive in communication and very accommodating on our last minute trip with early check-in. Unfortunately, we could not stay for all of the nights we had booked, and we moved to a hotel.The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable for us. What I believe to be memory foam mattress and pillows felt very firm, to the point that it made it difficult to sleep. I don't think sleeping on the floor would have been less uncomfortable. In addition, the fragrance from the bedding—whether from detergent, fabric softener, or another product—was suffocating. As someone sensitive to strong scents and chemicals, this made sleeping very difficult and also caused my children to have runny noses.I also did not feel the home was as clean as expected. The refrigerator was not clean, there was a clump of hair near the downstairs toilet, and the glassware had a very strong chemical odor from the cleaner used, to the point that the scent transferred to my hands and made the dishes unusable for me.I understand that cleanliness standards and comfort preferences can vary, but I do feel that greater transparency in the listing would be helpful so guests know what to expect. This is a very well lived in house and the owners personal residence. Lastly, our stay was during a polar vortex and the single pane older windows in the bedrooms did not keep the rooms very warm. If the things listed above wouldn't bother you it is very conveniently located near 95 and easy to get to.
