“The lodge is a wonderful place to get away to birch trees and smell off clean pine air. Our lake view was amazing. The leaves were just beginning to show the onset of fall with few hues of red and orange. We took many walks around the property enjoying the woods and lake. The resort was quiet but people hanging out at the beach or fisherman taking their boats early in the morning. The pool and spa were used a few times. It should open early. The kitchen and dining were stocked to meet our needs....

“I was unsure that you could get to the other lakes on the chain. The little river (in some areas) is a little shallow but I was able to take my 17 1/2 foot fishing boat to all the lakes. We had a good time. Thank you”

“Spent four days in Minocqua at the Knotty Barrel Lodge. I have been spending summers in Minocqua for 30 years, there is nothing like this place. Perfect location, walking distance to town, easy for boat rental. There is a great supper club downstairs with a friendly staff (btw: noise from the restaurant is not an issue at all)The property is clean and so unique. The beds are crazy comfortable, bunk room in great condition with lockers and vanity mirrors, showers and bathrooms in perfect...

Perfectly set up for a family vacation with multiple generations as it feels like three distinct living areas between basement, main floor and upper level. They have every feature / amenity you need for a memorable family trip - docks, kayaks, fire pit, grill, game room, etc.Lora is a tremendous host. Responsive and helpful with great suggestions & tips for making most out of trip.”
