Christmas ski vacation

Beautiful property, clean warm and cozy in the winter snow! We came from Florida to ski in Grachen and Zermatt and the quaint villages and ski resorts did not disappoint. Also great communication from the owner and property manager. I don’t believe the property is hard to find if you’re from the area, but being from Florida it was quite a challenge finding it when we first arrived. It would have been easier for us to know to go up the road from the Niedergrachen bus stop and take the 2nd long driveway on the left. Hublen is not the name of a street as we had thought. Also, the “hill” was more like a cliff being from a cliff

Simply great!

The house was impeccable with a spacious family room and a well equipped kitchen. Lovely decks to admire the sunsets. So quiet and with gorgeous views. Comfortable beds. The owner, Walter, came to check and make sure we were happy. The property manager was very responsive for any thing. As for the surroundings, they were great with the paths up the mountain to walk to Grachen and branch off to other hiking areas. Truly a perfect stay, we wish we could have staid even more. Thank you so much

Goldener Herbst im Chalet Charming

Grosszügiges schön gelegenes Chalet am Ende einer Zufahrtstrasse. Diese muss man etwas beherzt befahren, dafür steht das Chalet für sich, in ruhiger Lage, mit Blick auf Bergwald, Weiden und die erhabene Weisshorngruppe. Stube und Essbereich gemütlich, mit hoher Holzdecke und schönem Rundumblick, Küche modern und zweckmässig, die Bäder sind ebenfalls modern und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Vom Chalet aus gehen Wanderwege direkt ab auf den Höhenweg entlang der historischen Wasserleitungen von Gasenried/Riedgletscher bis nach Grächen mit wunderschöner Aussicht. In Grächen selber findet man alles für den Ferienaufenthalt, von Restaurants, Lebensmittel- und Sportläden und regionalen Produkten (Metzgerei, Kunsthandwerk etc.). Die Wandertipps, die Herr Gora in seinem Chaletführer aufzählt, haben wir gern umgesetzt und sind sehr zu empfehlen (Moosalp, Gornergrat, Hannigalp, Wandern entlang der Wasserleitungen uvm). Wir haben mit unseren Hunden eine erholsame und erlebnisreiche Woche bei sonnigem Herbstwetter verbracht, und können den Aufenthalt nur weiterempfehlen.

exceeded expectations

This chalet was perfect for our family. The location is remote, but within walking distance of good restaurants and shops. We wanted a place that felt as if we were in the forest, and this chalet did not disappoint. We drank our morning coffee on the porch with an amazing view of the Matterhorn, and one evening a mother deer and her fawn strolled by. There is a stream behind the house that flows into a small pond, and my two girls loved exploring this area. The chalet backs up to a beautiful well-marked hiking trail that leads to Grachen, and we hiked this many times. It's less than a 30 minute drive south to Zermatt and north to Visp. The owner and manager of the chalet were very friendly and accessible. All modern conveniences were present. This is one of my favorite VRBOs ever. I give it my highest recommendation.

Top locatie

Het huis is echt super mooi. Alles is netjes en verzorgd. Wat wij lastig vonden was dat er geen persoonlijk ontvangst was i.v.m betaling van de kurtaxe. Wij moesten zoeken naar het huis. Het staat niet goed aangegeven aan de doorgaande straat. Het huis bleek op een 150 meter zeer steile helling te staan. De weg er naartoe was zand met grind en veel kuilen. Onze auto's (3) konden niet boven komen. Eenmaal in het huis was het verblijf echt super fijn. Heel veel rust en een magistraal uitzicht. Op de helling na hebben we enorm genoten.

Charmantes Chalet Charming

Wir hatten eine wundervolle Woche in dem netten Chalet. Es hat uns an nichts gemangelt und wir kommen gerne wieder. Durch regelmäßige Busverbindungen und einen schönen Weg durch den Wald, ist die Entfernung zum Skigebiet kein Problem 😉

Large house with wonderful views

Two families had a wonderful time in this spacious, modern house. We were able to separate the families by floor which added another level of luxury, especially with small children. The location of the house is spectacular. While you do need a car (if you are traveling with kids who don’t want to walk 20 mins uphill to town) there are beautiful walks starting right from the house and great views from every room. Many wonderful activities in the area- Grächen is a great place to visit with kids. It is not overly touristy.

Entspannte Bergferien

Wenn man etwas für sich sein und genügend Platz haben möchte, können wir das Charming empfehlen. Es ist das oberste Chalet einer Reihe angrenzend zum Wald, daher sehr ruhig gelegen. Wenn das Nachbarhaus auf der unteren Seite besetzt ist hört man die Nachbarn natürlich. Vom Haus kann man direkt auf einen Wanderpfad durch den Wald hinauf und auf die Suonen Wanderwege oder weitergehenden Bergwege gelangen und ist zu Fuss in ca. 30 Minuten beim Dorfplatz in Grächen wo auch Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind. Wir hatten einen Hund dabei der hat die Umgebung ebenfalls sehr genossen. Es waren diesbezüglich stressfreie Ferien. Das Chalet ist via steiler Zufahrt (Naturstrasse) erreichbar. Wir hatten kein 4x4 aber mit etwas Schwung und Mut ging das auch und oben kann man sicher 2-3 Autos vor dem Haus abstellen. Das Haus bietet im 1. Stock auf drei Seiten des Hauses Sitzplatz-gelegenheit und hat ausreichenden Sonnenschutz. Die Südseite ist Windgeschützt und wer mehr Wind wünscht sitzt auf die Seiten ( max 2-3 Plätze) Die Balkontischbestuhlung reicht für 4 Personen (es könnten jedoch max. 8 Personen im Haus schlafen). Die Möblierung des Sitzplatz insbesondere im EG entsprach nicht dem Luxus Niveau des Chalet und dem Online Bild und hat seit dem Bild stark gelitten. Wenn nicht gerade ein Defekt mit einer Leitung mit Wassereinbruch gewesen wäre, würden 3 Toiletten, eine oben / zwei unten in Kombination mit Bad/Dusche zur Verfügung stehen. Die beiden unteren sind via vorgelagerte Schlafräume erreichbar. Die zum Wohnraum offene Küche, bietet alle notwendigen Geräte und hat ebenfalls einen herrlichen Ausblick. Der Kühlschrank war für uns vier genügend gross. Etwas platz muss man schaffen um die Lebensmittelvorräte unter zu bringen. Die Zusammenstellung des Geschirr, Gläser, Tassen und Besteck ist zwar aus verschiedenen Serien und Grössen zusammengestellt aber ausreichend von der Anzahl. Das Wohn-/Esszimmer mit TV ist luftig gross und wenn die noch vorhandene Weihnachtsdeko im ganzen Haus nicht stört :-) mit viel Sinn für das Detail eingerichtet. WLan im g. Haus. Der Eingangsbereich ist schön gross, sodass die verschiedenen Schuhtypen und Rucksäcke usw. ohne Probleme Platz finden. Die Sauna war täglich in Betrieb und hat für Abwechslung und Entspannung gesorgt. 3-4 Personen finden schätzungsweise platz,wir waren max. zu zweit drin. Im Kellergeschoss um das Haus herum findet man auch einen Waschturm. Wenn das Wetter noch Stimmt = entspannte Bergferien :-)

The chalet is very well equipped and clean. The owner is very responsive. The area is very beautiful and we enjoyed the ability to hike from the chalet door. Took us a few days to discover the trailers but it was fun.

Weihnachtsurlaub

Wir verbrachten mit der Familie eine wunderbare Ferienwoche über Weihnachten in einem zauberhaften Chalet, in dem es an nichts mangelte und wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus ist äusserst gepflegt und sauber und es sind alle Geräte vorhanden, die den Urlaub in einem Ferienhaus perfekt machen. Die Abende verbrachten wir meistens vor dem gelieferten!!Tannenbaum am Kamin. Alle Zimmer haben eine herrlichen Blick in die schneebedeckte Landschaft und wir haben das familiäre Skigebiet sehr genossen. Die reizenden Vermieter bewohnten das Nachbarhaus. Alles in Allem: wir werden sicher wiederkommen!

Gemütliches Chalet das keine Wünsche offen lässt

Wir hatten das Chalet über Weihnachten und Silvester gebucht uns trotz wenig Schnee, eine sehr schöne Zeit in Grächen verbracht. Herr Gora war immer für uns erreichbar und sehr umgänglich. Wir würden das Chalet immer wieder buchen, da es genügend Platz für mehrere Personen bietet und durch das grosse Wohnzimmer nicht einengt. Die Aussicht ist natürlich auch nicht zu vergessen. Grächen selbst liegt sehr gut, um auszuspannen, Ski fahren zu gehen oder Wanderungen zu unternehmen. Vielen Dank für diese schöne Zeit!

Erholung pur vor spektakulärer Bergkulisse

Tolle und in allen Belangen erstklassige Unterkunft auf großem Grundstück am Waldrand am Hang gelegen mit spektakulärem Blick auf die umgebenden Berge. Wir haben uns sofort heimisch gefühlt und unseren 2-wöchigen Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Die Abreise fiel wirklich schwer.
