A break from Winter

We have stayed at lots of rental properties along Siesta Key, including several times at House of the Sun. We always seem to come back here. We love this end of the Key because it isn't as crowded and is quieter, except for when Captain Curts across the street has their live band playing. But that is okay. We will be back. We also love this unit. It is awesome. Thank you for a wonderful time.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was a great experience. Beautiful unit with a balcony overlooking the gulf. Everything that you needed to enjoy our stay here. Our adult grand children said it was the perfect spot right in the middle of all the best eats, entertainment and beach. Already booked for next year.

Great location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Loved the location!! Had a nice ocean view. Building seemed a bit older. The drain in the shower of the master bathroom was broken, was also a bit disappointed that there was no hair dryer for the amount of money we spent. Other than that we enjoyed our stay!

Reviewer Comments: Beautiful location, nice clean condo but young kids and teenagers running through building until 3-4 in the morning, Screaming and playing tag all night and slamming doors, yelling after each other. 75+ people at the grills at dinner time and stayed until 10pm. no way were they all staying at House of the sun. We did not get much sleep. There is No security guard so this went on unchecked. Several of the other guests like us were very upset. One lady went into the hall to tell them to stop and the next morning found a cup of urine at her door. Too much money to pay for this kind of environment.

The unit was clean and when we called for an issue with a maintenance issue, someone came right up to fix the problem. The grounds were great and our family had a wonderful trip.

The ocean view is perfect from the livingroom window/patio.There are two sets of elevators so no long waits to use it. The maintenance staff was helpful - even over and above what is needed. The office staff was personable and helpful. I love the location, walking distance to restaurants, shop, etc.

The House of Sun provides easy access to restaurants and the free local trolley to provides transportation to the entire island. A dream vacation!

Air went out, was wasn't in good condition, microwave front broken, electrical outlets not in good order, ants and couch was not in good shape. The place needs to be upgraded.

A fantastic holiday

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a fantastic holiday at HOS and are definitely returning. We loved the beach, pool, games room and restaurants we could walk to. The building was well maintained and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. However we would not select unit 412 again. It was very run down and not the standard of HOS. The microwave door was duct taped, the couch cushions we sunk down into the frame, the dishwasher and washer didn’t work well, 25 watt bulbs in bedroom were too low to read, master bathroom shower drain was off.

Sand irritation in a good location.

Enjoyed the close proximity to the beach! Great sundown views!! ONE BIG NEGATIVE: The umbrella we rented for the day every day for $15 and the beach chairs were supposed to be ours until sundown. Whenever we went back up to the room during the day, the guys that were putting chairs away and collecting umbrellas evidently wanted to go home early. They always took everything and put them away---even though we left our ID lanyard wrapped on the chairs as instructed. Consequently, when we would come back down in the late afternoon or evening---HOURS prior to sundown---the chairs were already locked up and our spot was empty. Any chairs people didn't stay on all afternoon were put away and locked with a cable LANYARD AND ALL! Given that a lost lanyard incurs a $40 charge, I think when the lanyard is attached (as instructed,) to the chair, the chair(s) and umbrella should be left alone for the benefit of the guest(s) who paid for them. Fortunately, the sand, surf, and view smooths that over SOME, but it shouldn't have to. On a really positive side , the location is fantastic for walking to numerous really good seafood restaurants---all the way from straight across the street to only 1 or 2 blocks away. Fantastic location!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Furnishings were average/below average. Two leather chairs are cracked an discolored from guests who have lotion/bronzer on. House of Sun is a below average condominium compared to most newer condos but your price is at or near the top on entire beach. You will lose faithful customers. Our large group comes every year but the price hike will make us look elsewhere. A few of us moved rooms near street for lower price so we can come back next year.

I have found this year the condos have not been clean as in the past, stayed in 2 condos. Microwaves and dishwashers need to be fixed/checked in #412. When I left I gave the office a list for them to review and fix. Gates to the beach were not working.
