The Hermit's Hideaway

Bellissimo appartamento sul retro completamente ristrutturato in un triplex costruito nel 1859. Situato nello storico Westside Springfield, IL. Vicino al centro, Washington Park, siti storici e negozi. La casa fu originariamente costruita nel diciottesimo e cinquantanove come casa unifamiliare. Qualche volta alla fine del diciannovesimo trenta fu trasformato in un triplex. Quando abbiamo rinnovato la proprietà l'abbiamo lasciata come triplex.
Hermit's Hideaway si trova sul retro di un'incantevole (stravagante) casa in gran parte ristrutturata del 1859. Situato in posizione centrale, a circa un miglio dal centro, dagli ospedali e dal Washington Park.
Ci sono pavimenti in piastrelle e mosaico in cucina. Un sacco di tocchi personalizzati in tutto. Molto tranquillo, accogliente e appartato. Vista del tramonto dal soggiorno.
Splendido laghetto koi a file nel cortile, in primavera e in estate infiniti fiori. Non usiamo veleni nel cortile e abbiamo creato un grande giardino di farfalle e ogni anno riceviamo sempre più farfalle! I monarchi sono i macaoni sono i più abbondanti, ma ne abbiamo un'ampia varietà. Nel cortile c'è il nostro pollaio, al momento abbiamo solo 7 polli avari non sdraiati. Nella primavera del 2020 avremo 5 nuovi pulcini e speriamo che siano più cooperativi delle nostre vecchie ragazze. :)
Abbiamo quasi finito con una ristrutturazione totale della casa / tri-plex - è stato un tri-plex dagli anni '40. Viviamo di sopra. L'intero progetto di ristrutturazione è completato per circa il 95%. Questo posto è un'opportunità per soggiornare in una casa davvero unica, su un terreno di un ettaro nel mezzo del lato ovest storico. Possediamo anche un duplex sulla proprietà e lo abbiamo impostato anche come noleggio airbnb. Quando il tempo collabora il cortile è irresistibile. Mettiamo in un orto gigante ogni anno. Abbiamo alberi di pera, pesca, ciliegia e melo, oltre a fragole, lamponi e more in crescita.

We came to find Abraham Lincoln. We also found a very interesting property with fountains and many unique constructions and more history than we realized. (Ulysses Grant lived nearby.) We recommend this place.

My husband and I come to Springfield each summer for the Route 66 festival. This was our first time using VRBO and our first time staying here. WOW. Instant favorite! Everything about this place was absolutely perfect for us. I knew it would be great based on previous reviews, but it still exceeded my expectations! It's much more spacious than I had anticipated. It's so cozy and comfortable, and the decor is so well-curated and cohesive throughout the whole space! Such a vibe. We had everything we needed. The patio out back was great for relaxing. We met Justin and Elena and they are fantastic people. You can tell they put a LOT of thought and *love* into their home. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much!

Extremely easy check in process, and owners were very responsive ahead of check in. As soon as you pull in the driveway, this place has total Key West vibes, from the gorgeous lily pad and koi pond, to the free range chickens milling around. Once you walk inside the unit, it totally felt like I was in a cute Florida Keys home. It has an eclectic vibe, and vibrant colors! The bed was the most comfortable VRBO rental bed we’ve ever slept in!! We hope to rent again!

Very beautiful!! Loved all the artwork and the details of the place. The outside is stunning!! I found 15 little ducks in the place,don’t know how many more there were but being a Jeep family is was a great touch. I would stay again!!

The front yard is filled with flowers, then when you walk to the back yard there are more flowers, a koi pond, chicken coop and a sitting area. Inside was colorful and filled with beautiful decorations on the walls. The tile work in the bathroom is fun and leads to a deep bathtub for relaxing. Bed was comfortable. The only bad thing was that we only stayed one night, we will be back.

This place was like an arboretum in the city. We had coffee with koi! The art and decor and craftsmanship was superb; we kept finding new fun things that we hadn’t seen. The hosts were very nice and pleasant to talk to. It was clear that a lot of love and care went into this space. We are looking for a reason to go to Springfield again just to go back. :)

The unit itself was very very nice and clean. The property itself was awful. Yard full of junk and not well kept at all. Our unit had a small open porch outside our door that you used to walk in to the unit and it was awful. Junk, ashtray with used cigarettes, old tools and anything u could think of and looked like had been like that a long time. The backyard “paradise” was the same way. Unfortunately this rental is not in a nice neighborhood. I’m sad to report this as they appear to be nice people
