Pros: Humble and friendly staff, clean and serene resort, very relaxing. Good food at reasonable price. Angkor Draft USD1 only during happy hours from 4.30pm to 6.30pm, normal price USD1.25. I dont mind coming back here just to rest and relax.
Cons: I wish the government could help to keep the sea shore and other places clean. Major constructive work is going on while on the way to the resort.

I’m reviewing this solely on the property and it’s small section of the beach and not the surrounding area of Sihanoukville which is as horrific as everyone says. We stayed here for a night either side of our visit to the islands. We recommend this as it took away the stress of delayed ferry/ missing flight scenario and was a lovely place to chill. It also meant we could leave most of our luggage and just take a small rucksack each. This proved perfect for us as we needed very little clothing and could traverse the island to stay at Sundet beach easily. When we returned the lovely man at reception had arranged for our luggage to be waiting for us in our room. He also arranged for a taxi to be at the airport when we arrived (with an agreed price). We also booked ferry to the island through them at no extra cost and free pick up from ferry company. It made life very hassle free. The restaurant was great, the cocktails and happy hours well received. The sun beds plentiful and the pool pleasant in a tropical setting. Included breakfast and welcome drink were also lovely.

The Secret Garden is a gem. Kind and helpful staff, spotless and tastefully decorated bungalows by the beach. Excellent and restful stay. Hopefully The Secret Garden at Otres Beach will survive the onslaught of construction in the area.

Avoid Sihanoukville - environmental disaster
Secret Gardens is a little green oasis and cleanliness amongst a resort that is a massive building site on a gigantuan scale and a completely degraded environment - Sihanoukville is an eyesore and is to be avoided at all costs - we will never be back!! We were only there as a jumping off point for Koh ta Kiev - thank goodness we were booked in to stay at the secret garden.

De ligging is mooi en redelijk authentiek. In de toekomst met alle nieuwbouw zal dat snel veranderen. De omgeving is een grote bouwput. Erg jammer dat deel van Cambodja zal verdwijnen in China town.

We had a fabulous week at the Secret Garden. The setting is idyllic.
The room is clean (but lacking storage for clothes) and comfortable thanks to the AC. The outdoor shower is fab.
The food is really good and varied.
The entertainment on Friday night was top.

Alles in Allem noch eine der schöneren Anlage
Schöne Bungalow Anlage mit gepflegtem Garten. Rundumherum starke Bautätigkeiten, aufgerissene Straßen. Im Restaurant und an der Beach starke Bevorzugung einzelner Gäste.
Viele Liegebettbenutzer aus anderen Anlagen.

Great relaxing stay. The journey to Otres 2 is dreadful but once at the Secret Garden the horror of Sihanoukville seems far away! Secret Garden is located directly off the beach with its own beach front restaurant and sun loungers. Staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. Rooms are spacious, very clean, with good ac, fan, fridge and generous free supply of filter drinking water. Otres 2 is still a peaceful relaxing place to stay despite the nearby development and a Secret Garden with its direct seafront location is good value.

für ein 3-Sterne-Haus wirklich sein Zimmerpreis wert.
Schöne Bungalows in sehr gepflegter Anlage. Kein Baulärm zu unserer Zeit im Oktober 2018. Eine Oase im ansonsten total überforderten Sihanoukville mit seinen katastrophalen Strassen.

Nice place... not so great staff
The place was nice and in a great location...the rooms were clean and the neighbourhood cat is very friendly!
Conveniently the eftpos machine broke down when we went to pay- which was fine we had enough cash... however, when giving us back change- the staff lady at the front desk wanted to give us back only riel saying they didn’t have any US dollars (and the riel was actually less than we were meant to get back). Luckily I saw her flick through the change and said no I saw US dollars- she pretended she didn’t see and handed the US over. Something like this is just so untrustworthy. It’s little things that can ruin your stay- and unfortunately, this left a bad taste in my mouth.

One of the best around but we won't be back
I'm in two minds about Secret Garden. It's clearly one of the best options available in Otres but I left with a bad taste in my mouth. I booked a room for four people (3 adults, one child), and the room clearly slept four with two king singles that doubled as couches, and a queen bed. But they would only let the breakfast voucher include two people. Heh? Plus, when reimbursing the breakfast, they didn't do the full amount so my bill was wrong and due I suppose to the language barrier, it wasn't resolved. While the bungalow-style rooms are nice enough, none of us had a decent night's sleep. I accept there are wild dogs around, but you can hear them barking and fighting at night, and one other hotel decided to have a rave party that went for more than 12 hours and was incredibly loud. Again, the hotel can't help that. My other issue is that the staff weren't attentive and they only gave me a kids menu on the last day which I found so frustrating because the main menu didn't really have anything on there for him so a lot went to waste. It also took more than a day to collect plates from room service which is just poor service. If I go back to Otres, I think I'll try somewhere else. There are a lot of new hotels being built there (probably too many, but that's another story).

ビーチに繋がった素敵なホテル。
Otres Beachに面したレストランと道を挟んだホテルのプールとコテージ。静かな海岸の砂は白く美しい。部屋も広くはないが清掃も行き届き、清潔。スコールに備えた傘や籐のビーチバック等この環境を大切にするオーナーの気持ちを押しつけがましく無くいろいろな場所で感じる。ウエルカムドリンクもバーで好きなものを注文してのんびりできてよかった。5種類のクラシックなスタイルの朝食から一つをチョイスするスタイル。オムレツやサイドデッシュももとってもおいしかった。夕焼けを眺めながらのカクテルも素晴らしかった。夕食もホテル外からのお客さんも来る様です。終日ビーチでのんびりするには最高です。途中の道が工事中ということもあり、街のマーケットやレストランやカジノ・バー、その他観光地からは近くありません。トゥクトゥクやタクシーでの遠征となります。

価格相応、リーズナブルに行きたい人にマッチ。
名前の通り、隠れ家のように庭の中にコテージが点在。そのようなアレンジが好きな向きには受けると思う。
事前に何点か確認したいことがあり、ホテルに電話をするも「メールを入れておいてくれ」と言われるのみ。
実際にメールを入れたが、結局返信は無く当日確認となった。
朝食は、可もなく不可もなくという感じ。

Booked and pre-paid but didn't get a room!!
I'd love to be able to leave a review for this hotel, we spent weeks researching where to stay. However, upon arrival with our pre-paid Hotels.com (aka Expedia) booking made 2 months prior, we were told our booking had been cancelled by Expedia and that they were full!
In fairness to them, we had cancelled the booking a few days after initially making it as we received a decent discount code from Hotels.com, but immediately rebooked it and had all the proper confirmations printed out. I also had received email reminders about my "upcoming stay", and thelive booking on my Hotels.com app (which unfortunately I couldn't access at reception as the Secret Garden's wifi wasn't working - they attributed this to a fire on the phone lines in town, although the wifi in the hotel next door worked fine).
Understandably we were shocked and in a state of panic having traveled for 6 hours to get here. The manager Sharon spoke with the Naia Hotel next door who were able to offer us a fantastic room at the price shown on our reservation confirmation for her hotel. Unfortunately for us though, this in fact cost us 20% more in reality as it meant we lost our Hotels.com rewards nights and the 10% Topcashback discount.
Kindly they gave us a cheap bottle of wine as compensation, but only when I went back the next day to remind them they had promised to do this.
Hotel blamed Expedia, Expedia adamant all procedures followed correctly and it was hotel's error. We'll never know

I found a SCORPION at my bed when we wake up. I, my husband and our little newborn baby sleep same bed with angry scorpion. That was really scary... And hotel staff no say even "sorry", they dont say anything, no check our room, nothing. I dont like it.
