Dear Kent, thank you for your review, although you gave us only 4 stars. Only two points: the big wardrobe in the sleeping room hasn't any mothball in it - only the left, closed part of the wardrobe has some parfume in it to keep the bed linen and the woolen quilts safe and clean. As you left the whole apartment had'n see any fresh air for a while, it seems like you didnÄ't open a window for the whole stay. And yes, the balconies don't have table and chairs in november, since it is too cold to sit outside. About parking: we wrote inthe description that we don't have a reserved parking, but we always find a place in the direct sorroundings. And this is a big plus point for a city like Siena, still having the city center in walking distance. So sorry you didn't like so much your stay, other guests did, and we cannot meet the taste of everybody. Also the communication with you was really very difficult. However, thank you for choosing our place!

Dear Skip, thank you for your review... the whole city of Siena is built on three hills, as your can see in our picture, the cathedral is on another hill, so you cannot visit Siena without hiking up and down. In front of our home there is a bus stop, so that you can avoid the little way up to San Domenico, and this is also written in our description of the apartment. I really don't understand why this should be a reason to rate us with only 4 stars. But we have to accept your opinion, we cannot change the topography of the city.

I am sorry to read Donna's review, but I expected it. Unfortunately, Donna did not keep in mind what is the real strength of our apartment: it is not a commercial location, we are not a hotel or a bed & breakfast or even a typical airbnb. We are a family that rents out its home to guests who want to get to know Italy, and specifically Siena, by living like Italians. It is true that Laura, the person who takes care of our house, does not speak English, but she is very good and punctual and keeps everything very clean. So I do not accept the criticism of dust everywhere, just look at the other evaluations. Donna was supposed to arrive in Siena at 4 p.m. and arrived at past 6 p.m., warning only at my request at past 4 p.m. that she was still at the airport. It was Sunday, and Laura had an appointment at 7 p.m., so she could not dwell on explaining the whole house (which is large). But on the chest of draws in the living room is a very detailed guidebook in three languages that all our guests found and praised for its accuracy. As for the fans, they obviously cannot cool the air, only move it. As the weather was still not warm, the air conditioner was not yet in the bedroom, it would have been enough to ask, because it was in the closet. But Donna wrote to me in an imperious and totally uncourteous tone upon arrival only to tell me in a testy manner that she had told me several times that she would write down the arrival time only when she was in the rental car.... The fact that I could not find the email with the IDs was my mistake, I apologized for it right away because I found them ten minutes after I asked for them.... But the lady was resentful. And she resurfaced only to tell me she was leaving a day early (original text: "We have decided to check out tomorrow morning"), with no reason, nor a goodbye. Fortunately, almost all our guests are not like that, they communicate accurately, are friendly, and feel at home with us. I would not recommend other hosts to take Donna in, unless you want to deal with an argumentative, unpleasant, imperious person.

So.much Kenneth! This is what we point out: this is a home, not a commercial rental. And people living at our home are guests of the family and can live here like we do! Ciao!

Dear Suzanne, thank you for your nice review. We are so happy you felt good at home in Siena. About air conditioning, due to lots of rules about the installation of outer AC-units we still have "only" a very powerful mobile AC-device (Pinguino) of the last generation that can cool down the temperature in the living room and in the big sleeping room (is on rolls and can be moved from one room to the other). And in September you only need to open the windows at night to get a breath of fresh air in the whole flat... Thank you for visiting us!
