Mordaunt Road, Family Home with Driveway near The Avenue

Summary:

Three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms for up to seven guests: a king room with its own en suite, twin singles, a single room and a lounge sofa bed for two. There's a lounge, a light-filled conservatory and a breakfast-bar kitchen, outside a private patio, and off-road parking for one car plus a permit for another. Bedford Place is about 11 minutes' walk, and the cruise terminals around 6 minutes by car.



The Space:

Sleeping

UK bed sizes: a king is similar to a US queen, and a single to a US twin.

King room: king-size bed, with its own en suite bathroom.

Twin room: two single beds.

Single room: one single bed.

Lounge: a sofa that opens into a bed for two.

All three bedrooms are on the first floor.

Quality linen is on every bed when you arrive, with extra pillows and blankets.



Bathrooms

Two and a half: the en suite, a family bathroom with both a bathtub and a shower, and a separate toilet. Towels and toiletries are provided.



Kitchen and dining

Cook for seven with the oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and freezer, and plenty of pans and crockery. Eat at the breakfast bar or the dining table. A starter supply of tea and coffee is in the cupboard.



Living room and conservatory

A comfortable living room with a TV and Virgin channels, and a conservatory with extra seating and plenty of daylight.



Outside

A private outdoor area at the back with a patio.



Everyday practicals

Fast Wi-Fi, a laptop-friendly space, a washer and a dryer, an iron, fans, heating with a living-room thermostat, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit.



Travelling with children

Children and babies are welcome. The house has a travel cot, a high chair, a stair gate, child-size cutlery, and books and toys to borrow.



Bringing your dog

Up to three dogs are welcome, and a pet fee applies.



Good to know

It's an ordinary inner-city road, but shops, buses and the city are close. Guests can't use the garage. Please keep things quiet from 10 at night until 8 in the morning, for the neighbours.



Guest Access:

The whole house is yours. Arrive any time between 4 and 9 pm and use the lockbox; leave by 10 am. One car parks on the drive. For a second car, use the council permit you'll find inside, then leave it behind for the next guests. Without a permit, the road is one-hour parking.



The Neighborhood:

Mordaunt Road sits just off The Avenue, north of the city centre. On foot: Bedford Place 11 minutes, Portswood 19, the Mayflower Theatre 20, Southampton Common and St Mary's Stadium 23, Southampton Central 25, WestQuay 26 and the Bargate 27. By car: the cruise terminals 6 to 8 minutes, Ocean Village 7, Southampton General Hospital 10. The Common, with its woods and ponds, is a great space for children to run off steam.



Getting Around:

Buses to the city centre run close by. Southampton Central station, for direct trains to London Waterloo, is about 25 minutes on foot, and Southampton Airport Parkway is around 8 minutes by car.

You choose either a Damage Deposit of £350 (your card is saved and nothing is taken up front; it can only be charged for a claim SafeGuest approves after check-out) or SafeGuest's No Deposit fee of £40 (a one-off fee paid to SafeGuest).
