“lovely pub owned by the Lowther Estate. Stayed 3 nights while attending a wedding at Askham hall 6 minutes drive away. Food was well above usual pub food, and sourced from the Estate. Recently refubished. Walls a little thin and you could hear voices from room next door. Also no lift and original worn stone stairs to bedrooms, so may not be suitable for those with mobility issues. “The cottage was pristine, we felt like we were the first guests. It is a spacious, comfortable and stylish property and the owner’s attention to detail is second to none. Large beds and great showers. Very quiet at night so we slept well. Large private garden. Warcop is a lovely village with good walks along the river & streams.
