Baite a Skardu

Evenings spent sharing chai and stories with other travelers were some of my best memories here. I’ve stayed in hostels across Europe Asia ,  I had an amazing long-term stay at this old hotel skardu The hosts and staff were incredibly kind, welcoming, and always ready with helpful tips for exploring the city and nearby spots. is also the center of the city.”

“This hotel was amazing and had a fully functional high quality restaurant. The views of surrounding snow capped mountains were amazing. The only problem was that the entire Skardu town had wifi problems and electricity shortages. Hotel had generators to cope with the situation. The hotel said that local government is trying to solve it. The only workable sim card for phone was S-com but even that was on and off depending on the terrain. So be wary of that. Of course it was not hotels fault....

“A nice hotel. But considering the run-down room, facilities, and amenities, it might be slightly overpriced. The room is clean but a bit small. The location on the map (shown in not Expedia) is wrong. We thought this hotel is relatively close to the center of Skardu, but actually it is rather close to the airport. Public transportation is not easily available between the hotel and the city center. So the only way is a hotel car (1500Rs round trip). Staff is polite and friendly. Blackout...

I planned 10 days trip but get sick due to non working of DC converter in the room, so cancel my trip half way and returned home. The airport is at one end and hotel on the other. There is no complimentary shuttle service. The mattresses were with out covers.
