La casa offre sistemazioni di qualità superiore, dalla spaziosa suite grand, alle opulente camere king size e una camera doppia leggermente più piccola per i membri più piccoli della famiglia.

Situata alla fine di un viale privato nel cuore del Somerset Mendips, questa fattoria familiare è il perfetto rifugio rurale che ti consente di fuggire dal trambusto moderno. Con un'enorme cucina familiare e un ampio spazio arioso con un enorme tavolo da pranzo familiare, ampio soggiorno a doppio aspetto che si apre su un giardino privato maturo con il suo ruscello. È il luogo perfetto per socializzare, intrattenere e cenare.

Puoi goderti la cucina al coperto o all'aperto, leggere, fare yoga nell'ampio atrio a due piani, lavorare a maglia su un meraviglioso divano, rilassarti in giardino, accoccolarti davanti al caminetto o intraprendere una bellissima avventura nel cuore di Avalon.

Nelle immediate vicinanze di Castle Cary, Somerton, Street, Glastonbury (incluso Pilton e il sito del festival) Shepton Mallet e Bruton sono a breve distanza in auto. Bath, Bristol, Stone Henge sono a meno di un'ora di distanza.

Parti della fattoria sono piuttosto antiche: il mulino e il suo ruscello sono nel libro del giorno del giudizio universale, ci sono vecchie storie locali secondo cui la farina per le torte bruciate di re Alfredo veniva macinata nel nostro mulino intorno all'850 d.C.

Stunning, private and spacious cottage… the owner was amazingly helpful and the cottage surpassed our expectations… simply dreamy stay! The only thing we would change would be better quality bed linen and bedding but we understand that that would be expensive, not hypoallergenic - this is not stopping us from going back though and loved every moment of it! Truly relaxing stay in a wonderful location.

Our Holiday

This property was excellent, it provided everything we needed and more. Michael, our host, was very friendly and helpful. The area was beautiful and very quiet. Communication through Vrbo left a lot to be desired. We had problems accessing the app to find out details which was not the fault of our host Michael.

Great house in great location

We had a great stay whilst exploring Somerset & Dorset and looking for a house to buy. Hosts were very helpful, as lived next door. West Barn accomdation was roomy with great kitchen diner.

Christmas 2024

We are originally from England and now live in the USA. We booked this property to gather for a family Christmas as our family is in Somerset. This was a perfect house, I loved everything about it - it was big enough to host 16 people for dinner. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the area so quiet. Long Weekend

Lovely property in a quiet location. Just right for a group of 6 adults (family) to spend some time away. Easy to get to Wells, Glastonbury, Ebbor Gorge and many other places worth visiting.

Really special and spacious property

Lovely stay here with peace and quiet and great surroundings for relaxing. Lovely property with lots of spacious rooms and a great sized table and chairs in the kitchen. Really comfy beds and pillows. Great communication with the owner who was super helpful and friendly.

Great area but property needs some TLC

Cosy cottage? This is a 3 Bedroomed, large house with the owner living next door. It is very comfortable, especially the downstairs. Its in a lovely area for walks etc.- we took our bikes and had a lovely time seeing some small villages around and a great Pub,10 minutes walk away. The kitchen is very large and well equipped for all your needs, love the old range (which is for show only). Double Glazed through out with it seems wooden frames, they look really nice and suit the property. The large lounge has a massive log burner, we didn't use it but I bet that would keep you warm in the cold winters, didn't see much wood though but that maybe because its still Summer. It is the upstairs that lets this Cottage down, though. There are 2 good sized Bedrooms with a Bathroom, with a very powerful Shower. There is a massive Master Bedroom, with an Ensuite Bathroom (Bath only). The Mattress on the Bed in the Master Bedroom, needs replacing as the springs have seen better days - the other beds could do with updating too. and the Furniture looks old and tired. Because all the floors are wooden, they creak a lot, especially in the Master Room - perhaps by having some Rugs on the Floors, it would make it less noisy and more homely. The Garden was lovely with plenty of space, but again could do with some TLC. The Patio was covered in weeds and the Wooden Furniture, all needs replacing. Having said all this, we enjoyed our stay and it is very quiet in a lovely location.

Great, peaceful and beautiful

Heerlijk rustige omgeving met diverse public footpaths in de omgeving, die de mooiste waard is. Het huis is heerlijk ruim, wel wat gehorig tussen de etages. De keuken is mega en heeft echt fijne vibe. De slaapkamers zijn riant de bedden kraken wel behoorlijk Maar heerlijk geslapen.

A beautifully positioned cottage with excellent hosts. Helpful and welcoming from the outset. The cottage is comfortable and peaceful with ample space and well provisioned, but would benefit from some updating now eg outdoor garden furniture and overall decor. However we had a fabulous few days there….thank you.

Excellent Country Getaway

We had a lovely few days staying at the cottage which was very convenient for local sight seeing. The cottage was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The beds were comfortable and lovely large rooms to spend time relaxing as well as enjoying local walks. Would recommend to everyone.

Location, location

An excellent accommodation for my family requirements. 4 adults and 2 children. Good sized bedrooms, excellent kitchen and living area. Generally well equipped, some cleaning cloths required would be our only thought. Otherwise, excellent hosts who were available if required, and though living close where very descreet. The property was easy to find given the GPS coordinates. Communication with the hosts was excellent, and they were very helpful in all arrangements. There was good instructions on how to use and find local amenities. A good supply of books and games were available and some Wellington Boots as it was quite wet and muddy at times. Hot water was always available and both shower and bath options were available. If you are in this lovely area to explore, this is a superb property to do it from.

Beautiful property

Just back from a short stay in this property. It has loads of quirk and charm. Host was easy to communicate with and friendly. A couple things to point out for future visitors that we weren't aware of. There is a large dip in the farm track on way to property, so avoid bringing any 'low' cars as you'll get stuck. Also one of the bathrooms (with the bath) is an ensuite to a bedroom. Lovely stay and would definitely recommend.
