The Succotash Sanctuary - 0.75 Miles to East Matunuck State Beach

The king suite offers a comfortable retreat after a long day at the beach, while the fully stocked kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare delicious meals during your stay.

For your convenience, this home comes stocked with boogie boards, beach chairs, towels and a beach wagon, so you can easily transport your gear to and from the beach.

It's a beautiful and comfortable home in an excellent location. The hosts had just about everything we needed, but didn't bring. We are seasoned VRBO customers, and this one was one of the better ones. Even in November, it was a great stay. We loved it. It's a gem.

We can’t say enough good things about this home. It’s very charming, beautifully decorated and has all of the amenities you need for a relaxing vacation. The host has included everything one may need. We loved the beautiful kitchen, ate our meals on the screened in porch, an outdoor shower after a beach day, s’mores at the fire and a beautiful sunroom overlooking a huge yard with lots of hydrangeas. We played soccer each night with our 3 year old during sunset. We walked to the Matunuck Oyster Bar for dinner. We did a day trip to nearby Newport. Great location and easy access to many local beaches, including one at the end of the street. You won’t be disappointed with your stay at succotash sanctuary!

Thanksgiving break

Great location, great yard. Enjoyed family room and kitchen. Very comfortable beds. Also great outdoor spaces with decks grills and fire pit. Would enjoy going back to this property.

A great place to stay on vacation.

The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed. You could tell that the everything was new. The bedrooms were comfortable and the AC worked well. All of the beach stuff in the basement came in very handy when we went to the beach. It was nice to not have to bring it with us from home. The host was very good about communication. We had a small issue with the door lock and she resolved it promptly for us. Overall a very nice stay and in a quiet neighborhood. Excellent location for being near the beach and not too far from a lot of things to do. I would definitely stay here again with my family in the future.

RI beach week.

We had a great mid-summer family vacation at Succotash Sanctuary. It was our first Rhode Island beach week. The house is beautiful, clean, and the perfect size for 4 people. We had everything we needed, and our older boys loved the big yard and the provided badminton net, baseball gloves and tennis rackets (short distance to courts). We took advantage of the proximity to Matunuck Oyster House, walking there multiple times for delicious dinners or drinks. It was a hot week, so we appreciated the short distance to both the state beach and the town beach, as well as the chairs and umbrellas. We also took a day trip to Newport, explored Fort Adams while they were prepping for the Folk Fest, and ate lunch at Castle Hill. We highly recommend Succotash Sanctuary!

Beach Vacation

Even though we were away from home, we felt very comfortable in this beautifully decorated vacation rental. The location of the home is centrally located. It is just minutes away from the beach, restaurants and shopping. The owners thought of everything, from the fully equipped kitchen to linens, internet and games. We would definitely rent this property again!

Exceeded Expectations

This was the perfect place to stay for four of us visiting my sister for her 40th birthday. The house is tucked away off the main road in a great neighborhood, which gives it a very cozy and private feeling. We loved the outdoor spaces between the large yard, patio and deck areas, fire pit, outdoor shower, and screened-in porch. The fact that it's located within walking distance of the Matunuck Oyster Bar and is a short jaunt to an amazing beach area is an added bonus. Allie was a great host and communicated effectively from our original booking through checkout. We hope to be back again soon!

Perfect Escape

The Succotash Sanctuary Is truly that, so peaceful! All my daughter wanted for her “sweet 16” was a weekend away with a couple of friends in Newport. After a busy day of doing the Cliff Walk, then shopping downtown, we headed to the house to get ready for a night out. Once there we didn’t even want to leave. The house is so warm and welcoming. The 2 living room spaces aloud the girls a space they could do their thing, while my friend and I were able to relax in the other. And the outdoor space is fantastic too!! If you love the beach, you can’t beat the location. Lastly, I can’t leave out how responsive and accommodating Allie was. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home!!

Great weekend getaway!

As 2 sets of friends coming from MA and CT, this Rhode Island gem was the perfect meetup. The home is so charming, and has everything you could possibly need for a night in (fire pit, board games, every kitchen utensil for cooking, lawn games), as well as a day at the beach (towels, wagon, toys). The fenced in backyard is large and perfect for kids to run around and everything was so clean. The beach and restaurants were also walking distance. We couldn’t have had a more perfect start to summer!

Matunuck Beach fun

I stayed here for a few days with 3 couples. The home was more than we expected from the Vrbo ad. It was extremely clean and it appears someone put real time into furnishing the property and creating useful space. The yard is unbeatable and it’s where we spent a majority of our time, playing games, sunbathing, and sitting by the fire pit next to the deck. It’s super close to Matunuck oyster bar, captain jacks, and east Matunuck beach, which made it so there was not much questioning of how we were going to spend our days. Plus there’s no better way to finish off a day at the beach than with an outdoor shower. Highly recommend booking here, will definitely be staying here in the future.
