The Lodge is a beautiful curated space with a wealth of Victorian features where we celebrate all that is great about St Leonards: architecture, heritage and thriving creative community. beautifully restored and tastefully modernised with gallery-level art, hand-painted murals and striking period features. High ceilings, stained glass, original cornicing and elegant fireplaces give the Lodge its distinctive character and timeless charm.

The expansive open-plan living space feels bright, creative and uplifting, with thoughtful lighting, refined furnishings and multiple desk areas for guests who need to work. . Just moments from the seafront, cafés and galleries, the Retreat offers a spacious, calm setting for families, professionals and creative guests to read, cook, work or unwind.

We are in the unbeatable location of Central St Leonards, enviably placed next to the boutiques, coffee shops and sea front all within a short stroll.

The Space
Lovingly restored, retaining beautiful period features, including elaborate fireplaces, stained glass windows, cornicing and ceiling roses. You will also find lots of interesting details about the artists and creatives who have contributed (& continue to do so).

Set over a two levels, the building is substantial in size. The open plan living space is exceptional with high walls and lots of desk space for those looking to catch-up with emails. Furnishings are tasteful and modern with thoughtful use of lighting and artistic contributions throughout.

Kitchen is well appointed with modern fittings, fully fitted with washing machine, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, microwave and gas hob.
It is well stocked with cutlery, crockery and cooking equipment.
The bathroom is modern with heated towel rail.

The upper floor consists of a spacious master bedroom (with TV) and two further double bedrooms that accommodates up to six guests in total.

TV is provided by 55-inch 4k Smart TV with Sound Bar streaming, which allows you to connect to your Amazon / Netflix accounts plus a variety of Freeview channels including BBC iPlayer / ITV/ Chanel4 etc. This is complimented by a 42-inch 4k Smart TV in the Master bedroom also.

Other things to note

We understand that sometimes circumstances require a little more flexibility when arriving or leaving, so we offer the possibility of an early check-in and/or late check-out, subject to availability. However, please note the following charges apply:

Early Check-In Fee: £15 for every additional hour or part thereof before the standard check-in time (3pm).

Late Check-Out Fee: £15 for every additional hour or part thereof beyond the standard check-out time (10am).

To ensure smooth transitions for all our guests, please inform us at least 48 hours in advance if you anticipate needing an early check-in or a late check-out. If this causes an inconvenience to incoming or outgoing guests, we may need to decline the request.
